Part 21

Ava was watching the stars pass when someone came up behind her.

“So how are you doing?”
“Kyle do you think that everything is going to work out?”
“Don’t know. Maybe you should ask Liz. She is the one that sees the future not me.”
“So what do you do?”
“Well I seem to know what people are hiding.”
“So you’re a living truth detector.”
“Yeah I guess so.”
“I know that you were hurt that Tess betrayed you. But you got to know I ain’t her. I may look like her but I ain’t her.”
“I know. You are nothing like Tess from what I can tell.”
“You know Alex he can hear people’s thoughts. I know he tries not to but he can’t help it sometimes.”
“Ava I was wondering if you want to you know do something sometime?”
“Like a date or something?”
“Yeah. I like you.”
“Why you don’t even know me.”
“Maybe not yet. But I want to know you better.”
“I would like to know you better too.”

Kyle smiled he was glad that Ava felt the same way about him as he felt about her.

Jeff paced in the cell he was worried about Nancy as well as the kids. He knew that the kids could take care of themselves but they had no idea what was waiting for them when they reached this planet. He looked over at Philip who was trying to sleep but it was clear to Jeff that it wasn’t working. It didn’t help that there was a strange woman who came and when from the prison only saying that she could be trusted. That she knew for the moment that the kids were safe. He wasn’t so sure. He knew the closer they came to Antar the more danger they would be in. If only he had a way to talk to his wife. Nancy would know what to say to keep him calm. He knew that she had been the one that told Liz that he use to write poems when he was younger. He also knew now back when he had banned Liz from seeing Max she had been sneaking out to see him. Not that he blamed her now. And if he had known then what he knew now he wouldn’t have even tried to stop her. She was stubborn as hell. Just like he had been.

“Jeff you really should try and sleep.”
“Philip there is no way that I can sleep. All of the kids are in danger. How can you sleep when they could all be killed.”
“Jeff there is nothing we can do to help them. You know that they will be careful.”
“Yeah right. Like when they broke Max out of the that base and had the FBI trying to kill them? Or how about when they tried to help someone and almost ended up with bullets in their heads?”
“I know. But remember that if it hadn’t been for Max your daughter would have died five years ago.”
“I know. I when I see Max again that is the first thing that I will do. Thank him for saving Liz’s life.”
“Jeff I know Max and he will keep Liz safe. He loves her too much to let anything happen to her.”
“I know. But I’m a father I will always worry about my daughter.”
“Just like I will worry about Max and Isabel.”
“We just have to pray that the kids will be safe.”
“That is all we can do.”

Jeff finally sat down and tried to get some sleep.

Part 22

Serena walked into the room that she shared with Alex an hour after her talk with Michael.

“Hey honey.”
“Hey Alex.”
“So how did your talk with Michael go?”
“Ok. Alex I was right. I am pregnant.”
“Wow.”
“Alex are you happy?”
“Yes. I don’t believe that we are going to have a baby.”
“I know. I never thought I would have a family of my own.”
“Rena my dreams of a family had died the day Tess nearly killed me. Then I met you. You did more then save my life that day. You should me a love that truly real. Even when we have fought there has been no one that I love the way I love you.”
“You really mean that?”
“Yes. In fact I know that you are keeping secrets but that is ok. I know that you have your reasons. So I want you to know that I will be here for you no matter what. That is what you do when you love someone.”

Serena smiled and turned on something that reminded Alex of a CD player. A song that he had only heard when he was at Liz’s came on.

During the song Alex pulled Serena into his arms and started to dance with her. He knew that what they had was true love. He would do anything for her and she would do anything for her.

Part 23

Grace stood in the shadows as Kivar headed to the prison. She didn’t know if he was going to see the human women or men. But wherever he was going he was going to try and get them to tell him what they know about Max and the others. Or it was possible that he had found out that one of the women he held was Serena’s mother.
“I have to do something. I can’t let Kivar find out about Nancy being Serena’s mother.”

Grace when after Kivar keeping in the shadows. She watched as he stopped in front of the cells that held the human women.

