She hugs me, kisses my cheek and takes my hand and I realize that I really want us to try to be closer. Along those lines, I decide to confess something to her...something Lonnie has probably already told her but I still feel it's important to tell her. "I'm sure Lonnie has already told you, Ava, but I'm trying really hard to change for her. I'm working towards changing my whole way of thinking around. I look back on the way I've treated her in the past, and everyone else for that matter, and I realize that I've always been afraid that if I wasn't ruling or dominating them with a heavy hand and force, then they would leave me or I'd be weak or something."

I shake my head at my own foolishness. "So much time wasted. I realize now that love doesn't make you weak. I know I still have a lot of changes to make but it takes time and I really want to make this work." I grin as I imagine Vilandra pregnant with our child and with another one about her skirts. "I can't wait to show her what a great father I'll be."

We walk a little farther and I realize that Ava is being awfully quiet. "Are you ok, Ava? You've been really quiet."

~KIVAR~

I smile down at her and give her a brief hug. "Don't cry, little sister. Things are looking up, for both of us and there's still time. Things can only get better, and I think since we both want to be closer, we'll find a way, despite the distance. There are communicators and I did promise Vilandra a vacation on Valentia after Moxon's trial is over. I'd like to take another look at this man who you say makes you so happy."

Looking at my watch I give her a disappointed smile. "It's getting late. I'm afraid I have another appointment in a few minutes. But I've enjoyed our talk and walking with you." I hug her again briefly and turn so that we're walking back towards the palace.

OOC-Just tell me where Liz and Maria are and then I will post for Michael.

oops. I didn't mean to leave them at breakfast for so long. I was just kind of waiting for another Alex post. No problem. I'll fix it.

~LIZ~

As I finish eating, I stand up and brush a quick kiss on my brother's cheek. "I'm going to read up on some things in my chambers before the audience. If you need me that's where I'll be. Maria, do you need some help back to your rooms?" I ask her.

I have several reports of things that I need to go over and also a fitting for the gown I am supposed to wear when I meet Prince Xan for the first time.

~MARIA~

I sigh. "No thanks, Liz. I should be fine. It'll just take me a little bit to get back," I say as I stand. "I think I'll work on my Valentian a little bit. I haven't spent any time studying it in a while and I don't want to forget what I've already learned." I put my crutches underneath my arms and tell Alex, "Have a good morning, cuz. I'll hopefully see you later."

Then I move to the door slowly as Liz holds it open for me. Hobbling along down the hall, she tries to keep pace with my slowness when I stop and wave her ahead. "It's ok, Lizzie. You don't have to wait for me. I know you have things to do before 10. I'll be fine."

She places a quick kiss on my cheek and says, "I'm sorry, Maria, but you'll be running around at your usual speed again in no time." She skips on down the hall and I can't help but wonder if she isn't looking forward to seeing a certain dark haired bodyguard this morning. I shake my head as I start off down the hall again. Why didn't I just have breakfast brought to me this morning?

Downing my second cup of coffee quickly,I move out of the staff kitchen...how I miss home right now...and move off in the direction of the Princess' room since that is where she should be accoring to one of the ladies in waiting that I passed near the dining hall.I will go and check on Lady Maria later but duty calls first and I must see that Elizabeth is alright.Max must be somewhere close by because I can feel his presence.He must still be sulking after I pulled his leg earlier one.Coming to a halt outside her door,I knock twice and wait for her to answer.

Occ: Trude, I'm sorry but Jeff left the room a while ago. Alex is the only one, other than probably a servant or two, in the dining room.

~LIZ~

I had just sat down at my desk and was looking over some letters sent to me, when I hear a knock at my door. Glancing over at it, I call out, "Come in." I wonder who's at the door. I don't think it's likely to be Maria. I stamp down the hope that rises in me that it's Max standing on the other side of that door.

~MARIA~

I finally make it to my room and collapse on my chaise lounge. I put my bad ankle up so as to keep it from swelling and tentatively move it a little. It hurts but not unbearably so. There's a knock on my door and after I've called out for whoever it is to come in, Rosa, the maid comes in with a vase of various flowers. "These came for you, my lady," she tells me, placing them on a small table by me. I smile brightly and take the card that's with them. My smile falls a little when I see they are from Sir William.

"I look forward to meeting with you later today. I'll be counting the hours. Your's forever, Sir William of Padula."

I thank Rosa and ask her to pass me my book on learning Valentian. She does so and I put all thoughts of flowers, suitors and such out of my mind to try to concentrate on my learning.
