CH. 10

“Chris where the hell did you two go? How the hell are you awake and ok? What the hell is going on? Who the hell was that demon…”

“Mom, breathe, inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale… are you calm now? Good… now let me try and answer one question at a time.” Chris looked at his anxious mother, father and aunts. Leo looked at him and Liz in sympathy for being under the firing squad and curiosity to find out what was going on. He grabbed Liz’s hand and walked into the living room as a sign to the others to follow, so they could all be comfortable while everything was being discussed. Once everyone was seated they all looked to him to begin. “Ok, here’s the deal. We went to Golden Gate Park to talk and also to see if Jonas would follow us; I don’t know how I’m awake only that I sensed Liz was in danger, again I don’t how I sensed her but I did, and it shot me out of wherever I was, plus there were images... Jonas tried to manipulate me into staying trapped in the dreamscape; he underestimated me. As to what’s going on, well… the demon you faced, his name is Jonas. He is an ‘upper level’ demon but very young, he’s probably only as old as Liz and I, but he rose quickly and his powers are great. No one knows the true extent of them so we will have to be careful. Wyatt imprisoned him about five years ago, and why he was imprisoned and not killed like the rest I don’t know,” he paused and Liz looked at him quizzically, she knew he was holding out on them. “Maybe Wyatt wanted to have someone with his capabilities on hand to use. Wyatt must have sent him back to find us and take Liz he also apparently wants to kill me. It doesn’t surprise me much considering Wyatt hates me.”

Liz looked up at him sharply, “Wyatt doesn’t hate you Chris, he’s just aggravated at your behavior.”

“Aggravated at my behavior? What am I twelve? When someone is aggravated they don’t do what Wyatt did to me. You only saw part of it, how can you say he doesn’t hate me when you’ve seen part of what he did?!”

“Part? What the hell do you mean, part? There’s more? Why didn’t you tell me or show me?”

“Because I don’t trust you!”

Liz recoiled as if she’d been slapped and moved away from him to sit on the other side of the room. “Fine, you don’t trust me. I’ll tell you what I know of Jonas and then leave you and your family to the details of getting rid of him,” she said stiffly, immediately reigning in the tears, not showing any sign of weakness. Weakness was bad, it got you and others hurt, it showed too much and left you vulnerable. There’s no time for vulnerability in war.

Chris saw the tears gathering in her eyes that she was trying so hard not to let spill and he wanted to kick himself for putting them there. She had instantly frozen up and moved away, he hadn’t wanted that and he instantly felt the loss of her warmth in the spot next to him. However he had learned not to show weakness just as she had and so he instantly straightened and looked at her, motioning for her to continue.

“Jonas was obviously sent back to take me home. Wyatt normally doesn’t release him for any reason unless it’s important, and even then he has guards with him to make sure he doesn’t try to escape. The fact that he’s here alone is big, Wyatt must want me home no matter what the cost, and I don’t believe that he wants to kill Chris,” said Liz while looking pointedly just at the sisters and Leo. “There’s also the fact that he’s very dangerous, he is currently the most powerful demon that we have knowledge of. However he is also very young, and he is the same age as Chris and I.”

Chris cringed when she said ‘home’ in reference to the future with Wyatt. He had thought they were making progress towards being friends again back at the park he guessed he was wrong, then again his distrust comment probably nailed any hopes of friendship.

“How can he be so powerful already and be only your age?” asked Piper baffled.

“Honey, they may be just as powerful if not more so than him, we just don’t know. We don’t know how strong they are,” said Leo, trying to explain.

“I’ve never done any test to see how strong I am, I’ve always just gone with the flow. I know I’m more powerful than the other aliens, but on a regular scale I have no idea.” Liz glanced briefly at Chris to see if he knew how strong he was.

At everyone’s eyes on him, Chris shrugged. “I don’t know how powerful I am, never really thought about it, just did my job.”

“Ok, well maybe to be on the safe side, we should test you guys tomorrow. Does that sound all right?” Paige looked at Chris and Liz and noticed their hesitant nods, something more was going on, but she wasn’t going to push.

Liz looked at the clock and the turned towards the others, “Is that all?“ she looked at Piper, “Can I leave for a little bit? I want to look around the city; it’s been seven years since I’ve seen it the way it is now.” At Piper’s nod she walked out, never giving Chris a backwards glance. “I’ll be back later,” she threw over her shoulder.

Once he heard the door slam, Chris looked at his family, “I’m going out too,” with that he orbed out, lost in thought.

Piper, Paige, Phoebe, and Leo sat there in stunned silence. “What do you make of this new information?” asked Paige.

“Which part, Chris and Liz or Jonas?” asked Phoebe.

“What do you mean?” asked Leo.

“There are emotions pouring off of both of them, and it’s about to drive me crazy. They’re both so strong, in every aspect, emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually, that I can’t block them.”

“Well given the life that they have hinted to leading its no wonder they’re strong, they have to be to survive,” said Paige.

“What are they feeling? I don’t want my son to get any more hurt than what he already is.”