“I know that you know that your kids are on their way here. My plan worked. Now all they have to do is give me the gradilith and they will get you back unharmed.”
“Let me out of here you monster!” yelled Amy
“Ms. Valenti I like your sprite. But I can’t do it.”
“We know our children better than you. They may love us and want to save us. But they will never give you the granilith for us. Besides we know that you wouldn’t keep your end of the deal.” said Nancy
“Mrs. Parker I think they will do what I want. I happen to know all I have to do to complete the deal is get your daughter. Wait I just remembered that you have two brats. One you raised the raised here to be a protector of Elizabeth. Now I happened to know that Serena will do anything to keep her sister safe even die.”
“Stay away from them.” yelled Nancy
“Nancy, Serena’s fate was sealed long ago. The day she betrayed me to that worthless boy who would be king. My own half sister. Yes Nancy my father is also Serena’s and that worthless Rath’s as well. But I think you know Rath better as Michael.” said Kivar
“Is what he saying true?” asked Amy
“I don’t know. Amy it is true that I was abducted before Liz was born. But weather he is telling the truth about being Michael’s brother I don’t know.” said Nancy
“I will leave you ladies for now. I will let you know when your kids get here.” said Kivar leaving.

Nancy looked at her two friends and saw they were scared for the lives of the kids. Nancy was lost in thought that she didn’t notice that Grace had come out of the shadows.

“For once Kivar is telling the truth. He is Michael’s brother. Half brother to tell the truth. He has a different mother than Michael.” said Grace
“He said that Michael’s sister’s name is Serena and that she is my daughter.” said Nancy
“That is true. Serena’s heart is a pure as it can be. She will do anything for Liz. But she will kill if she has too. I know that she hates to kill. But if it came down to killing or watching Liz die she will kill.”
“Grace who raised Serena?” asked Nancy
“Michael’s mother. She goes by Jacquie when she has been on Earth. I must go. If Kivar were to find me he will kill me.”
“Grace how are Philip and Jeff?” asked Diane
“Your husbands are doing as well as they can. I will check on them again soon. It maybe a day or two before I can come back.”
“Be careful Grace.” said Nancy
“I will be. It is only a matter of days before the kids will be on Antar.”

Grace walked back into the shadows and the three women were alone with their thoughts.

Part 24

Liz was staring out one of the windows when she noticed a planet come into view. She was glad to see it. It meant that it wouldn’t be much longer that they would be on this ship.

“That’s Antar. In case you were wounding Liz.” said Serena
“It’s beautiful.”
“Hard to believe that there is a war going on down there from here.”
“Yeah. You can’t tell.”
“The water is the purple that you see. The land is that pink color. And the clouds are the green.”
“It looks so different from Earth.”
“I know. I remember the first time I saw Earth from space. I couldn’t believe how different it looked from Antar.”
“Serena are you sure that we will be ok on Antar?”
“Well I don’t see why not. Antarians breath oxygen just like humans.”
“Aren’t there four other planets?”
“Yes. But you can’t see them from this far out. You will see two of them Payal and Backra when we enter Antar’s orbit. Marva and Huntar are two far to see clearly they will look like a blue and green star. Liz you should know that Antar will feel cooler than the New Mexico desert that you grew up in. We aren’t as close to our sun as Earth is to it.”
“Serena I get the feeling that you aren’t telling us everything.”

Serena bit her lip and looked at Liz.

Can I really tell her what I don’t even like to admit to myself? That Michael isn’t the only brother I have? That the man who stole the throne of Antar from Max is my brother. But I know I can’t keep it from them forever, and unless I’m wrong their parents most likely know already. But I hate admitting that Kivar is my brother. I don’t want anyone to think I am anything like him. But if I want Liz and the others to trust me then I don’t see that I have a choice. That means it’s also time to tell Alex.

