Great Chapter!!!! Please please please please please please please please come back and post more really really really really soon? I can't wait to read what will happen next for Max and Liz. I'm glad that Serena was there for Liz when she woke up from her nightmare. So Kim is thinking about the past and Liz. I wonder who is the guardian that is watching Kim and protecting Kim and Liz. I agree with the guardian about Sean and Tess Harding. I hope the person will catch Sean and Tess doing something before they hurt Max and Liz. Will the guardian catch Sean and Tess doing something before Max and Liz get hurt? What will the person catch them do? Will the person stop Sean and Tess? Will Max, Isabel, Alex, Serena, Kyle, Maria, Michael, Sara, Mrs. Evans be able to protect Liz from Sean and Tess?

Part 25

Liz walked into the court house she was surprised to find Max sitting outside the court room that Richard's trial was taking place.

"Max hi! What are you doing here?" Asked Liz as he gave her a hug.
"My parents let me take the day off from school to be here for you. Actually Isabel, and my mom are already sitting in the court room. I just wanted to wish you luck in your testimony." Said Max
"Thank you! This means so much to me."
"That is very kind of you Max." Said Sarah
"Ms. Kent, Liz is a very special girl."
"Yes she is." Sarah agreed
"I should get in there."

Max leaned down and placed a soft kiss on the top of her head. He then headed into the court room. Liz took a seat on the bench outside next to Sarah who took her hand and gave it a squeeze. It was twenty minutes later that Liz was called into the court room. Liz walked to the witness stand with her head held hide, dispite the fear running through her.

"Do you sware to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth?" Asked the court officer
"Yes." Said Liz
"Please state your name and age for the record." Said Ms. Lopez
"Elizabeth Parker. I am fifteen, but will turn sixteen on Saturday." Said Liz
"Thank you. Now Miss Parker, the dependent is your stepfather true?"
"Yes ma'am. He married my mother when I was eight."

Liz continued to answer questions and tell of the abuse she had suffered at his hands. When it was the defences turn to question her. She held strong and didn't let them break her down. When she was done and heading back to taking a seat with her friends she passed her stepfather who leaned over to her.

"You little slut! You are going to pay for what you have done." Said Richard

The court officer that was standing right there glared at the cold hearted bastard. But the judge had heard the comment as had the jury.

"Officer remove the defendant! Mr. Carter, the charges of contempt of court and treating a witness are here by added to the charges you all ready face." Said the judge

The trial went on for the rest of the week. It turned out three other young women had come forward to testify against Richard Carter. It was now late Friday afternoon, word had just come down that the jury had reached a verdict. Liz and her friends a long with Kimberly and the three other young women gathered in the court room to hear what the jury had to say.

"Mister forman has the jury reached a verdict?"asked the judge
"We have your honor." Said the jury forman
"How does the jury find?"
"On count one child abuse in the first degree guilty, on count two rape of a minor guilty. On count assault with the intent to do great bodily harm guilty."

Liz sat there between Max and Serena with them holding her hands as each charge came back at guilty.

"The court thanks the jury." Said the judge
"Your honor, before we go, we the jury would like to wish Miss Parker a happy birthday tomorrow." Said the forman
"I will add my wishes to that. Miss Parker have a happy birthday." Said the judge
"Thank you." Said Liz softly

After leaving leaving the court house everyone headed to the Crashdown. Amy DuLuca looked at the group as they came in. She had been watching Kimberly's daughter while they were all at the court house.

"Well don't keep me waiting." Said Amy
"Guilty on all the charges." Said Maria
"You girls doing OK?" Asked Amy
"Yeah Ms. DuLuca. I am just glad that it is over." Said Liz
"Me too. So was Beth any trouble?" Asked Kim
"No she was a little angel." Said Amy
"Really? That is rare. Most of the time she gives her sitters trouble." Said Kim
"Only the ones I don't like mommy. Ms. Amy is nice." Said Beth

Kim just shook her head and huged her daughter.

Maybe now Liz can start to relax. She still has a lot to deal with and go through - and she'll never fully get rid of the trauma she's been exposed to - but at least this is a start.

