OOC: hope this works
~Alex~
Maria agrees, albeit grumbling, and I see her run over to the tent she was sharing with Maria and start gesturing. I’m a little too far away to hear what’s actually being said, but unfortunately it doesn’t look much like Kyle is impressed whatever it is.
I’m about to go over, although what I can do to help I don’t know, when suddenly I hear my voice called. My dad and Mr Parker are stood together at the edge of the group, motioning for me to come over. I don’t know what this is about, but somehow given the current atmosphere I have a very bad feeling about this.
“Hey Alex…I was just wondering if you had seen my Lizzie…?” Mr Parker asks me. I notice him looking over at Maria a little strangely, but I don’t suppose this is really the time to mention that. I didn’t realise that Liz had already been missed…although by her father is better than Kyle I guess – him I might just be able to fob off. “I..uh…think she went to the bathroom or something…She’s probably already back though and around here somewhere…”
It’s a weak excuse I know, but for now he seems satisfied and I allow myself a two minute pat on the back and sigh of relief.
Unfortunately, that’s as long as it lasts, because just then, I see Maria gesturing to me frantically – Kyle is bending down as we speak and sticking his head into their tent… This is not good…

As Kyle actually walks up to me and puts his arm around me, sitting beside me, I do my best not to cringe. It's not that I have anything against him, it's simply that if he knew what I was, I doubted he'd want to do anything other then lock me up in a so called Safehouse for shifters, or kill me. Still, I'm surprised when he seems to ask me rather kindly, "Hey, you okay?"
Slowly, I nod. Still trying not to laugh or go running after the Sheriff to teach him a lesson for talking to Kyle as he did. Forcing my expression to be relatively blank other then the fake tears that I had sliding down my cheeks I looked at him, "I'm sorry I got pawned off on you.. it's just... just...... Mista...." Goddess, I hated having to play the kid. Sometimes I wished that we could just live side by side with humans. Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be. Carefully, I glanced up at the moon and hoped my beast would behave a while longer so I could go on the hunt when it was safe.
I shuddered, acting like I was trying to hold back a sob, "If.. you.. want.. to..to... go.. you.. c..can. I..I'll...b..be f..f..fine." Thanks Mista.. those acting classes might well pay off after all, I think to myself.
What I wouldn't give to go back to life five years ago... oops, no nevermind. That life was lonely and I was seen as cheap and taudry. Hmm, what's so different about this life? I'm still invisible, but this time it's not just my mind and heart that's not seen. It's me, as a person, looks and all. Even most of my pack ignores me as much as they can.

OOC: Tess can show up at anytime to the symbol hehehe, unless you want her revealed on a different day.... and simply have her start school like in the show in a way? Up to you, M
~Michael~
Liz winces suddenly as I'm getting set to turn away and just walk but I notice a spark run over her hand and then another. I frowned as I realized it was power, a power of some sort. “This would be why…” Liz responds softly, holding up her hand.
"Ok, whatever. Explanations later. I mean it." I say simply and look at Isabel who seems to be at the same level as I am where this whole thing is concerned.
"Let's go see this thing," Max says after doing something to help Liz, I assume.
"I've already gotten a bit of a look at it." I say, but rather then say anything else, simply walk ahead since I now know exactly where it is and River Dog is actually waiting by it since he'd been a bit tired when we reached it.
As we walked, I thought it was kind of strange when I saw a lone wolf standing not far from where the symbol was. Reaching it, I step aside and turn to look at Max and Isabel as I motioned, "There it is."
Isabel simply seemed to gasp and look at Max questioningly. "It's..real. It's.. from 'Home'." I heard her whispered words.
River Dog stood off to the side, obviously not wanting to interrupt.

"It's..real. It's.. from 'Home'." Isabel whispers, looking at me. I nod, knowing she's right. Releasing Liz's hand, I step forward and kneel next to the symbol.
With a glance at Isabel, I move my hand over the symbol, about six inches above the ground. Although I had no idea what to expect, or even if I should expect anything, I'm not surprised when the symbol starts to emit light. The light is bright and I'm sure that this is exactly what the 'sighting' was earlier in the week.
Isabel and Michael kneel beside me, extending their hands in the same way as mine. I can feel a energy coming from it. Something subtle and yet definately familiar, although I haven't any idea what it really is. But I know one thing.
"This was left for us," I say.

