ooc: At the moment, Tess wouldn't have heard Trevor's words to Michael.... there will be an opening for that later however.
~Adam~
“That’s what I’m trying to do,” I say, wrapping my arm around each of the girl's shoulders. Then, knowing that they have got to be both thinking about Michael, I decide to add something encouraging. “We’ll find him, and we’ll have some fun too.”
Cameron gives me a playful nudge and I have to laugh, “Hey, not all of us have the luck of not having bruises all over their legs. You know, some of us got knocked around a little bit.” I watch my cousin lean down to show a nasty looking welt on her calf and sigh. I wanted to ask exactly what both of them had been through, but I knew it wasn't the right time. “I really don’t feel like trying to explain that one to anyone that might see it. ‘Oh, it was nothing. Some men wearing black knocked me around a bit and this is my little souvenir. Nice, huh!’ And even if I covered it up by a ‘I fell down the stairs’ type of excuse, people might start thinking that I’m getting physically abused by someone.” She replaces the leg of her jeans as she add's, “Yeah, Adam. That would really be blending in.”
*Come on, you guys. It's still hot out here. I'm melting like a popsicle,* Cameron sends telepathically and I chuckle, knowing that she is joking. Yet, the idea of a popsicle actually sounds good.
*A popsicle sounds good,* I respond to Cameron, though I make certain that my cousins and Serena can hear me as well. I glance at Isabel and she's smiling.
*Then maybe we should think about finding a place that has one when we start looking around this town. You in for a popsicle, Iz?* I watch as Isabel nods at the idea of a popsicle but doesn't really say anything, her gaze is locked elsewhere and I see that it's on a group of teens walking toward us.
*We’ve got company.* Cameron sends telepathically.
*Be nice.*
*I’m always nice, Adam.*
*Yeah. Sure you are.*
*Your sarcasm is appreciated.*
As they grow closer, one of them greets us, "Hi everyone. You must be the new neighbors. Great to meet you. I hope you like it here," His smile is friendly, but somehow I get the feeling that he is not there just to be a welcoming committee. "My name is Max and this is Maria, Kyle, Tess, and Alex." He says and then the blonde introduced as Tess speaks up.
"I live just around the corner- over that way. Did you just move in?" I have to admit, that's very nice to know. She's absolutely beautiful. I take in the appearances of the others and
“Yeah. We did,” Cameron responds to the question before I have the chance. Then, she takes to introducing herself, Isabel and I. Of course, she steps away from us and places herself between us and them. “And hi. I’m Cameron. This is Isabel and Adam,” She says with a smile, yet I can tell that she's more then likely wondering some of the same things I am.
~Isabel~
“Do the rest of you guys live around here?” Cameron asks after basic introductions and information is eexchanged. However, I hadn't gailed to notice the change when my name was mentioned and I wondered what that could be about. Could they be part of the group that had taken Michael?
"Well, not exactly in this neighborhood, but not too far away," the one called Max admits. "We've been friends for a long time. What brings all of you to the area? Are you brother and sisters?"
*Something’s going on with them. Be careful Isabel. It started after they heard your name.* I heard Cameron tell me and simply remained impassive as I responded to her telepathically.
*Don't worry, I'll be careful. We'll have to find out what we can about them as soon as possible.*
“Oh, we’re not siblings, but we’re just as close. Cousins,” Cameron responds answering the latter of the two questions first before responding to the first. “And we’re here on business,” Of course, she ammends that, though in most ways it's completely the truth. “Sorry. That probably sounds crazy. We’re not here on business,” She gestures to the three of us as she clarifies. “Our parents are, we kinda had to come with.”
“But I think we’re making the best out of things,” Adam adds and he walks up to place his arm around her shoulder again.
I smile up at him before adding, *Remind me to thank Aunt Morgana for planning on opening a store in Roswell. It is a great cover story.*
“That we are,” I say. “Hey, speaking of making the best out of things, what’s there to do around here? We were thinking about looking around and trying to find our way around Roswell.”
“What’s there to do around here? We were thinking about looking around and trying to find our way around Roswell," Cameron asks.
Max shrugs and I can tell he's not quite certain what exactly she means. "Well, there's the mall and the movies and the arcade."
"If you want the touristy stuff, there's the UFO Center and loads of tours, the Crashdown diner. We hang out at the Crashdown a lot," He adds, and it makes me wonder why he would supply said information. Then again, I realize that my thoughts might be more then a little paranoid.
"There's a couple clubs but you'll need ID to get in." It's this comment that get's my attention the most.
Looking at me and Cam, Max suddenly asks, "Do you know someone named Ron?" I'd been observing quietly and noticed that he seemed to be close to losing his balance.
There was something strange going on as I looked at their aura's and spoke to Cameron, *Cam, maybe you should attempt to get a vision by touching one of them.*
*Do you have any idea what brought that on? Or that question? It seemed kinda—* Cam begins.
*Random? Yeah,* Adam says as he completes her thought.
*We better answer before they suspect something,* I respond, telepathically, shaking my head.
“Sorry. We don’t know anyone by that name. Is he someone from here? ‘Cause you guys are the only people we’ve really met from Roswell.” Cam responds and I'm glad she's quick on the draw.
At the same time, I add, "No. I can't say that I do. The only person I know that even comes close to that name is Cameron. Our family has mostly unusual names other then Adam, Liz and Jessie."
Cam's natural concern reveals itself as she asks Tess, “Are you okay, Tess? Do you want to sit down somewhere? There’s a porch swing on my porch just over there,” She gestures the porch in question as she adds, “and it’s shaded, so you can get out of the sun.”
*Liz, I need you out here.* I sent to my other cousin, hoping she'd be out soon.
"That's very kind, but I wouldn't want to impose. Are you sure you don't mind? I had a really strenous workout and I probably didn't realize how hot it was. I'm probably just a little dehydrated or something." Tess responds and her uncertainty makes me wonder why it seemed that they were nervous about trusting us and yet making overtures to get to know us.
"Of course we don't mind. In fact, if you all would like to join us, we can get you something to drink while you rest for a few moments." I comment, figuring that though normally I don't say much, it was time that I said something.
Adam nodded in agreement, "Of course you should sit and relax. It wouldn't be any sort of imposition."
