I nod as Zan agrees that we all need a short break. A little time to regroup and figure out what all this means will help a lot. Plus, I have a conversation due with Liz.
"Great. See you soon," I say, casting a worried glance at Serena. I do want to help her, but I am a bit concerned about the way she attacked Liz. What if she decides someone-else needs a 'connection'? Well, I just have to hope she'll be more rational when she's 'fixed.'
I give Liz a level look. "Let's go." Turning to Alex and Kyle, I ask "Could you give Isabel a ride for me? I need to talk to Liz alone."

OOC: Thanks Ruby, glad you like it

"Great. See you soon," Max says and I turn to Zan, “I’m about to starve, let’s grab a bite to eat.” I hear Max talking to his people and as I turn to head up the stairs to exit I notice Serena looking hard at Max again.
“Your walls are white.” She tells him then flicks her fingers in front of his face and smiles sweetly at him. “Mine are red.”
I don't even want to know what that's about. “Come on girl, lets get out here.” I say taking her hand and leading us outside. I notice how reluctant Zan seemed to let her go. I lead Serena away with a firm grip on her wrist. I would have to keep an better eye on her, than I have been, no more sneaking weapons.

Hey thanks Ruby!

"Great. See you soon," Max says to Zan then turning to me and Alex. “Could you give Isabel a ride for me? I need to talk to Liz alone."
I nod, at least he’ s not glaring at me any more I wont admit to anyone but that was kinda scary.
“Ok sure. Alex you need a ride?” I ask but i know he must have Drove here himself and well probably want to take Issy home so I get ready to leave myself.
“Your walls are white.” Serena tells Max then flicks her fingers in front of his face and smiles sweetly at him. “Mine are red.”
“Come on girl, lets get out here.” Ava says taking her hand and leads her out.
“Oh hey!” I race to catch up with them. “Where are you guys staying? And how are you gonna get something to eat? Cause every one knows Max, Isabel, Michael and Tess. People are bound to notice you.”

“Your walls are white.” Serena says and then flicks her fingers in front of my face. “Mine are red.”
For an instant, I'm there, in the white room. My throat tight, my muscles straining, my mind filled with fear. It passes almost immediately, but I can still feel the adreniline pulsing through me. Red. What does she mean by red? Was she hurt somewhere, too? Will 'fixing' Serena mean that Liz will see and experience something as horrible as the white room? I hope not. I wouldn't want anyone to have to experience that, even in flashes. I've seen more of it tonight than I have in days ...
I try to focus on what's going on around me, hoping nobody noticed that instant when I wasn't quite here. Kyle's trying to figure out where the others are going to be. That's fine. I'll let them sort it for now.
"Isabel? Could you make sure the place is locked up for me?" I ask. Last thing I need is for Brody to discover the place open later. "And maybe you and Tess can bring Alex and Kyle up to speed. I'm sure they have even more questions than we do."

“Oh hey!” a guy runs to catch up with us. I think his name was Kyle. “Where are you guys staying? And how are you gonna get something to eat? Cause every one knows Max, Isabel, Michael and Tess. People are bound to notice you.”
I shrug my shoulders. Humans have no imagination. At least that’s what Lonnie’s always sayin’. Of course she’s not the # one human fan of the group. “We’re stayin’ at The Tumbleweed Motel. I doubt anyone will question us and if they do I’ll just use my powers to make them think were somebody else.”
I tell him and then I get a better look at him. Built, a little on the short side, but who am I to talk? And he has the prettiest dark blue eyes, kind of how the sky gets before a thunderstorm. I got the feeling he’s sort of the jock type. I got the feeling he just caught me looking him over and I look away feeling a blush come to my cheeks. Great first impression there Ava, we’re supposed to be better than humans, your not supposed to show weakness and your especially not supposed to blush in front of them!

Ava shrugs and answers. “We’re stayin’ at The Tumbleweed Motel. I doubt anyone will question us and if they do I’ll just use my powers to make them think were somebody else.”
she gives me this look then turns away. Right alien mumbo jumbo, must look like the worlds biggest idiot right now. Don’t say anything stupid. Don’t say anything stupid, don’t say anything stupid. I keep telling my self.
“Oh so you can mind freeze to? I mean warp. Mind warp.” ok from now on I must remain quiet at all times.