"No, it's okay," I tell Moria as I sit with her. I can tell she's not really ready to be alone. Besides, being here gives me something to do besides be mad at my dad.
Well, I guess actually I could be looking for Liz. It seems that Mr. Parker is looking for her too, and I could help. I could be trying to figure out what's really on with Maria and Alex. But this seems like the best thing to do, at the moment.
"Mista's gonna be okay. We're all going to be okay. Dad will take care of it." And he will, I know. He's a terrific Sheriff. It's just being a dad that he sucks at. At least, recently...

"It's..real. It's.. from 'Home'." I whisper, glancing at my brother as Michael stepped aside. My brother nodded and actually moved to kneel next to the symbol first, but I wasn't far behind. Michael moved up with me and as Max placed his hand above the symbol without touching it, it seemed to react.
This was it. There was nothing that could make me think otherwise. It was this, it was real. It was contact from someone like us. I extend my hand in the same manner as Max and soon Michael is doing the same. The energy that exudes from it is both comforting yet confusing.
"This was left for us," Max says, and I nod.
I couldn't help but feel that somehow we were supposed to understand something about this. "What do you think we're supposed to get from this?" I asked, looking at everyone gathered not just Max. As I glanced around, I noticed that a wolf had moved closer and there was something familiar about the depth of it's eyes. I just couldn't place it. "Wolves aren't naturally seen around here.." I commented softly.

"No, it's okay," Kyle responds, obviously trying to be comforting which from what I was used to hearing and seeing at school, it didn't seem like him at all. Still, it was interesting to see this side of him. Mista said she always believed he had a heart, but I never thought to tell her she was right. Now, when I saw her again, I would.
"Mista's gonna be okay. We're all going to be okay. Dad will take care of it." I don't want to hurt the kids feelings as he obviously seems so certain of his father's abilities, but my sensitive hearing picks up the sounds of the wolves moving closer which means some of the zombies haven't been slowed.
"Kyle, there are things out there.... things that guns won't stop.." I began, my arm was throbbing, but I had a feeling there would be no healing change just yet. My voice easily caught as I spoke simply because of the pain, but I decided to stop the act. I looked up at him, the scent of blood reaching my nose caused me to feel my beast swimming toward the surface of my being, but I held it back. "Please... listen.. heed me.." I began, letting my very real distress be heard and seen, "If I say to get down or to move... please just do it.. I know.. these.. things.. seen them before.. I don't want.. anything.. to happen to you."
I'd barely finished speaking when a pained wolf howled from nearby and was suddenly thrown toward camp. As the wolf landed, I cried out in horror. I saw the wound and knew that there was only one way that the wolf would live, that my ex-fiance' would make it. Without thinking, I shrugged off the arm that Kyle had around me and ran, nursing my bad arm before I fell to my knees beside the wolf. The gaping hole showed that his heart was still in tact, but several nerves were destroyed.
Turning, I glanced at Kyle. "Help! Get blankets and a stick of firewood." Currently, my pain was forgotten as I paid attention to the animal in my embrace and leaned down to whisper gently. "Dave, don't you dare die."

Max reaches for my hand as he realises what’s happening, and I can see the questioning look in Michael’s eyes even as he says explanations later…
“I got ya…”
I smile at the simple words. Such a little thing, yet it means so much… I smile softly and nod, walking along side him Michael leads the way, his words indicating that he has already had time to visit the site and then come find us…
As we approach the clearing, I’m somewhat surprised to make out another figure. It quickly proves to be Riverdog, and I nod slightly, holding back as Max, Isabel and Michael all kneel down by the symbol…
Something from their home… Something left for them… What can it mean…? Questions run through my head, but I know they’re ones we have no answers to… This is important to them though…to Max, Michael and Isabel…
For a moment I wonder why I’m here then…this being something that is ‘theirs’…I know that Michael didn’t want me here, and Isabel questioned my presence too… When I think about it though, I know I already have the answer to that question… I’m here because it’s important to Max, and that makes it important to me…
After hesitating another moment, I come to a decision and step forward. My hand brushes against Max’s, but that’s not intentional. It causes me to smile, but that’s not where my attention is focused… I’m studying the shape, the pattern the light is emitting… A whirlwind… I’ve seen that before, and I think I know where… “Wasn’t there a symbol like this on the wall in the cave…?” I comment thoughfully, more speaking to myself than anyone else.
OOC: I'm really sorry guys, I know this probably sucks, but it's taken me ages to get this much and I really can't afford much longer. I know that I'm holding people up in places at the moment, I'm very sorry, I am trying to get back into writing just having a bit of writer's block at the moment which I'm struggling to overcome...

