"thanks" he said. I nod and walk nervously to the next table, which happens to be the jock of jerks at school. "Hi I'm Liz, I'll be waitress this evening. How may I take your order?" I said.

"Hey guys look who it is. The stupid loser." the guy with the basket ball in his hand. "Yea she does look good in that uniform, lets play with her" the other one said.

"I don't think so, look are you going to order or not. If not just leave." I said trying to be nice as I can hearing their comments.

"Ya, I'll have a order of the losers burger. I'm sure you know how to do that. Right spanky?" the guy with ball said to me.

She walks off and I eat slowly.
"Hey guys look who it is. The stupid loser."

I look up at the guys in the table next to me.
"Yea she does look good in that uniform, lets play with her"
What?

"I don't think so, look are you going to order or not. If not just leave." Liz says firmly.

"Ya, I'll have a order of the losers burger. I'm sure you know how to do that. Right spanky?"

Before I can stop myself I get up and go over.
"Thats it, you guys can leave before I throw you out" I tell them.
They take one look at me, and since Im a lot older than them.

"Sorry...didn't know she was taken" One of them mutters before the whole pack leaves.

"If she is she's not by me" I tell them cooly as I hear the door shut behind them.

Without looking at Liz I sit back down and start eating again.

I was about to say something to guy when Max got up. "Thats it, you guys can leave before I throw you out." Max said to them. I'm a little shock by the situation between him and I are in.

"Sorry...didn't know she was taken" one of jerks said "If she is she's not by me" Max said to them when they walk out.

I walk over to his table and stood there. "Thanks" I said. I didn't know what to say or do.

"No problem." I tell her. I take another very small bite of my burger. I now want to stay incase another set of jerk start being horrible to her. I want to be here to protect her.

I know....I know....
I shouldn't.
But I cant help it.

"No problem." he said taking a sip out of his drink. "Is anything else I can get you?" I said. I heard the door open as the wind comes in my direction blowing hair over my face. I don't bother to move it because I always feel like I should hide from people.

I've barely had three miniscule bites of my burger...
But hey if I order something....even more reason to stay longer....
"Actually can I have some orbit rings and men in blackberry pie?"
Thats a lot of food...but hey....

"Actually can I have some orbit rings and men in blackberry pie?" he ask. I nod, "sure" I said walking to Jose grabing some rings he already made. I put it on a tray and walk over behind the counter.

I take a pie of the pie Max wanted and put on a separate plant. I put on the tray and walk over to him. I put it down it from of him.

"There you go." I said showing best smile I can when your hair is blocking your view of seeing.

She goes off and I sit there. Well this is going well! What happened to staying clear and not thinking about her!
Instead Im here so she doesnt get hurt!

"Thanks" I say as I take my fourth tiny weeny bite of burger.
At this rate Ill be here tommorow evening but I dont care. Besides Liz hasnt noticed so who cares?

"Thanks" Max said as I put down his plants. "Your welcome" I said. I look at him for a second and walk behind the counter. I didn't know what to do on Maria's shift. But I think I did good job so far.

I lean on the counter watching people come in, in Alex's and Isabel's sections. Speaking of them, where are they? I look down at counter as my hair covers my view some more. I wonder if Max is really okay with us not to be together? I don't even think he knows why I really broke up with him. But if he is safe and away from me they I guess it's okay if he hates me.

I wait a minute before taking another miniscule bite. I put the burger down and just look at it for a long time, spacing time out. I dont expect she even cares Im here. Probably hasnt given me a second thought.
I stare at the burger. Suddenly Im not hungry...and I have orbit rings and pie I havent even touched yet.
Im going to be here a week.