“It’ll be ok Piper, but I don’t want to say. It’s deep, personal stuff, and I don’t want to intrude on either’s privacy any more than I already have. I don’t think there’s any way for them to get out of this with no hurt. It’s got to happen, they have to work through their issues with each other, and working through those issues will hurt, but I think in the end it will be worth it. Don’t worry, there’s no half cocked insane plans going on and nothing imperative to what’s happening now, just personal feelings.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Jonas watched the hurt, anger, disbelief and resentment play across the faces in the pool. He was currently in the underworld watching his targets from the seer’s mirror, or pool. Because that’s basically what it was a pool of water used as a mirror of the human’s world so the demons could be more prepared.

“What are you going to do about the Charmed Ones? Many a demon has failed to kill them, what makes you so special?” sneered the seer.

“I’m from a world where there are no Charmed Ones, and a form of darkness covers the land. I grew up learning of the Charmed Ones and their downfall, I can take care of them,” said Jonas absently. He was intent on the scene that played out before him, he couldn’t hear them but he could read their body language and none of them was happy. He smirked as he saw Liz move and his smirk turned into a full-fledged smile as he watched her walk out, this would be the perfect opportunity to continue watching her. It was not yet time for him to make his move, but, “Soon, very soon,” he hissed.

CH. 11

Liz wandered the streets looking absently in shop windows and smiling sadly at laughing couples happily meeting for dates. She took in the romantic gestures and loving kisses bestowed upon husbands and wives, girlfriends and boyfriends. She hadn’t felt Wyatt’s love in over five years; she couldn’t even remember when the last time they said, “I love you” or slept in the same bed. Things were constantly popping up and they rarely even talked anymore. She hadn’t felt anything from him since the war started, all she felt was righteous anger, but she didn’t know whom it was directed at. If she had to guess, she’d say it was Chris. She didn’t understand why Wyatt, was so hell bent against hating his brother, she had heard that they hadn’t been like that always, she had only noticed it after she and Wyatt got together. Maybe he didn’t like the fact that Chris and I are friends, but we’re just friends… Chris couldn’t have feelings for me? NO, that’s insane… we’re just friends, but are we even that?

She went back to thinking on her feelings for Wyatt, shoving her thoughts of Chris aside for the moment. As she thought more, she slowly began to come to the realization that she hadn’t loved Wyatt in more than a platonic way in a very long time. When she reached this conclusion her head shot up in shock and it felt as if a great weight had been lifted off her shoulders, she stood straighter and let the thought run through again… I don’t love Wyatt. She turned to begin making her way back to the manor, realizing how late it was getting and how far away she was, when her springy step suddenly wasn’t so springy anymore. She may not love Wyatt, but it had been so long since she had felt love, or a man’s arms around her did that make her a bad person? She wanted love, but to go straight from her realizations involving Wyatt into thoughts of a new relationship with someone else and damn it what was up with her feelings for Chris? She had always thought of Chris as her best friend, nothing more, but then how did she explain her recent feelings? And Chris certainly didn’t reciprocate, hell he barely trusted her. She had thought they were on their way to mending their relationship and rebuilding when he had blatantly told her earlier that he didn’t trust her. She hadn’t shown how much it had hurt at the time, but she felt fresh tears well up at the thought and of how much it would hurt to not have him in her life.

She was walking past a familiar looking club when she heard music, she looked up and realized she was standing outside of ‘P3’, not having anything better to do she walked to the alley and transformed her clothes, she was now wearing a low slung black leather mini skirt and a crimson silk halter top with knee high chunky black boots. Her make up was darker and her hair was piled on top of her head with a clip, small wisps were hanging down, framing her face. When she looked at herself and deemed herself club worthy, she walked inside. She looked around the dimly lit room and spotted Piper, “Hey.”

Piper turned shocked, “Hey, what are you doing here? I thought you were out venting.”

“Yeah, I had a lot of soul searching to do I guess you could say. I realized a lot of things that I will talk to you and Phoebe and Paige about later, its stuff I could really use a couple of girls to talk to about. And then I realized where I was and also it hit me that it’s been so long since I’ve had fun so I decided to come in. I hope that’s ok.”

Piper took in the girl before her, while she did indeed look a lot freer than the last time she had seen her at the house, there was also some underlying tension. Piper felt that she and her sisters might have had something to do with part of that. “Liz, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be here, I know we haven’t treated you fairly since you appeared, but I’d like to rectify that starting now. I know you and Chris have your issues, but they are yours, we shouldn’t interfere. I’d like to get to know you and become your friend if you think that’s all right.”

“That sounds great! I’d love to become friends with you guys, especially since I missed out on it in the last time,” said Liz, smiling honestly and openly for the first time since Piper had met her. “By the way, I meant to ask you. How does it feel to know Chris is your son, and he’s not even born yet, but you two are only apart by about five or six years?”

“For the record, it’s weird, but I’m dealing… part of me wants to treat him as a son, but it’s just really weird for me to do that when he is only about six years younger than me. So basically I love him like a son, but I don’t necessarily treat him like one…. it’s more of an overprotective big sister feeling. All right, well that’s enough of the weirdness that constantly surrounds us, so enjoy yourself tonight, the family section is open to you, it’s that table over there where Phoebe and Paige are. I know they agree with everything I just said so they’ll be more than willing to have you over there, and when I get done I’ll come join you. By the way drinks are on the house.”

“Thanks Piper, this really does mean a lot to me.” Liz began making her way over to the other two sisters and smiled at them when they greeted her warmly. She was pulled down on the couch between the two of them and immediately assaulted with laughter and questions.