"Yes," I answer Liz, absent-mindedly. Most of my attention is focused on this symbol and the bright light eminating from it. I feel that there's a message here, somewhere just beyond my grasp. If I could only figure out how to hear it...
"It was on the map," I say to Liz and the others. Michael had put the first of the healing stones next to this 'whorlwind' symbol when he made that 'V' shaped pattern on the wall -- the starmap. This was the same symbol Isabel and I had made in the sand when we were still small. They symbol on the pendant we found at Atherton's. It's important. I just don't know what it means...
Then Isabel comments about the wolf that seems to be watching us. The animal could be attracted by the light but it seems he'd be more likely to want to avoid that, unless he was rabid. Or maybe, it's something-else. Reluctantly, I get to my feet. I watch the animal closely, ready to act if he comes closer but most of my attention remains on the symbol and the message that I couldn't quite seem to hear...
"A shapeshifter?" I suggest, tentatively. If this is Nacedo, then he could have many answers that we've waited for all our lives, but we also know he's a murderer. He killed Atherton and the man in the photos that the Sheriff showed Liz and probably others.

Even as I try to comfort Moria, I can hear my father talking to Mr. Parker and Mr. Evans. He's promising to find Liz and Isabel and Max for them. "I have a pretty good idea where to look," he says.
This definately catches my interest and I look up as he heads off into the woods, his firearm drawn and ready. I notice that he's heading away from the toilets which is where I'm pretty sure Maria was claiming Liz had gone. I wonder what he's suspecting. If Liz is involved, I want to know about it.
I'm about to try and figure out how to get someone-else to sit with Moria fast enough so I can follow, when suddenly Moria's distress seems to grow more urgent. "Kyle, there are things out there.... things that guns won't stop..."
Guns can't stop em? What could it be? My dad only has his gun. Is he in danger?
"Please... listen.. heed me... If I say to get down or to move... please just do it.. I know.. these.. things.. seen them before.. I don't want.. anything.. to happen to you," she begs. She's speaking strangely but she's really upset. She really believes what she's saying is true and it sounds like it's very real trouble.
"Moria, if you know something, you have to tell me. My father is out there and his men. I can't let them be hurt," I say quickly, but before she can respond a wolf-howl interupted me and a bloody wolf actually flew out of the woods and into the camp, landing nearby. Before I could stop her, Moria raced to the animal.
"Help! Get blankets and a stick of firewood," she demanded and then said to the wolf. "Dave, don't you dare die."
"Dave?" I repeat, in confusion but quickly put that aside. I grab her by the shoulders and try to pull her back. "It's wounded. It'll hurt you. You have to get away," I tell her.

Max confirms my thoughts, elaborating on exactly where the symbol was in the cave. I can see his focus seems to be elsewhere though, and as Isabel mentions the wolf, I have to admit it’s curious…
Max seems a little surprised by it too, and he seems to think a moment before speaking again. “A shapeshifter…?”
I can hear the tension in his voice, and I can’t say that I blame him… On one side, if it were him, this person could have so many answers they’ve all wanted for so long, but on the other side, we know what he’s capable of…I saw the pictures…
Those bodies… The pictures Valenti showed me flash through my mind and I feel myself stiffen. He’s killed people… I remember what he told me, and the things that Riverdog said that night…
Nacedo, whoever he is, is dangerous…
Turning, I study the wolf more carefully, and I have to admit, Isabel is right… It does look like it’s watching us…
I bite my lip nervously and without really thinking too much about it because if I do, I know I won’t do this… I step away from Max slightly, approaching the wolf with slow, silent motions, and then dropping down onto one knee so that it’s level with my eyeline. It’s dangerous I know…and yet somehow, I just can’t help it…

"Liz, no!" I hiss through clenched teeth as she starts to approach the wolf. This could be very dangerous.
I hesitate for just a moment. If this is a shape-shifter, then he's an alien and we won't be revealed. If it's a wolf, then it's a dumb animal and it will know nothing. I'm not sure what to do, but I'm sure I have to do something.
Taking one step towards Liz, I raise my hand. "Stop," I say. Not loud, but enough that Liz and the animal can hear me. The animal/shapeshifter takes one step forward and I react. Instantly, there's a glowing green field between the wolf and Liz. It looks translucent, nothing more than light, but I know it can hold the animal back, if it is an animal.