Just before leaving, Serena stopped in front of Max. Oh no, not again.
“Your walls are white. Mine are red.”
I shook my head as Ava led her away. What did she mean by white and red? It was useless trying to comprehend.
As we made our way out, we were stopped again, this time by- Karl. Or something. He asked where we were staying and said that we were bound to be recognised out there- as Max's gang. One would think that, knowing about Max and Co.'s secrets, he'd be able to use a little logic by now.

I stuffed my hands in my pockets and waited impatiently, my eyes fixed on Serena. Somehow, I found it hard to be discreet anymore. She continued to look around with that spaced out look. I wondered if we were too late.

OOC -- Sorry for the long speech, but there was a lot to say, lol.

I leave Isabel and the others to sort out the transportation issues and to lock up the place. Liz doesn’t say anything as she and I head out to the jeep. She climbs into the passenger seat, looking at me apologetically. I’m not sure if she’s planning to speak or not, but I forestall her.
“Don’t say anything yet,” I say. “We’ll talk when we get to the park.”
We only have an hour so we don’t have time to head out to the pod chamber and back. I also want to have some time to talk to the rest of our group, too, to get their impressions on what we’ve learned and how we should go forward. The park should be fine. It’s dark and nearly deserted. I can take us up to the picnic grounds where nobody will notice us.
seven minutes later, I’m pulling into a space in the north parking lot in the park. There’s not another car in sight.
“All right, Liz. I don’t think this will take long,” I tell her, not getting out of the jeep. The sides are up and that should help keep our voices from carrying if by some chance someone is out there walking their dog or something.
Turning, I look her in the eye and I can see her objections already and maybe she does know better how complicated it is from her side, but I think I can cut through that. “I’m not stupid, Liz. I can figure out that you faked that scene with Kyle so that I would stop asking you to be with me and accept that you wanted to break up with me. So I would stop loving you. At the time, I thought you might have lied about how you said you still loved me, or just that you meant that you loved me, but you loved him more. But when we connected, I saw that it wasn’t true. You don’t love him and you do love me. What I want to know is why you wanted to break up with me so badly.” I hold up my hand, stopping her for another moment longer.
“No. Don’t tell me that it’s because it’s my destiny to be with Tess. I’ve never once heard you tell Maria to break up with Michael or urging Alex to give up on Isabel because it was their destinies to be with each other. If you were so keen on destiny, you would have done that but you didn’t. Destiny is just an excuse, isn’t it? An alibi to hide your real reason.
“That’s what I want to know. Your real reason. Don’t worry, I won’t press you to get back together with me, again. If you’ve gone to that extreme, I know I’m not going to change your mind,” I admit. I have the impression that she was afraid, but I don’t know why. Fears aren’t usually rational and I know they can’t be banished with logic. I don’t expect to be able to change her mind, but I still want to know.
“I just want to know the truth, no matter what it is. Is it because of the danger? Is it because I might have to leave someday? Did you just decide it was just too creepy to be with someone who wasn’t human? Afraid our children would be ‘weird’? Tell me why, Liz. Tell me the truth.”
I look into her eyes, hoping that she will do that. I asked her for the truth twice before, when we were in Copper Summit, and I know she lied to me then. I hope she won’t lie to me again. I’m sure it will hurt, but it will be better than a lie.

As soon as the word Granolith was said my ears perked up. I was suddenly interested in everything said. Well, that had to do with the Granolith. I felt Lonnie tense up and start paying attention also.
Max had asked if we thought the Granolith would help Serena...Zan didn't know. All we knew about the Granolith was that it was something of awsome power and everyone wanted control over it. Those who seek power seek the Granolith.
While Ava and that jock looking guy talk I shift towards Zan. "Yo, don't you think we should scat? I mean, look at her. We don't want her going balistic on these humans."
What I wanted to do was find out more about where the Granolith was but I knew I'd have to wait. Maybe it can help fix Serena, which I cared little about, but it would get us to it.

“Oh so you can mind freeze to? I mean warp. Mind warp.” He says and I smile at him, but then I remember what is going on and quickly crash back into reality.
Then the idea hits me. If Liz isn’t ready for the power maybe the Granolith can store Liz’s set of powers until she is ready, that way Serena will be okay again and we can figure out how to make Liz ready.
“Well we gotta go grab a bite, catch ya later though.” I tell Kyle then turn to Zan and share my idea as we turn to leave. “What if the Granolith can take Liz’s set of powers from Serena and store them until we figure out what’s up with Liz?”