“You ok? You seemed a little freaked earlier when Chris said what he did,” asked Paige after things had calmed down.

“Yeah, I’m good. He has no real reason to trust me, and I plan on doing everything in my power to get him to trust me, it’ll just take time. The thing that got me is we talked earlier before coming back to the manor and I thought we were on our way to rebuilding our friendship.”

“He’ll come around, anyways now you’ve got the three of us on your side so he doesn’t stand a chance,” giggled Phoebe. She really wanted Liz to become a friend, maybe even a part of their family.

“Thanks guys, you have no idea what all that really means to me, well Phoebe may have an idea,” said Liz smirking. “By the way, who is this band, they’re really good.”

“Oh this is ‘Greenwheel’, they gained popularity off some show on t.v. Piper thought it would be a good idea to book them. They are really good aren’t they?” said Phoebe absently as she took in a guy that had just walked past.

“So what’s the story with you and Chris?” asked Paige curiously. “I mean, we know next to nothing about either one of you, you’re both so secretive. Yet you both have this huge past together, that is apparently hard to talk about, if you don’t mind talking about it, we’d like to know.”

Liz sighed and looked at the two sisters, she knew she could trust them so decided to tell them of her and Chris’s sordid past. “It all started in our freshman year of college…”

~*~*~*~*~*~
Liz had been wandering the campus trying to find her way back to the dorms when she finally gave up frustrated and plopped down on a bench. She held her head in her hands and held back cries of irritation as she glanced at the time, it was seven and she was supposed to be back at the shared room of Max and Michael for Maria’s surprise party. What kind of best friend was she when she couldn’t even make it to the party at the place where she lived? Why did this place have to be so damn big? Letting out a weary sigh she stood up again and ran right into someone’s chest, sending herself and said someone crashing to the ground in a tangle of arms and legs. She pushed off of the someone, who turned out to be male, muttering apologies and moved to help him up. Once back on her feet she began to brush him off, mumbling about how sorry she was for being so clumsy. She was stopped in mid brush by a warm hand covering her own and that was when she looked up into the greenest eyes she had ever seen. She felt her heart skip a beat as she stared into the handsome strangers face and felt her face heat up as she realized he had been talking to her. “I’m sorry, what did you say?” she mumbled, hiding her face from embarrassment. She looked back up as she felt the rumble of his laugh and realized her hand was still on his chest, she quickly snatched it back and blushed yet again.

“My name’s Chris, and I’m sorry to have gotten in your way, I was just coming over to see if you needed help, you looked upset,” he said, the laughter dying down as he took in the petite girl in front of him. She was gorgeous, with the darkest chocolaty eyes he had ever seen and shimmering brown hair that fell in waves around her face and shoulders.

“I’m sorry for running into you that way, my name’s Liz,” she said while sticking her hand out to shake his, feeling a jolt run through her at the contact of skin. She had never felt anything like this before, not with Kyle or Max. She hoped she could get to know more about this handsome stranger. “I do need help by the way, if you can show me where Stone Hall is… I was headed there for a surprise party and since I haven’t been on campus that long I’m not sure how to get there from here even though I live there,” she trailed off blushing again as she realized that she had been rambling. Nobody had ever affected her like this and it was thoroughly frustrating her.

“I can show you how to get there,” replied Chris “just follow me.” He waited for her to grab her bag and then nodded for her to follow. “So are you a freshman here, Liz…?”

“Oh yeah, I’m a freshman and the last name’s Parker. What about you?”

“I’m a freshman, only I don’t live on campus. I still live at my parent’s manor until my apartment is ready, and the last name’s Halliwell.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“That’s how we met, and after that we became really close. We were best friends and couldn’t be separated, until Wyatt came into the picture. I don’t really know what happened after that, I guess we just drifted until it came to the point where we are now,” Liz shrugged sadly and looked back up to see the sisters watching her.

“Wow, that’s sad that you went from being so close to so distant, but I’m sure you two will work out. If you need help with him, we’re here for you,” said Phoebe, grabbing Liz’s hand comfortingly. She had her ideas of what made Chris so distant after Wyatt came into the picture, but she would wait and see if her wayward nephew and this wonderful girl couldn’t figure things out for themselves.

“Uh oh, twelve o’clock,” said Paige looking worriedly at Liz.

“What?” Liz looked up to see Chris standing there in the shadows of the club, across from them and she could feel his eyes burning into her from all the way across the room. He motioned for her to come over; he looked antsy, like he wanted to be anywhere but where he was. That wasn’t encouraging. “Guys I’ll be right back, I need to go talk to Chris.”

“Sweetie, are you sure? You don’t have to if you don’t want to,” said Phoebe comfortingly.

“Yeah, I’m sure. Whatever is going on needs to be resolved on some level once and for all.”

“All right, but if he tries anything, nephew or no nephew we’ll come and kick his ass for you!” exclaimed Paige.

Liz looked at her and couldn’t tell if she was joking or not, turning back to Chris she began to make her way over. Walking over she took the opportunity to look him over; he was dressed in baggy black cargos and a blue, v-neck, long sleeved shirt that brought out the shades of blue in his gorgeous green eyes… wait gorgeous? Where the hell did gorgeous green eyes come from?[/i ]She snapped out of it and continued her perusal. His hair hung shaggily down almost covering his eyes and he had black docs poking out from underneath the frayed ends of his pants. By the time she looked back up at his eyes, she was standing in front of him.