“Liz your right. I haven’t told you everything.”
“So are you going to tell me what you are hiding?”
“This is just something that is hard for me to talk about. Liz it’s nothing that has to do with you. It’s something that deals with me. You see there is something I left out. Michael isn’t my only brother. So is Kivar. The three of us have the same father and different mothers. Kivar is the way he is because of his mother. She wanted power so he learned to want it from her.” said Serena turning away from Liz.
“Serena look at me. Just because you share some genes with Kivar doesn’t make you like him. Part of who we are is what we learn from those around us. You weren’t raised the same way as he was. You were raised to do whatever it takes to restore the rightful King to the throne.”
“You know she’s right Rena. I don’t care if your brother is Kivar. I love you. I understand that you are still learning to trust people. But you got to have faith that those who care about you will see you for who you are not for who your family is.” said Alex coming up to them.
“You mean it?” asked Serena
“Serena the chance of my love ending for you is the same as Earth’s sun burning out before we can go back to Earth.” said Alex
“Serena I can tell you that the sun isn’t going to burn out in our life time. I mean there is that one in one hundred billon chance or something that it will. But I wouldn’t bet on it.” said Liz with a small smile.
“Liz how did you come up with that number?” asked Alex
“I just picked a number that was really high. I mean I have no clue what the odds really are. I mean they could be a lot higher than that. But Serena no matter what we are sisters and the only thing I want is for you to be honest with me ok? I don’t like when you keep things like this from me.”
“Deal Liz. Thanks for being so great.”
“I think I’ll go find Max now.”

Liz left with a smile on her face. She knew that Michael would not take the news that Kivar is his brother well. But it was something that Serena would have to do.

Part 25

Liz walked into the room she shared with Max and found him looking over some papers.

“Hey. What are you looking at?”
“The stuff from the destiny book Serena had.”
“Find anything interesting?”
“Well it saids here that Zan and Ava didn’t love each other. They married in hope of keeping the peace. Yes Zan cared for her but it wasn’t love. At most it was lust. There is something else in here. It’s about you.”
“What?”
“Well Liz, it’s saids that only a woman that Zan would risk his life to save will help to bring peace to Antar and it’s sister planets. Liz there was only one person that I would risk my life for.”
“Me.”
“Yeah.”
“Max there is something I should tell you.”
“What is it?”
“Serena didn’t tell us everything. It turns out that Kivar is Michael’s and her brother. All three of them have the same father.”
“Liz do you trust her?”
“Yes. And Max it’s not just because she is my sister. I trust her because she has only kept things from us because she is scared. Max please trust me on this.”
“Liz I do trust you. You have never been wrong about people. I know you never trusted Tess. But you never forced that on me. If you believe that Serena can be trusted then I am going to trust her. But that doesn’t mean I like that she is still keeping things from us.”
“I know. But one thing I have come to know about Serena in the short time we have known her is that she will only tells what she knows when she is ready. I don’t like it but I know that if it is anything we have to know she will tell us.”
“I know Liz. So how are you feeling?”
“Can’t wait to get off this ship.”
“I know I’m getting cabin fever too.”
“Max it will still be another day before we reach Antar.”
“How do you want to spend that time?”
“Do I really have to tell you?”

Max smiled and grabbed Liz and pulled her down on the bed with him.

Part 26

“Where is that ship?” yelled Kivar
“It will be here by tomorrow sir.” said Nicholas
“I want that half breed bitch by the following day. I mean it Nicholas. If I don’t have Serena by then I will kill you understand?”
“Yes sir.”
“After I’m done questioning my sister you can do whatever you want before I kill her.”
“I understand that you feel that Serena is a traitor but you know that she is doing what she was hatched to do. To protected that human of Zan’s.”
“True it’s in her genes. But her family should come first.”
“That human girl is her family. So is Rath.”
“My idiot half brother. Do you even know how he became second in command? He was Zan’s best friend. That is the only reason he became second to Zan. Both were weak. And I don’t see that having changed any. Zan was stupid and Rath was even more stupid. Neither had any right to be in their places.”
“Zan was the son of the King.”
“Doesn’t mean anything. If I had been able to marry Zan’s sister. I would have had a claim to the throne. But no that bitch had to betray me and turn back to her loser brother.”
“Never could understand Vilandra she was always out for herself.”
“Nicholas you will stay away from Vilandra if you value your life. She will be mine. Just like Zan’s human bitch will be mine. You can do whatever the hell you want with that weak dupe of Ava and the blond bitch of Rath’s. I don’t care about them.”
“I have always like hot heads like that bitch of Rath’s anyway.”
“Nicholas see if you can find out were that ship is going to land.”
“Yes sir.”

