Liz hugged Max good bye as he left. She couldn't believe that this young man cared so much for her, in the short time they had known each other. What surprised her even more was that she was falling for him.
"So do you want to hang out tomorrow?" Asked Max
"Wish I could. But I have to finish my history paper."
"I could come over and help you."
"Uh I don't think so. I tend to get distracted a lot when you are around lately."
"Really why is that?"
"Well you are more intrasting to look at then my homework."
"Really?"
"Max, I really like you and you do make me feel things that I never thought possible after what happened."
"Liz, you should have never have had to go through that."
"I know. But it is over. I have found out that I have some really great people in my life."
"I hope you count me as one of them."
"You know I do."
"Good grief! Will you two stop flirting and kiss already!" Said Isabel
Liz blushed. Max just smiled. He pulled her close and lean down and gave her a soft kiss. Liz felt something she never felt before when she felt Max's soft warm lips on hers. It was a good feeling, warm and she knew that this had to be what it felt like when you were starting to fall in love. Max pulled away and smiled.
"Good night Liz."
"Night Max."
Liz shut the door and Max and Isabel headed for home. They were only half a block from Liz's when Tess came out of nowhere. She walked right up to Max a big smile on her face.
"Hi Max!" Said Tess
"Oh hi" mumbled Max
"So Max, I was hoping we can go out on Friday night." Said Tess
"Tess, that isn't going to happen. I don't want to go out with you."
"Come on I am a hell of a lot more fun than that Liz Parker."
"I happen to think Liz is a lot of fun to be around."
"Oh please she is nothing but a slut that was fucking her stepfather."
Max's married his eyes and grabbed Tess bringing her inches from his face.
"You better listen and listen good! Liz, is not a slut. What that bastard did to her was rape! If I so much as hear you say another bad word about Liz again you will pay are we clear?" Said Max
"Oh and Tess I wouldn't go calling someone a slut if I were you. I happen to know that you have screwed half the football team. I even heard about what happened at the end of the year party last year. What was five or six guys you were with that night?" Said Isabel
"You are nothing but a bitch Isabel." Said Tess
"Yeah, well I don't give a shit what a scanky, gribil like you thinks. Stay the hell away from my brother. Oh and if you spread any rumors about Liz. I will make sure everyone knows what a slut you really are." Said Isabel
Tess let out a scream and stormed off down the sidewalk. Max looked at his sister raising an eyebrow.
"Scanky girbil?" Asked Max
"Well a lot of girls at school think she is a girbil, and she does sleep around. So I just called it as I saw it."
Max gave his sister a smile. They were about to head home when a scream ripped through the night air. They looked at each other.
"LIZ!" They yelled and took off running back to her house.