CH. 12

Liz stared up in trepidation at Chris as ‘Greenwheel’ started a new song. She couldn’t believe he was here, wanting to talk to her, especially after everything that happened earlier, she walked out on him for God’s sake. “Wha… What are you doing here Chris?” she mumbled hesitantly. What the hell is wrong with me? Where is the feared general of hundreds of battalions? The general who never backs down from a fight and always wins?

“Do you want to dance?” he asked, seeing the shock evident in her eyes. He wanted to talk to her, but he figured it would be easier if they were out on the dance floor, then they didn’t have to face each other completely, just move to the music. Plus it would calm his nerves and give him something else to think about instead of just concentrating on her or the topic of discussion. He didn’t realize she had said yes until he felt her warm hand slip into his. He looked back down at her shocked and met her hesitant face. He realized that she wasn’t sure if she had done the right thing by grabbing him, he felt badly by having been the reason for her actions lately, but hopefully they could resolve everything. He led her out onto the dance floor and wrapped one arm around her waist while gently holding her hand to his chest and entwining their fingers. He looked down at her and opened his mouth to speak, momentarily halted by the tears in her eyes.

Liz was stunned from the moment she stepped onto the dance floor with him, the song was slow and it seemed to sound familiar. She listened as the lyrics started…

I played the fool today
And I can see us vanishing into the crowd
Longing for home again
But home, is a feeling I buried in you

I'm alright, I'm alright
It only hurts when I breathe

She felt her breath leave her as the lyrics registered; this was how she felt about her relationship with Chris. She looked up at him the moment he looked down at her, and saw the question in his eyes, and then she felt the tears on her eyelashes. “Listen to the lyrics,” she croaked. It was the only explanation she could give. She saw the recognition in his eyes as the next verse played through.

And I can't ask for things to be still again
No I can't ask for you
To offer the world through your eyes
Longing for home again
But home, is a feeling I buried in you

“Liz,” whispered Chris. “Liz I don’t want things to be so horrible between us. I care about you more than you could ever know. You may hate me for saying this, especially because of Wyatt, but I have to anyways. I can’t live with you in the house, no better yet, the bed next to me, and not think about this. I have loved you since the moment I first laid eyes on you.” He felt her gasp and saw her close her eyes, he moved to grasp her chin and tilt her face up to his. “No, no look at me.” When she opened her eyes again he saw the tears just waiting to be shed. He felt his heart break at what must be her silent rejection, but he had to keep going. “I loved you, but I didn’t think you felt the same. The day that I was going to finally tell you how I felt was the day you met Wyatt. I saw the instant attraction light up in your eyes and I figured I didn’t stand a chance so I kept quiet. I couldn’t be around the two of you together and Wyatt soon figured out that it was because I loved you. That’s why I left, not because I didn’t love you, but because I loved you too much. That rift exists to this day, that’s why he wants me dead, and that’s why he thinks I took you. That’s why he hates me. I know I’ll never have a snowballs chance in hell with you, but I had to tell you how I feel so that it’s out in the open, if you hate me now I’ll understand.” Chris tilted his head to the ceiling to avoid her gaze until he felt a soft, small hand cup his cheek, angling his face back down.

My window through which
Nothing hides
And everything sings
I'm counting the signs
And cursing the miles in between

Liz had tears in her eyes at the honesty shining in Chris’s eyes. They had lost so much time due to unexposed feelings, she may have loved Wyatt, but her love for Chris far outweighed what she felt for Wyatt. Wyatt was love, but Chris, Chris was passion and fire. He was her heart and soul, forever. She would never give him up and to hear that he had loved her from the moment he first saw her made her heart skip a beat, because that’s how long she had loved him. When he finished he retreated back into himself, she could feel it, but she didn’t want that. He felt that he had no chance with her, but he was wrong. He was everything she ever wanted and more, and she wasn’t going to give him up now that she knew how he felt. She cupped his cheek and brought his eyes back down to her, “Chris, I love you.” She saw the disbelief in his eyes and sighed, this wasn’t going to be easy. “I love you, I have since the moment I first laid eyes on you. I thought that you could never feel anything more than friendship for me so I didn’t say anything. If I couldn’t have your love then I was content with your friendship, even if it was killing me inside. I met Wyatt, and yes I felt an immediate attraction and then slowly fell in love, but he was really only second best to you. It’s taken me a long time to realize that, but I don’t know why, there were signs of it everywhere. When you left, I thought you hated me, I never knew how you really felt, but I do now. Now that I know what happened in our past, I look forward to what we could possibly have in our future. I love you Chris Halliwell and I’m not going to let you go,” she smiled up at him tearfully.

Chris looked back down at her. “How can you want to be with me, when you could be with Wyatt and be a queen?” he asked, disbelief coloring his voice. “With me you’d just be plain old Liz Parker, maybe someday Liz Halliwell.”