Nicholas left and Kivar picked up a glass with a red liquid in it and took a sip. He knew just how to get his dear little half breed sister to talk.

Grace paced in the passageway. It was good that the ship would be on Antar soon. But she knew what Kivar had planned for all of the woman that were coming on that ship. She knew that she had to get to the landing site before Kivar found out where it was. But getting there without being seen by the guards wouldn’t be easy. But it was something that had to be done. She slowly made her way out of the passage into the night air. She could see the light from the ship as it neared the moon. She knew if she tried she might be able to reach Serena. But that would be dangerous for both of them. She was lost in thought and didn’t hear someone come up behind her.

“Grace are you ok?”
“Jacquie you scared me.”
“Sorry. Is something wrong?
“Only that the kids lives are at stake. Not that is anything new. I also fear for the humans Kivar brought here. I fear that they won’t have much more time if something isn’t done soon.”
“Grace they will be here in the morning. I doubt that Kivar will harm the humans before then.”
“That is true. You know he plans to kill Serena. He feels that she betrayed him to Zan.”
“Serena is doing what she was trained to do. She will protected her sister with her life.”
“I know that. That is why I fear that she won’t reach her fully destiny.”
“Grace don’t worry about Serena you know she can take care of herself. Serena knows what is at state if anyone of them doesn’t make it. Why do you think she risked everything to save that friend of Liz’s life? She knew that Alex Whitman played some rule in all of this. What she didn’t know. Besides if I know my Rath if he knows Serena is his sister he will not let anything happen to her. We will go to the landing site in the morning and meet them. We have a plan already for freeing the humans and stopping Kivar for once and for all.”
“I hope that you are right my friend.”

The two women when back to their hiding places to wait the time to move to the landing site.

Part 27

Liz felt a small jerk as the ship started to land. She looked out the window and saw a group of people waiting for the ship. Max came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her.

“You scared Liz?”
“Yeah.”
“Don’t worry I’m sure once they get to know you they will love you as much as I do.”
“It’s not that I just have this feeling that something bad is going to happen. I don’t know what but I can feel it.”
“Liz you know that none of us is going to let anything happen to you.”
“I never said that this feeling is about me. I think that it’s Serena. I know that Kivar will kill her if he gets his hands on her. But one thing I have learned about Serena is that she is stubborn she doesn’t care about her own safety.”
“I would hope that she would care about the safety of her baby. If she gets herself killed then her baby will die too.”
“I know that Max. That is why I will stay as far from Kivar as I can.” said Serena from behind them.
“Serena are you ok?” asked Liz
“I’m fine Liz. Don’t worry about me. I don’t plan to put myself in any danger that I can help. But that doesn’t mean that I still won’t be in danger. All of us are to be honest. Kivar hates me and he wants to stay in control of Antar. So there for he will not go down without a fight. But I know that if we all work together with these rebels that are waiting for us we will win.”
“I hope that you are right Serena because I don’t want to lose you.”
“I promise you Liz that I don’t plan on leaving you. I want to get to know you better.”

Just then the ship touched down and the door opened. Serena smiled at Liz before stepping off the ship. When Liz stepped off with Max she saw that there were two women walking up to them. Serena noticed them too and when over to speak to them. After a moment Serena walked back.

“We have to go right to the meeting hall.”
“What is going on?” asked Max
“I’ll explain in a few minutes.”

Max and the others followed Serena into the meeting hall where Serena started to pace. She wasn’t sure how she was going to tell Maria that her mother was now a prisoner. But she knew that she had too. Maria had a right to know.

