Kyle

I heard my phone ring. I picked the phone up and yawned. "Hello" I mumbled.

"Kyle, we're meeting at my place and I suggest you get here and join us" Michael says.

"Huh, what? Why're we meeting?" I asked. "And why do I have to join you?" I sighed and yawned again. I was just too tired for having a conversation with Guerin.

'It better be important...' I though to myself.

I know it's not good but it's something.

Sorry, sorry...

Also- Is- I edited that post- you were right, I'm just dumb at the moment.

As the door opens Max and Liz enter, Max rushing to me and envoloping me in a crushing hug. I take a deep breath and feel myself relax now that Max is here. I hold him tightly, not yet ready to let go.
'I'm really scared Max' He doesn't say anything, just lightly strokes my hair for a second before pulling back and bending down and smiling directly into my eyes.
I feel myself begin to smile a little back and my breathing evens. I hadn't realised, but I feel like I've been holding my breath since the little girl appeared to me.
'There's a little girl Max, and she was in my room, and Michael saw her too. What's going on?'

I'm glad when Isabel seems to calm although I know she's scared. I know this is just the beginning of something, and it's probably something big. We have to figure it out and get through it. We have to stay safe and not panic...

I smile at her, looking into her eyes to let her know that I'm here for her. "It'll be okay," I promise.

'There's a little girl Max, and she was in my room, and Michael saw her too. What's going on?" Isabel asks.

I frown at that, glancing at the floor and then at Michael and Maria. This keeps me from looking at Liz, behind me. "This girl? Was she about 13 or 14 years old? Short hair?"

Isabel nods and I can see her eyes widening - either in surprise or fear - I'm not sure. Either way, I have to explain.

"I saw her, too," I confirm. "Well, I didn't actually see her," I clarify as my frown deepens. "Liz called 'cause someone put a symbol on the wall of her balcony. One of the symbols from the cave. When I touched it, I saw the girl. She put it there, using powers like ours..."

I look around at their shocked expressions. I'm not sure what to make of it, either, but I'm glad I got out our explanation for me being at Liz's place. "Is Tess on her way?"

That's good, too, I tell myself. Asking after Tess first thing. I had asked mostly because she's one of us and needs to be part of this, although as a side benefit, it makes it look like I'm still open to Tess, rather than Liz... Not that Alex and Liz aren't important parts of the group, too. Or even Kyle. But this is an alien symbol and someone using alien powers. Tess is a hybrid so she may be most at risk. Plus her powers and her knowledge will be helpful...

OOC: Just a note..... Our Tess, Fallen Magic hasn't posted in a while. I'll contact her and find out if she's still interested, in the meantime I guess I'll temp for her unless Isabelle wants to since she's written with her longer then I have.

~Michael~

Sleep hazed, I hear Kyle on the other end and curb my frustration. "Just get here. And if Tess is there, get her too." Before Kyle can argue or ask anymore questions I hang up the phone and look over just as Max is explaining what happened at Liz's and asking about Tess. We hadn't really gotten around to calling her cell, but if she wasn't with Kyle then she would need to know what was going on as well.

"Someone can call her cell if they want." I certainly didn't feel comfortable calling her. The little I knew about her powers both excited me and made me nervous. Still, I shrugged. "Or I'll call her."

Taking a deep breath, I dialed the number and held the phone up to my ear as I waited. It rang twice and instantly went to voice mail which could mean two things. One, she was busy or two, she had it shut off. "Tess, this is Michael. The gang is getting together at my house to discuss something very serious. Get here as soon as you can. If you are with Kyle, then just ignore this message because he's already been told."

Damn, I hate machines. Sometimes I even wonder what the point of phone's is.

I overhear enough of Michael's phone conversation to realize that he was talking to Kyle and didn't even ask if Tess was there, just told Kyle to find her. I guess that'll work, although it would be nice to know if she were around.

"Someone could call her cell, if they want," Michael says before suddenly volunteering to do it himself.

That's right, I realize with a mental slap to my forehead. Tess got a new cell phone, too, for the same reason I did. She'd even called with the number. Why didn't I think of that when Liz and I were on the way over here? I'd blame on simply not being used to having that means of communication, but Liz being there also affected things, plus the problem of the strange girl... And actually, I hadn't programmed it into my phone yet, either. I'll have to do that tonight.

Michael leaves a message, which makes me frown. We need her here. I wish there was a way to track her down. I only hope she's actually with Kyle. Michael somehow managed to not actually get an answer to that.

I shake my head. "We need Tess," I say, frowning. "We need everyone. Something is definately going on." Looking around at Isabel, Michael and Maria, I ask. "What was she doing when you saw her? Did she 'paint' symbols here, too?"

'Paint symbols?' I look quizically at my brother. 'No, she just appeared in my room and talked to me like she knew me, and she knew everything about me. ' She said "Isabel. Someone needs your help. He needs all of you.' and then she disappeared. I called Michael and came over here. I don't understand it, I thought one of you might.'

Feeling shivers start up and down my arms I rub them a little and I smile gratefully and Max takes a step closer and takes my hand, squeezing it lightly. We both turn to Michael waiting for his version, and although I know that nothing has really changed, having Max there makes all the difference.