“That’s all I ever wanted Chris. I love you. You! If I wanted Wyatt, I wouldn’t be here now would I? All I ever needed or wanted was you. And if I get to be Liz Halliwell with you then it will be a dream come true.” Tears began streaming down Liz’s face as Chris looked down at her. He stood in silence for a few seconds then crushed her to him and lowered his mouth to hers. She moaned at the feel of his lips on hers, she had wished for it for so long, and now that she was experiencing it? Well he was an angel, and it was heavenly. The fire and passion that was in that kiss could only be experienced from kissing Chris. She nibbled on his bottom lip, asking permission to enter his mouth, which he willingly gave, groaning as he felt the first sweep of her tongue against his. If Chris hadn’t been holding onto her so tightly, Liz thought she might have fallen to her knees, she was so overcome by the power of his love for her, and she reveled in it. Her hands were fisted in his hair holding him closer so that she could get deeper access and one of his hands was at the small of her back and the other was running through her hair, somewhere along the time that Chris started kissing her, the clip had conveniently been removed so that her hair hung loose around her shoulders. With one final sweep of their tongues, they both pulled back gasping for breath. The stared into each other’s eyes, both sets dark with desire, and their hearts rapidly beating, yet in tune with each other.

After Chris caught his breath he looked down at Liz again, “You know this is going to be difficult, us I mean. I don’t regret what I just did, but this is going to be hard and it may hurt, but know this I will never leave you and I will always love you.”

Liz put her finger up to his lips to halt any further words, “Shh… I know. All that matters is how I feel about you and how you feel about me. We’ll take care of the rest as it comes along.” They both leaned in for another kiss, this one soft and sweet and full of promise.

But home
Is a feeling I buried in you
That I buried in you

I'm alright, I'm alright
It only hurts when I breathe
I'm alright, I'm alright
It only hurts when I breathe

“Finally!” exclaimed Phoebe.

CH. 13

After Chris and Liz’s impromptu make out session on the dance floor, they made their way over to the table that held the sisters, Piper having joined the other two when she saw Chris. All three had arched eyebrows and were looking at them with amusement. “You know you’re face can get stuck like that,” warned Liz, her smile belying the scolding tone she used. She and Chris moved to sit together on one of the couches, snuggling close together with her head resting on his chest, listening to the thump, thump, thump of his heart. “That’s a good sound,” she murmured quietly. Chris smiled down at her and lightly kissed the top of her head.

“Geez, gag me with a spoon. You guys have been together what, a total of five minutes? Please, spare us your displays so I can keep my dinner down. I care about you both but I don’t need to see my nephew and his… girlfriend?” Paige watched Liz and Chris look at each other and silently converse; Liz turned back to her and nodded the affirmative. “So my nephew and his girlfriend be all googly eyed.” She started cracking up at the indignant expressions on their faces.

“So what was up with the ‘finally’ that was shouted across the room?” asked Chris curiously, and also trying to change the subject.

Phoebe looked slightly sheepish, “Ok here’s the deal. I could feel the emotions poring off of both of you. You may be able to school your features to not give away your emotions, but you can’t shut out an empath. I knew what you two felt before you did yourselves, and it was giving me a headache. Good Lord all your conflicting emotions were about to drive me insane. So when you two finally admitted what you felt and kissed I felt so much relief that I couldn’t keep it in, hence the ‘finally’. You know this would make a good article for the paper….” she mused.

“You can’t be serious. How would you write it? You can’t exactly give away what we are,” said Paige.

“Yeah, what are you going to say? ‘Twenty six year old nephew from the future came back to save mankind and he just happens to have been in love with his older brothers queen. His older brother by the way is the one who mankind needs to be saved from. When said queen comes back with nephew at one point, they discover their feelings and fall madly in love.’ I don’t think that will go over very well because you can’t very well leave out a single detail, people might get confused,” scoffed Piper sarcastically.

“Oh no, I wouldn’t give away what we are, I’d find a way around it…. just have to figure out how.” Just then Leo walked up right behind Phoebe. “Damn it Leo make a noise or something, you nearly scared me to death. Can we get a bell on him or something?” At Leo’s face the others instantly became worried, “no bell?”

“No bell, and after what I tell you, you might reconsider your plans of stopping Wyatt, and put them on hold for now,” said Leo frowning slightly. He looked at Chris and Liz and noted the ease with which they sat together as well as the newly discovered fondness that seemed to flow from them. He leaned down and planted a soft kiss on Piper’s forehead, straightening he turned back to the others. “We have problems, big ones. The number one on our list is Jonas. According to ‘them’,” arching his brows to get the point across, “he is massing an army in the underworld. He hopes to take out all of us, and when I say all of us I mean all of us.”

“What is he doing, why are the elders so worried? We can handle it. And how is he massing armies so quickly when he’s only been here less than twenty-four hours? What happened to the unorganized demons, the ones who had no goals or aspirations but to live another day?” sighed Paige.

“Apparently he’s killed all of them.”

“Oh, well that explains it.”

“He has supposedly sent people back in time to wipe out the beginning of your line. Take out Melinda, take out every good witch since her and all the things that they accomplished, including you guys and Chris and the things you have done. He’s sent someone back to kill me as a baby and rumor is that he personally is going to come after baby Wyatt, Chris, and Liz. If he kills Piper now then Chris will never be born which means no resistance to Wyatt and if Wyatt is killed then his world will never come to be. If he can take out every major player for good like he’s planning then darkness will envelop the entire world. You guys have to beat him, if you don’t then the human race is basically doomed.”

“Jonas won’t make it out of this time alive. I’ll die before I let him win, I’m not going back to Wyatt and I sure as hell am not going to let Jonas win. When he comes, we’ll be ready,” growled Liz.