“Ok first I should say that Kivar hasn’t harmed your parents. But there is some bad news too. Maria he has your mother. I want you too know that I will do whatever I can to get her back.” said Serena
“Oh god. How can he do this! My mom doesn’t have anything to do with this.” said Maria
“Pixie don’t worry. He won’t get away with this. I will do whatever it takes to get your mom back.” said Michael
“Space boy you know that you can’t do that without putting yourself in danger.” said Maria
“Uh there is more.” said Serena
“What is it?” asked Isabel
“Well the bad news is he plans to kill all of us, well except for Liz who he wants to marry.” said Serena
“Over my dead body.” said Liz
“Don’t worry honey I won’t let him anywhere near you.” said Max

Max some how I don’t think that you will be able to protect me. Kivar wants me and he is willing to kill you to get to me. Liz thought to herself

“Serena is there anything we can do to protect Liz?” asked Alex
“Kivar is very powerful. He is going to be very hard to stop. I don’t know if it will be possible for us to stop him from taking Liz if he really wants to take her.” said Serena

Liz could tell by the look on Serena’s face that she was really scared. She knew no matter what they did there was a chance that she would very soon come face to face with the evil alien. She knew that she should have told them about her dream from last night but there was no way that she was going to tell Max. If he knew then he would never leave her side and there was no way he would win this war if he didn’t leave her side. So she had to risk that it would come true. She knew from the look in Alex’s eyes that he was picking up in her thoughts. But he wasn’t going to say anything to Max. But that didn’t mean he would tell Serena.

Part 28

An hour after the meeting Alex walked into his and Serena’s room with her. He knew that he shouldn’t tell her what he picked up off Liz but he was worried about his friend. So he took a deep breath and walked over to the window.

“What is on your mind Alex?”
“I’m worried about Liz.”
“So am I.”
“Rena there is something you should know.”
“What is it?”
“Liz had a dream that Kivar took her last night. She doesn’t want Max to know.”
“It isn’t good to keep secrets from someone you love.”
“I know but that is something that you still do.”
“Alex I’m sorry but I am still learning how to open up. Give me a little time.”
“Rena just know that I love you. I just want you to know that as much as it hurts when you hide things from me I know that you are doing it for your own reasons. As long as you promise to tell me the big things you can take your time in telling me other things.”
“Thank you for being so understanding. I just wish there was a way to tell your parents that you are alive without putting them in danger.”
“But there isn’t. For now we have to work on keeping Liz safe. If Kivar gets his hands on her babies there will be no saving Antar. He is strong but that doesn’t mean he can’t be stopped. In history evil has never won. Look at Earth’s. During and leading up to World War Two Hitler murdered millions of people because of their beliefs among other things. But he was stopped because there were stronger people who knew what he was doing was wrong. When you band together you can do anything. Rena we are not just ten strong. But there are hundreds of people fighting to free Antar from Kivar’s rule.”
“I hope that you are right that we can stop him.”
“Believe in yourself Rena and you can do anything.”

Serena smiled at Alex she loved him more everyday. He always knew what to say to make her feel better about herself. But she also had to admit that he was kind of cornball as Ava would say. But she didn’t care he was all hers and no one was going to take him away from her ever.

Kivar walked down the dark passage to the prison that held the human women. He was going to inform them that their children were now on the planet. He had just heard from his spy a little over an hour ago. When he reached the cells he found the women talking amongst themselves.

“Good day ladies. I just thought you should know your children are here. They think that they can save you. But you should know that they will never win.” said Kivar
“Go to hell you slim ball.” said Amy
“You have spunk I like that. But you should know that I plan to kill each of your children very slowly and painfully. Well there is one that I will let live. Max’s human bitch.”
“Don’t you dare talk about my daughter that way! If I wasn’t in this cell alien powers of not I would rip your head off!” yelled Nancy
“You would be dead before you even touched me human.”
“Nancy, Max isn’t going to let this monster anywhere near Liz. You know that.” said Diane
“Diane no one calls my daughter a bitch and gets away with it!”
“Nancy, Diane is right. Besides if I know my daughter she will make Michael help protect Liz or she will give him hell.” said Amy
“Don’t worry ladies I will make sure you know when each of your children dies. Even the one you will never get to know Nancy.” said Kivar with an evil grin.

Nancy when to the bars and tried to grab him but he moved out of her reach. Then with an evil laugh he left the prison. Diane wrapped an arm around her friend and prayed that all their children would remain safe.

Part 29

Early the next morning Liz was walking near a lake on the base when one of the women Serena spoke to when they arrived came up to her.

