Did I hear correctly I asked myself...he wants to take a walk in the garden after dinner...this is definitely a first for me

I nodded my head in agreement..."That sounds great,I'd love to show you around."...I was practically beaming,my smile must have been reaching my ears.

I could tell I have the "stupid grin" as Kyle calls it, but I don't care. I'm way to happy to care. This is amazing. She said she'd take a walk in the garden with me. God I must be in heaven already.

Oh god,he has the most charming grin I've ever seen,I feel like hugging him right now...I blushed at that thought...he was asking me about Maria...

"Yes...we are cousins,all our mothers are sisters.Liz,Maria and I have always been close,you know...spending summer vacations together,corresponding through letters,we even went to Paris together one summer"...I smiled as I recalled that great experience

"But umm...we don't really know Tess too well"...I said as I looked in her direction..."she lives too far away so the last time we all met her was when we were say 4-5 yrs old."

It suddenly strikes me that maybe I was boring him with my fmaily history..."Oh gosh!I'm sure I'm boring you with all these details"...I said apologetically..."Tell me about yourself...like where did you study,what's your family like?"

I stand there listening to her family and admiring her beauty when she suddenly gets the idea I'd rather talk about myself than listen to her.
"No no! I was actually enjoying you talking about your family. It's obvious your a very close family which is really nice."
I laugh.
"My family is just about the opposite of that. It's just me and my parents. Let's just say father's not too impressed with his only heir. I think he wishes it was me who died rather than Doug."
I can see Isabel looking at me.
"There was a carriage accident. Just him and I in it. He didn't make it. I came out with cuts and bruises."
I sigh.
"Sorry, there's me going on and getting all depressing. So, Isabel, are you looking forward to your coming out?" I ask.

I could see the pain in his eyes when he mentioned his brother...damn why did I have to bring his family up...

"Alex I am so sorry,if I had had any idea I would not have brought your family up"...involuntarily my hand reached out and gave his a little squeez...I think he was as surprised as I was by my boldness

"And I am sure your father loves you"...I said re-assuringly..."maybe he's still grieving"...it struck me that my father and brothers would get along with Alex very well..."Maybe one day you could visit my home."...I said before I could stop myself

"For you...just this once I will leave her alone...Okay!!" I told him and thought to myself-- "Geeze, once you think you've found the one...it's amazing how that idea get's shot down." I smiled at walked out of the room as Kyle was quick to follow, and heading straight towards Tess.

Servant:

Properly announcing.. "DINNER IS SERVED.."

**Making our way to the formal dinning area.**

Max:

I looked at Kyle we quickly sat next to Tess, Rath next to Maria, Alex to Isabel, and I lacked behind everyone one else and found the last avaliable seat next to Liz. But before sitting down--I pulled out the chair for her. She quickly nodded her head in appreciation, and I sat down next to her. Everyone is involed in there own world...in there own discussion. I look to my left and there is Liz sipping her water--I decided to be the first to ask... "So, having a good time?" I asked.

[OCC: Remember that Max and Liz aren't suppose to hit it off right away, they get thrown together...they do alot of harmless bickering first ]

When she gave my hand a squeeze I felt tremors running down my spine.
"Maybe one day you could visit my home."
Did she just say that? Oh crikey.
I'm just staring at her.
*Well say something you idiot* my brain shouted at me.
"Wow, that would be nice" I tell her smiling. "I would love to meet your family. They sound really nice." I say knowing that the "stupid grin" was coming out again.

I sighed with relief...he didn't seem to mind my being so forward and inviting him to visit me at home...Alex had this effect on me...I couldnt' quite describe it except that it made my tongue run away from me...I smiled to myslef at that thought

We all proceeded to the dining room,Alex sat down next to me much to my delight...I knew that I would harldy be able to get anything down because I was already thinking about our after dinner stroll in the garden.