I sighed when Michael just hung up. I mumbled something to myself and looked around. I wasn't sure if Tess was home. I hadn't seen her...well of course not I had been sleeping. I sighed and though she'd probably get called to her cellphone anyway. I needed to get dressed and go to Michaels for some annoying reason.

I got dressed and looked for my keys. Hm...where were they now? Geez, if this was some stupid thing Michael woke me up for he was going to get his ass kicked.

EDIT: Sorry...I'll leave it there and post something..

Um... I believe Tess is still standing outside the bus that the CE 2030 crew is in...

My eyes widen as I listen to Isabel's description of her encounter with the mysterious girl. What she said, 'all of you,' and even the way she knew we could help someone... It certainly sounds like she knows about us. Of course, if she is an alien as her powers would indicate, that's not too surprising.

It sounds like she's a friend soliciting help, but it could still be a trap by the skins or Khivar or anyone...

As I take Isabel by the hand to comfort her, I wonder what Liz thinks of this, but I don't look in her direction. Not yet. I turn with Isabel to see what Michael and Maria saw, what they think.

~Michael~

I listened as Isabel explained what happened and then simply nodded, "The little girl said that same thing to me and Maria, then she simply vanished in thin air. I'm not quite sure what to think. Other then I can't help but wonder if it'll be some sort of trap."

I moved to sit back beside Maria as she nodded at Liz as she responded to her friends concern, "I'm fine. I'm just a bit confused." She took out a small vial and then smiled guiltily as she sniffed the oil, "Alright, I'm a bit nervous about who the girl was and what she was doing here and how she's able to do what she did. I mean, appearing out of thin air and then disappearing the same way... I'm babbling.."

I put my arm around her shoulder and rolled my eyes. No matter how long I had been with Maria I could never get over her being like that. Still, I was slowly getting used to holding her a bit when she was and letting her gain a bit of comfort even if it annoyed me at times.

OOC: far from happy about this, it doesn't seem to flow right, but it is the best I can do and gets Liz up to date, hopefully my next will be a whole lot better sorry.

~Liz~

Although I’m doing my best not to look at him, I can’t help looking over once. He’s holding Isabel tightly, trying to comfort her.

“There’s a little girl Max, and she was in my room, and Michael saw her too…”

They actually saw the little girl… Well that’s somewhat different from us, although of course if she did come onto the balcony we were rather preoccupied at the time… I do my best to keep an even expressing on my face, simply holding Maria’s hand and keeping up a front.

“What’s going on…?”

As Isabel asks this, I know that it’s the question we haven’t got an answer for… I don’t think any of us understand this…that’s the reason for the meeting to some extent I would imagine…

I can’t help looking at Max again, given that he’s right in front of me, and I see him frown. He look from Isabel, down onto the floor, and then to Michael and Maria, all the time keeping his gaze from resting on me even for a second. This tactic of not even acknowledging my presence is one I know I’m going to have to get used to, but it doesn’t make it any easier…

Isabel is not the only person who’s worried about this… Whoever this little girl is, she’s been on my balcony too, now whether that was because it was where Max was, or whether it was aimed at me, or even both of us, I don’t know, but she was there, and since we don’t know whether she’s friend or foe, what if she comes back…?

Swallowing, I know that I already know much of what’s going to come next, but I try to concentrate on what Max is saying. Just hearing his voice helps…although I know he’s worried himself, and I wish I could be there for him…

“This girl? Was she about 13 or 14 years old? Short hair?”

Isabel nods, confirming what I think we already knew from the moment she mentioned the girl…it’s the same one… She looks alarmed and Max goes on to explain some of what happened, using the story we came up with while still at my house. It’s good to know that explanation is out of the way, and so far no one really seems to be doubting us, so I guess that’s a start…

When Max next asks about Tess, I’m surprised when Michael mentions her cell, proceeding to phone it. I didn’t even know she had one…then again I’m not exactly someone she’s likely to give the number to am I…? Either way, in the end it doesn’t produce any better results cos she’s apparently not answering. Michael leaves a message and I know we need her here. We need the whole group…

As Max starts easking exactly what she did, or said, I notice again that he’s looking anywhere except at me. Of course that makes sense, he knows what happened on my balcony…he was there…

Isabel seems surprised at the mention of painting symbols. She hakes her head. "No, she just appeared in my room and talked to me like she knew me, and she knew everything about me. She said 'Isabel. Someone needs your help. He needs all of you.' and then she disappeared. I called Michael and came over here. I don't understand it, I thought one of you might."

Someone needs your help… I don’t like the sounds of that much…

Michael then confirms that the same happened with Maria and himself. Maria’s finally looking a little more together, but she’s obviously still nervous. She tells me she’s ok, but it’s obvious she’s not…not totally… Of the three of us who were originally involved in this secret, Maria’s had the most trouble although now I know she trusts them, and she loves Michael… Still, this freaky new figure hasn’t gone down well with any of us, so there’s no reason why she should be calm about her…

As Michael moves to put his arm around Maria, I realize that I’m not really needed anymore and release her hand, allowing Michael to comfort her. She’s got him…she doesn’t need me…I don’t know if I’ve ever felt so alone…
