"Hi."
I jump up in surprise, so not expecting Isabel to let me in. Well, she didn't let me in yet, she just opened the door but it's a start, isn't it?
I just stand there and look at her for a moment. God, she's so beautiful, I can't ruin this, I have to try as hard as I can to make her believe me. I'd even beg if I have to.
At least it doesn't like she was crying, I would have hated to make her cry.
"Hey." I softly say, unsure how to continue now that she's looking at me with those big brown eyes. "I ... I'm sorry for earlier. I know what it looked like but really, nothing happened. Nothing! If I wasn't so shocked to see Leanna in my appartement, I would have kicked her out immediately but ... it was a huge shock to see her without any warnings. I'm not Grant, Isabel. I ... I wouldn't do that to you. I don't want to lose you when I just found you."

Resting the side of my head against the door I listen to him explain once more about how Leanna was in his apartment and how he was too shocked to do anything.The one thing that stands out in his explanation is,"I'm not Grant, Isabel. I ... I wouldn't do that to you. I don't want to lose you when I just found you."
Looking down,I whisper,"I thought I had lost you." and then lift my head to look at him again "I know you're nothing like him that's why I was so shocked and hurt and stunned."

"Never gonna happen." I reply as quietly as Isabel, looking into her eyes, hoping that she can see that I mean it.
"I know you're nothing like him that's why I was so shocked and hurt and stunned."
"I probably would have reacted the same way." I admit after a moment. "And I'm sorry that I hurt you, I never wanted to do that."
We stand there for a few seconds, just looking at each other, not saying a word or moving a bit. "Can I ... can I come in?"

I think I am falling in love with him.
How is it that I have gone from angry to happy in a matter of seconds? I know that I can trust him and I was stupid to just run like that without demanding an explanation.
"Can I ... can I come in?"
Without answering I open the door further,letting him step in and shut it behind him.Misty comes up to us at that very moment,"This is my cat,you missed her last night and this morning,she was sleeping and I am sorry for ever doubting you,it's just that we haven't together for very long and I didn't knwo what to think and I didn't know that,that girl was Leanna."
I know I am rambling like an idiot but I am feeling terribly foolish right now for over-reacting the way I did.
"I probably would have reacted the same way. And I'm sorry that I hurt you, I never wanted to do that."

Quickly, I step into Isabel's appartement before she can change her mind. Only a few minutes later, I feel something brush my legs, looking down, I spot a ... well, not fat, but well kept cat walking around my legs, rubbing its head against them.
"This is my cat,you missed her last night and this morning,she was sleeping and I am sorry for ever doubting you,it's just that we haven't together for very long and I didn't knwo what to think and I didn't know that,that girl was Leanna."
If the situation were any different, I'd probably lean down to stroke the cat's head but right now, I couldn't care less about it. Deciding to be daring, I take a step towards Isabel, hugging her tightly to me. Taking a deep breath, inhaling the scent of her parfume, I put my cheek against her head, immensly grateful that she hasn't pushed me away yet.
"You had every right to be confused and angry about the situation, Iz. I'm the one who has to be sorry because I didn't react any quicker and didn't explain the situation."

I agree wholeheartedly with that. I can't believe it, we worked things out! Things are fine again between us. Well, probably not as great as they were five hours ago but we are past the Leanna fiasco. thank God!

"In a minute." I reply, not wanting to miss this opportunity, now that Isabel's in my arms again. Framing her face with my hands, I lean down slowly, kissing her softly.
Well, at least it started out softly but after a few seconds, I think again about how close I was to losing Isabel and immediately deepen the kiss, just to assure myself that I still can kiss her.
"Let's just promise each other to always give each other the benefit of the doubt from the next time onwards."

"In a minute." he says framing my face with his hands and I shut my eyes in anticipation of the kiss to come and when our lips touch I sigh happily and lean against him,wrapping my arms around his torso tightly and kiss him back hungrily when he intesifies the lip-lock.After what seems like many many minutes I pull away ever so slightly,so that I lips are just about touching,"I think a minute is long over Alex." my voice comes out ragged "We better go before we are dreadfully late and miss everything.We can continue this later."

"Promises promises." I joke with a teasing grin before my attention shifts to slightly behind Isabel where her cat is watching us. Yes, watching us - that's one voyeuristic cat!
"I don't want to worry you Isabel, but we've been watched."
"I think a minute is long over Alex." "We better go before we are dreadfully late and miss everything.We can continue this later."

We hold each other for a bit longer before I notice Alex looking over my shoulder,"I don't want to worry you Isabel, but we've been watched."
Raising one eye brow at him,I turn my head slightly to look behind me and notice Misty,sitting not far from my feet,looking up at the two of us with those typical inquiring cat expressions on her face and I cant help but chuckle.
"Yes,she's very possessive about me but then again she's a cat so as long as you pet her when she wants to be petted and feed her she'll like you in no time."
Stepping away from him I take my keys off the hook near the door and take Alex's hand in mine,"Come on Whitman,I think it's time to make a move before we end up spending the rest of the evening here."