Chris pulled her close to him, “We’ll stop him, he won’t be allowed to do any more damage then what he has already done. I think we should finish this conversation at home, if there’s nothing else imperative to what’s going on.”

“Chris is right, we shouldn’t be talking about this here,” said Piper. “I’ll tell Stacy to lock up and then we’ll head home, I’ll orb with Leo. Liz can go with Chris, and Phoebe with Paige, is that it?” At nobody’s objections they all rose. “See you guys at home.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“Ok so what exactly is going on?” yawned Paige from her line of pacing in the living room. She, as well as the others, had all changed into their sleepwear for the night because they didn’t know how long this would take and they wanted to be comfortable, they had currently been talking for the past two hours and it was close to midnight. The girls were all in boxers and old t-shirts except for Liz who was still in the wifebeater. Chris and Leo were both wearing drawstring pants with Chris in a wifebeater and Leo in an old t-shirt.

“Let’s review the facts that we have,” suggested Phoebe sleepily, “and could you please stop pacing you’re making me even more tired than what I already am.”

“Sorry, it helps me think.” Paige sat and automatically began bouncing her leg.

“Do you have ADHD? Because that would make a lot of sense right now.”

“What?” She continued bouncing her leg.

“Paige, stop!”

“Stop what?”

“Stop bouncing your leg, just sit still.” Once she stopped, Phoebe breathed a sigh of relief, “Thank God.”

Liz smiled at the sister’s banter, “Ok facts, here we go. Fact One: Jonas came back from the future to ‘save’ me and, as it’s been decided, kill Chris. Fact Two: He didn’t really attack us earlier, merely tested us it seems. Fact Three: Obviously he’s disobeying Wyatt and has begun his own agenda because he’s now trying to kill us as children or before we are born so that our future or present selves can’t affect anything. Fact Four: He’s coming after Wyatt, Chris, in a round a bout way, and I personally. He may just try and use killing Melinda to take you out as well, which could very well work. He’s coming after Wyatt and I as babies in case his agents fail to kill Melinda. Piper could survive, but Chris wouldn’t. So we have all these facts but we don’t know what to do with them because we don’t have anywhere to start, is that about it?”

“Alas, that is about it. We’re nowhere closer to beating him than we were when we met him,” said Piper glumly.

“Is there anything else you didn’t tell us earlier? Or something you maybe forgot to mention?” asked Leo. He watched as Liz and Chris traded looks, they knew more then they were letting on.

“What?” snapped Piper. “You know something and aren’t telling. What is it?”

“Well, here’s at least part of the story, my side anyways,” said Chris sheepishly.

“Actually, there’s more to it….” said Liz hesitantly.

CH. 14

If I get caught, this is going to suck thought Liz glumly. I have to find out if the rumors are true and Chris is back. Liz had been poring over strategies and new battle plans when she had seen Wyatt’s personal aide run by, quickly excusing herself she had run after him, keeping in the shadows and staying silent so as not to alert him. She had succeeded and had made it to Wyatt’s chambers, where the aide was currently delivering his message. She heard him say something about a prisoner and strained her ears to pick up anymore of the conversation. Bingo, she thought as Wyatt commented on his brother.

“Where is he?” growled Wyatt.

“He’s in the dungeon, we caught him trying to tamper with the potions store room’. He’s been subdued and is currently awaiting your judgment.”

“Take Jonas to him and tell him to have fun, that bastard is the reason after all that Jonas is in my dungeon, maybe it’s time for a little payback on his behalf.”

“M’lord, Jonas would kill him.” At Wyatt’s glare the aide trailed off uncertainly. Looking to his king for confirmation on what to do he finally timidly raised his voice. “Are you sure m’lord?”

Wyatt slammed his fist down on the desk, “No…. damn it! Very well I’ll go up to see him, bring potion ingredients and one of the generals, however don’t report his use to her majesty. I don’t want her to worry over this insignificant happening. She shouldn’t have to deal with Chris, besides her judgment is sometimes questionable when it comes to my brother. They used to be very close friends you know.”

“As you wish m’lord,” said the servant as he bowed and began backing out of the room.

Wyatt turned and grabbed something off his desk and muttered something to himself then moved to exit the room. Liz reared back in horror at what she had just overheard. Shit, shit, shit! What do I do? What the hell has happened to Wyatt? When did he become the monster he is now and did I blind myself to all of this happening? She hoped Chris would be all right because there was nothing she could do for right now. Making her way out of the room and back down the hallway she swore she would try to help him as soon as possible. Little did she know that chance would come a few weeks later.