So glad Max, Isabel and Diane were all at court to support Liz. She needed that!
And three other women came forth......nail in the coffin. Guilty, guilty, guilty.
I hope Kimberly and her daughter will have a good life now.

I'm so glad that Richard Carter is going to prison for what he did to Liz and the other girls. I hope Richard will rot in prison and hell for what he did to Liz, Kim and other girls. I can't believe Richard did that. I'm glad Richard is going to prison. I love how Kimberly's Daughter Beth is with Amy. I glad that everything is over with Richard. But now Liz and friends got to worry about Sean and Tess. Please please please please please please please please please tell me someone will catch Sean and Tess before they hurt Max, Liz and friends?

Jo Yes they won! The worst part of Liz's nightmare is over. Liz can now really start to fully heal.

Carolyn Yes Liz had a lot of people who really care about her. I wouldn't worry to much about Kim and little Beth.

Part 26

Liz woke to the smell of pancakes and bacon cooking. She smiled for the first time in a while she was looking forward to her birthday. She knew that Sarah was giving her a small party. Only her friends had been invited. She got out of bed pulled on her robe and headed for the kitchen. She saw Sarah at working making strawberry swirl pancakes. Serena was setting the table and Alex was pouring juice. Alex was the first to notice her. He gave her a big smile and came over and wrapped her in a hug.

"Happy birthday Liz." Said Alex
"Thank you Alex."

Serena and Sarah both hugged and wished her a happy birthday.

"Now sit down and we will serve you breakfast." Said Sarah
"You don't have to do that." Said Liz
"Park it Parker. We want to. We love you." Said Alex
"Ok! I know I can't win this." Said Liz with a laugh
"No you can't Lizzie." Said Serena
"Uh Rena? Would you mind not calling me Lizzie? It's just what he always called me you know when he did what he did to me."
"Of course! I am so sorry!" Said Serena
"It's ok. You didn't know."

Serena wrapped Liz in a hug that Liz returned whole heartedly.

"Don't ever feel you can't tell me anything Liz." Said Serena
"I will remember. Love you Rena."

Liz and Serena sat down and they ate breakfast as a family.

"So Liz are you doing anything before your party?" Asked Sarah
"Uh yeah. Kim is going to pick me up and we are going to the support group." Said Liz
"Does she need someone to watch Beth?" Asked Serena
"No her sister is going to. Jessica has been wanting to spend time with her niece."
"How old is Jessica now?" Asked Sarah
"Eighteen, she is a senior at school."
"She has a brother too right?" Asked Alex
"Yeah Lawrence. He is twenty and away at school. Her parents weren't happy she kept the baby. They wanted her to give up the baby." Said Liz
"Why didn't she?" Asked Serena
"Because, she felt that she needed the baby to heal. When she left town she went to stay with her aunt down in Texas."

They finished breakfast and Liz went to get ready to go to the support group.

Kim watched as Liz came out of the house and smiled. Liz, still seemed troubled but not nearly as much as when she first came back to Roswell.

"Hey Liz. Happy birthday." Said Kim giving Liz a hug.
"Thanks. Are you ready for this?"
"Yeah. I mean I should have been doing this from the start. But I was too scared to relive what happened."
"I know. It took a while for Dr. Turner to get me to come to the group. But it has helped a lot. These girls all have been through things very much like we have. No one judges here and it's first names only."
"So you all just talk?"
"Most of the time. Though soon a couple of the deputies from the sheriff's department are coming to show us some self defence techniques we can use."
"That's good."
"Kim, before you left was there someone you liked?"
"You mean like you like Max?" Asked Kim with a sparkle in her eyes.

Liz blushed a deep red.

"Yes. There was. But it would never work out."
"Why?"
"In case you forgot I got a six year old to worry about."
"I haven't forgotten."
"Besides I doubt he is still in Roswell."
"Want to tell me who it is?"
"Want to admit how you really feel about Max?"
"Fine, I think I am falling in love with him."
"Was that so hard?"
"So who is it you liked?"
"Brian Larson."
"He's still here. He is a deputy."

Kim glanced at Liz. She had to wonder if Brian was single, and if he ever felt anything for her.
