"What they are telling you is... We love each other. All of us. Max is like the brother I never had. Michael is the other half of me. Without them I'd be lost. They help us focus on saving innocents. Because of them we peform our job better not worse." I allow myself to hope just a little that Maria's comment will get through to them.

"It seems you three will never learn from your past. You continue to make the same mistakes over and over again. Just as your mother and father before you did."

I am about to say something against their accusation but realize its not my place. Its not me they are accusing now its Liz and Maria.

I grin as I decide what to do to next. I quickly shimmer back to Isabel's and pick up the dying Remus.
I use my powers to feel where Isabel is. I shimmer and I dump him on the door step of the hotel room.
I knock on the door before shimmering out once more.

Maria looks at me confused and I shrug.
"Im sorry...what are you refering to?" I ask.

Isabel/Calypso

His words are comforting because I cannot see myself living without him...as silly and romantic as that may sound coming from a vengeance demon

Smiling,I close my eyes and let my body relax against his,I realise that I am tired and should probably get some rest,it's been a long day.

But as luck would have it just as I close my eyes there is a knock on our door...probably room service.

"Alex...would you get that honey?" I ask sleepily


Remus

There is nothing I can do as I feel Sebastian lift me up and shimmer to some place,it's useless to struggle against him.

I've lost so much blood it's amazing I am stll alive!

From the daze I am in,all I can make out is that I am in a corridor or hallway of some kind.

*Alex*

My answer seems to satify her. I grin as her eyes flutter shut. It's then that there is an insistant knock at the door. I don't remember ordering anything from room service. Hmmm..

"Alex...would you get that honey?" Izzy asks never opening her beautiful eyes. I give a slight laugh as I remove myself from her embrace.

"Sure, sweetie." Slipping on my boxers I make my way to the door. I'm about to inform them that we don't want anything ,but the sight before me stops me dead in my tracks. I swing open the door quickly and scream,

"Remus!!!" The shock and fear fill my voice. What happened to him?

Isabel

"Remus!" I hear Alex's shocked tone

Immediately I jump up in the bed "Alex...what's going on?" I ask as I reach for my dressing gown and put it on.

Hurrying in to the main room of the suite I see Alex standing in the doorway,he's blocking my view so I go closer and push him aside...what I see,makes my blood run cold.

"OH NO...REMUS!" I scream as I fall on to my knees by his side "Remus...Remus wake up." I say in a firm tone

Struggling I manage to lift him up,being a female demon does have it's perks after all,I can lug men twice my size around the place.

I manage to get him to the sofa where I place his head in my lap
"Remus...open your eyes dammit,you're not going to die on me."


Remus

I hear Calypso's voice and the urgency in her tone and I also feel her hands on my face,opening my eyes her face swims in to focus

"Calypso." I breath softly "Sebastian...he he took me by surprise." I manage to get out inspite of the pain

"There's nothing you can do...I'm dying."


Isabel/Calypso

"No...no you're not." I reply stubbornly as tears well up in my eyes

I look up at Alex "Alex...what am I going to do?I can't lose him?"

*Maria*

"Im sorry...what are you refering to?" Liz asks her eyes filled with the confusion I can't express. Aaliyah just shakes her head from side to side as if we should know exactly what she's talking about.

"Your past lives of course." she replies with an air of finality.

Our blank looks cause the elders to squirm a bit. She turns to them angerily. "Do they not pocess the knowledge of their past."

The men just nod no and look down in shame. She sighs and looks back to us with new found purpose.

"I could tell you, but it woudn't help. To change the future you must learn from the past. Go. There is a spell in The Book of Shadows that will put you in the bodies of your past spell. Elizabeth. Tessa. Marianna. You must do this. It's the only way to insure the Deluca Bloodline." The seriousness of her words are just now starting to sink in.

"Max you may go with the girls to protect them from the evil they will face, but know that this is a test for you as well. If you can keep your love from getting in the way of your job we may allow you to continue to be together if not... well, you know your fate."

With that we are dismissed. Before I know what has happned I stand in the attic in front of the Book of Shadows. Liz is to my right while Tess stands on my left and Max is diresctly in front of us.

The book instantly flips to the exact page needed.

"I want to say goodbye to Michael." I stammer forcing the tears back.

*Alex*


Isabel gently nudges me aside and takes in the sight of her fallen friend."OH NO...REMUS!" she yells in absolute terror and hits her knees."Remus...Remus wake up." she states with a strength in her tone I am impressed by.

She lifts him off the floor as if he was a rag doll and carries him over to the couch. I have no idea what to do so I just follow her helplessly.

He is fading fast so she places his head in her lap and lets out a soft cry,"Remus...open your eyes dammit,you're not going to die on me." her words are faltering because she knows what is inevitable.

"Calypso." he whispers, "Sebastian...he he took me by surprise." he struggles to get out."There's nothing you can do...I'm dying." he finishes. I place a hand over my mouth unable to commprehend the pain she must be experiencing.

"No...no you're not." she repiles defiantly as tears escape her eyes.

She looks to me. Her husband. Her partner for an answer btu i have none to give. "Alex...what am I going to do?I can't lose him." she begs and I wish there was something I could do. It's time like these that I detest not having powers. I'm just some average everyday Joe. Nothing special. I can't freeze time, move thing with my mind, or have premonitions.

"Michael." I stammer. "Michael had healed him once before. We have to take him to him."

Remus

I feel my life ebbing away and I decide to tell Calypso what I have kept secret for so long "Caly...listen to me...it's okay." I say with an effort

I pause for a moment to gather my strength "I have lived for so long...part of me doesn't mind dying.But before I go I want you to know that I have always loved you...ever since we met."

I take my last breath,content to die in the arms of my friend


Isabel/Calypso

"Remus." I gasp as I realise he's slipping away
His confession takes me by surprise and makes me cry
"Goodbye!" I whisper softly as I bend to place a kiss on his forehead

Michael

A loud thunder pierces the silence and Maria jerks away, terrified. A scream is heard from downstairs and then Maria whispers what sounds like a goodbye before she vanishes right in front of my eye.

"Wh... Whatever happens... I want you to know I don't regret any of it. I love you with everything that I am. Always know that."

"Maria?" I question, then jump out of bed, ignoring the aching that comes back as I pull on my clothes. Where did she go? That thunder sounded awfully familiar.

A few minutes later I'm pacing the floor of the room when I hear a thud from upstairs. "Maria?" I say again, and race up to the attic, half dressed and panicking.

When I open the door, Maria, Liz, Max, and Tess are all standing there, looking solemn.

"Maria." I say once more, rushing over. "Where did you...?"

Liz swallowed hard. She didn't really understand what was going on. She looks at Max.
Did this mean Maria and Michael couldn't....what about her and Max?
She didn't understand what they meant...