~*~*~*~*~
Chris had escaped on his own, but Wyatt had sent Bianca back to recapture him. When Wyatt had found him he had supposedly been tampering with the ‘Book of Shadows’, Liz highly doubted that and had conveniently placed herself among the others that accompanied Wyatt to confront his brother. She stood in the back near the shadows and watched as Bianca died; horror must have been clearly etched across her face. She couldn’t believe Wyatt would do something like that, just callously kill someone, one of his own. Sure she had done it on the battlefield, but that’s the way it was, you couldn’t take time to second-guess yourself out there. Second-guessing yourself got more people killed and out there it was good vs. evil, or at least that’s what it was supposed to be. She watched the pain and anguish tear across Chris’s face as he watched the light fade from Bianca’s eyes. He was doubled over in pain and defeat when the portal that he must have come through opened behind him. He stood and staggered backwards as Wyatt began screaming at him, Liz threw herself at Chris, and her momentum pushed them through. No second-guessing herself, she had to save Chris and if she got the chance to save humanity from Wyatt so be it. She knew what Wyatt had planned, he was going to have his fun with Chris and then give him to Jonas to kill. She knew Chris had put him away, but she didn’t know everything there was to it, then again everyone knew of reasons for Jonas’s animosity towards Chris, but she couldn’t figure out Wyatt’s.
~*~*~*~*~*~
“Liz, Liz you in there? Hello?” She heard a voice as she zoned back in, she couldn’t understand what they were doing, all she saw was a blur moving back and forth in her field of vision. “Huh?” she asked dazedly.

“Glad to see you back with us,” said Paige as she moved her hand away from Liz’s face.

“What are you talking about?”

Chris looked at her worriedly, “You were beginning to tell us what more there was to Jonas when you spaced out. We were worried especially when you started mumbling. Are you okay?” He grabbed her hand and squeezed it, giving her reassurance for whatever was troubling her.

“Oh, ya, I’m good. I didn’t mean to space out I was just reliving what all happened and it was kind of hard.” She looked at Chris, “When Wyatt had you captured the first time he was going to give you over to Jonas for him to play with and I assume eventually kill.” She had purposefully left out the beating in case he didn’t want the others to know. At the grateful look in his eyes, she knew she had done the right thing. “When you were brought back the second time, Wyatt was going to personally torture and kill you. He was furious and wasn’t planning on letting you escape a second time. I don’t know what would’ve happened if I hadn’t been there, but I got word right before we reached you that Wyatt had sent for Jonas. Whatever happened between you has Jonas riled, and after two denied chances of killing you, who knows to what extent he’ll go to.” She looked at Chris and he saw the question in her eyes. She wanted to know what had happened between the two of them to bring about so much hatred and vindictiveness from Jonas besides the usual demon vs. whitelighter thing.

Chris cleared his throat and turned to look at his family, firmly grasping Liz’s small hand in his own much larger one. “Jonas was a spy for the underworld. He had supposedly sold out the underworld and was going to join our side when I found out about a plot to kill you Liz.” At her shocked look he continued, placing a finger against her lips to silence her. “Remember when you were unconscious for a week?” At her nod he continued, he knew she was confused because that week came after he had left. “The information was leaked to Wyatt somehow and he secretly sent men after Jonas. I got to him first as he was putting the plan into motion, you were trapped in a room by him and his lover. I killed her first and it threw him into a fit of rage, he hit you with an energy ball and you were knocked unconscious, the blow made you lose your memory. Apparently, if your reaction is any indication, to this day you don’t remember any of it, maybe it’s for the better, or maybe Wyatt purposefully blocked it from you. After rendering Jonas unconscious I deposited him in the dungeons at the castle, I left him there because the resistance didn’t have the facilities to handle a demon like him, before orbing out again. Wyatt has kept him under lock and key as a source of information he also has apparently planned to use him as the source of my demise,” growled Chris bitterly.

“We will defeat him, nothing more will happen to either of you and the world will become a safe place again,” said Phoebe. “I’m sorry for what has happened to you both, you shouldn’t have had to go through it all.”

“Maybe we should all head to bed, get some sleep and convene again tomorrow. We can also start the search for Jonas, maybe some new leads will come up,” said Piper yawning widely. “Sorry.”

“Good night guys,” said Chris as he grabbed Liz’s hand and began pulling her upstairs. The others looked after them with varying degrees of amusement on their faces.

“I hope they actually get some sleep,” smirked Paige.

“I highly doubt it,” said Phoebe making a disgusted face. “Just as long as I don’t hear them.”

“UGH!! Phoebe, Paige! That’s our son,” exclaimed Piper. Both she and Leo shared looks of disgust over what her sisters were insinuating. “And anyways, they’ve only been together a total of five hours.”

“Hey, he may be your son, but he is a male who is in love with a very beautiful woman, and they’ve loved each other a lot longer than five hours,” defended Paige. “Anyways it’s not like we want to think about it either,” she muttered at the end.

“Enough bickering, let’s go to bed and we’ll all work more tomorrow,” placated Leo. The sisters began making their way upstairs still laughing and joking around and Leo looked heavenward as he made his way after them, “Please give me patience, what am I going to do?"

CH. 15

“Liz, are you sure about this?” asked Chris hesitantly. He wanted her, God did he want her, but he wasn’t going to push, especially since they just revealed how they felt about each other.

“I’m sure Chris. We may have just told each other our feelings, but I have loved you for eight years. Yes, I lost my way at one point, but you have always come first. I want this, I want you.” Liz leaned up to kiss Chris gently on the lips.

At her words and the honesty reflecting in her eyes, Chris deepened the kiss. He ran his hands up and down her arms, causing goose bumps to rise in his wake. Liz moved to wrap her arms around his waist and hugged him to her, trailing her hands up and down his sculpted back, under his shirt; she felt the scars that remained on his otherwise flawless skin. She felt tears prick her eyes as she ran her hands over his back, she didn’t notice that tears had fallen until Chris pulled back, desire darkening his eyes to look into hers. The desire vanished to be replaced with worry, “Love, what is it, what’s wrong?”

Liz sniffed and looked up into his eyes, “He hurt you, he beat you and now skin that didn’t deserve any harshness to befall it is littered with scars. You are the kindest person I’ve ever known and you’re beautiful, you didn’t deserve his wrath or this.”

“I did deserve it, I got these scars because of my love for you.” Liz went to protest that she wasn’t worth it, when he laid a finger to her lips, halting her words. “You are worth it, and I would go through it again if it landed me where I am now.” He smiled down at her, and cupped her face in his palm. Leaning down he placed a soft kiss on her cheeks, halting the flow of her tears, and then moved to her lips, pressing them gently to his own.

Liz could taste the saltiness of her tears mixed with the sweetness of his mouth, and moved to clutch him to her tighter. She moved her hands to the hem of his shirt, her hands were shaking and he stilled them by placing his over the top of her, with his help she pulled his shirt off. She looked up at him after they pulled away “Turn around.” At his confused look she prodded him with her fingers to turn around, he did so at the pleading look in her eyes. She moved them backwards to the bed where she sat on it, moving up to her knees she faced his back. Leaning forward she braced her hands on his shoulders and gently began to kiss each scar, letting the tears fall as she did so. When she finished covering every inch of Chris’s strong back in her sweet kisses, she turned him to face her. She looked into his eyes, startled to find unshed tears there, leaning forward she placed a soft kiss over his heart, beginning the healing process of his emotional scars to go along with the healing love she placed on his soul.

Chris pulled Liz up to him and placed a heated kiss on her lips. He slid his tongue over her soft lips, asking permission to enter her warm mouth. She granted it without hesitation, moaning at the feel of his mouth slanting over hers, their tongues delving into each other’s mouths, stroking and loving, playfully and passionately. She couldn’t get over the taste of him and pulled him closer to her body. Their passion shot up a notch as Chris gently lowered her to the bed, his tenderness belying the lust that shot through him. He looked down into her eyes, now black with desire and moved his hands to the hem of her shirt; she nodded to the unspoken question in his eyes. He slowly moved his hands up, trailing across her skin as he lifted her shirt, and took in inch-by-inch of tantalizing golden skin as it was revealed to him. He gazed down at her with love and began to place hot, open-mouthed kisses across her skin as Liz arched up into him. She moved her legs to wrap around him and began to push his pants down to his ankles, once they reached his feet; Chris kicked them to the floor. He moved to lay along side her and ran his hand up and down her smooth tummy, which flexed as his hand passed back and forth. He looked into her eyes as she led his hand to her boxers, giving him permission with her eyes to remove them. “I love you,” he said shakily as he pulled the shorts down her smooth legs.

All their clothes having been discarded, Chris moved back up to lay atop Liz, suspending his weight above her, by his strong arms, but Liz didn’t want that, she wanted to feel his weight and warmth settled comfortably on top of her. She wrapped her legs around his waist and pulled him down on top of her, his arms gave in and he dropped on top of her with a grunt. They both moaned at the contact of full skin and the feel of him between her legs. Chris once again propped himself up only this time on his elbows and looked down at her, moving her hair from her face. “Are you sure?” he asked once again. Instead of answering him, she ran her hand through his hair and pulled his face down to hers, kissing him deeply and passionately while moving so he slipped into her waiting depths, both groaned loudly at the feeling. “I love you,” gasped Liz, as Chris began to move inside of her. “ I love you too,” strained Chris as he began to pick up the pace. Soon they were both panting heavily and shouting out their release.

They moved beneath the covers as the cool air began to dry their sweaty skin, and slowly both sank into oblivion while trading soft kisses and touches, Liz was spooned up against Chris’s chest. Both had content smiles on their faces and their hands were laced together in unity.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“Oh God!!” wailed Isabel as she shot awake in her and Alex’s room in the palace.

“What? What did you see?” demanded Michael, as the others all crowded around the bed.

“My eyes! My ears! Oh God, I’m never going to be the same again!’ she continued to wail. Maria walked up and calmly slapped Isabel across the face. Isabel looked up startled, “Thanks I needed that.”

“No problem, now what did you see?” The guys all looked on in astonishment as the two girls carried on as if Maria had not just slapped Isabel.

“I didn’t exactly see anything, more like felt, but I felt enough to know what was happening. Liz and Chris just slept together,” said Isabel with a disgusted look on her face. “I haven’t been able to get through to Liz all this time and the one time I do, it’s when she’s getting it on with Chris!”

The guys grimaced at the thought of a sister like figure, sleeping with anybody. “Maybe it means something,” said Alex after he wiped the mental image from his mind.

“What?” chorused from each member of the group.

“Well if you haven’t been able to get through until now and suddenly it happens when they sleep together, then maybe it means something,” said Alex. “Hey it’s not like any of you are coming up with ideas, and this one’s a logical one at that,” he exclaimed, frustrated at the looks of confusal across each face.

“I think I get what he said,” cried Kyle, all of the others looked at him in bewilderment. “Just please don’t say anything about them sleeping together. That mental image will be described to my therapist one day.”

“Kyle, there are no therapists anymore…” said Max.

“Oh ya, hadn’t thought about that… but it’s the point that matters!”

“Alright so we have slightly new information, and still no real way to get in touch with Liz… This is going to be a long night,” sighed Michael.