“Your parents haven’t been harmed.”
“Who are you?” asked Liz
“Call me Grace.”
“Grace why do I feel like I should know you?”
“Liz because even though we never have met you know my children.”
“Your Max and Isabel’s mother.”
“Yes. I am also the one who helped in creating your sister.”
“Is my mom ok?”
“Yes. She remembers when we took her. She was chosen because of you Liz.”
“But that was before I was born.”
“I know. You know how you sometime get visions of the future?”
“Yes.”
“There are others here that can as well. Your birth was seen. It was also seen that you would be in danger. That is the reason that Serena was born. To protect you. But to do that we need to give her a bound to you that would make her want to risk her life for you. We didn’t want her to do it just because my son would fall in love with you. You see Liz, here the bound of family is only second to the bound of the love of your mate. Weather you know your whole family or not. But the thing is Serena would have to betray either both you and Michael or Kivar. We gave her the free will to chose who she wanted to side with. Though she was raised by Michael’s mother. She taught Serena how to use her powers. But once she when to Earth she would have to chose to keep you safe or to let you die.”
“I don’t understand.”
“Liz what you don’t know is that Serena once saved your life so that my son would be able to save it. It happened shortly after she arrived on Earth. Kivar had learned of you then. There was a plot to kill you. They were going to have you hit by a car or something. But Serena stepped in and stopped it by stopping you from crossing the street that day. After that they knew they would have to try another was. Those two men that were in the Crashdown the day you were shot. They work for Kivar but they hadn’t counted on Max being there that day. So Kivar gave up trying to kill you.”
“Now he wants me alive.”
“He has a lot of people to go through before he will get to you.”
“I know. It’s peaceful here.”
“Yes it is. I should go. I need to check on your parents.”
“Tell them I love them.”
“I will.”

Liz watched as Grace left. She had a lot to think about. Serena had been the one who stopped her from crossing the street when she was a kid when the speeding car came and almost hit her. She had never known that. But then again she had realized that her sister was good at keeping secrets. Liz turned to head back to the main part of the base when she heard something behind her. She turned to look and then she felt something hit her and everything when black.

Part 30

Max was looking for Liz when he ran into Serena.

“Serena have you seen Liz?”
“Last time I saw her she was heading down to the lake. But that was early this morning.”
“I can’t find her. She said that she was going to go for a walk. But she never came back.”
“This isn’t good. Max we have to find her.”
“I know. But where could she be?”
“Max I hate to even think this. But it is possible that she was taken by Kivar.”
“Serena will he harm her?”
“Well I don’t think so. Well at lest not while she is pregnant with your kids.”
“Serena I don’t want anything to happen to Liz.”
“Max we should find Isabel. We should have her try and dreamwalk Liz.”
“Do you think it will work?”
“It maybe the only way we can find Liz. But I am going to be honest with you. Kivar is very dangerous. I will not put it past him to kill her after the babies are born.”
“He won’t if I have anything to do with it.”
“Max you have to be careful. I know for a fact that Kivar has spies everywhere. There is at lest one on this base. I just can’t prove who it is. None of us can. So we have to be careful.”
“Let’s find Isabel.”

Max when into the main building on the base and found Isabel with Jesse in one of the sitting rooms.

“Isabel I need you to dreamwalk Liz.” said Max
“Why?”
“She is missing. No one has seen her for hours. Please Isabel? I think she is in trouble.”

Isabel gave Jesse a kiss before getting up and heading to her room to try and dreamwalk Liz.

Liz groaned as she woke up. She looked around and found herself in a room in what had to be a palace. She tried to sit up but found that her head was too heavy. She didn’t know what they had they had used to knock her out but she knew that she was in trouble. She closed her eyes until she heard the door opened. Then she opened her eyes and sat up. She looked over and saw a man that stood about six foot five with dirty blond hair and cold blue eyes. She knew who is had to be.

“Nice to see you awake.”
“Don’t come near me Kivar.”
“Elizabeth I’m not going to hurt you. I just want to talk to you.”
“Stay the hell away from me.”
“Elizabeth you don’t have a say here. I am in charge. You will do as I say or your parents will die a slow and painful death.”
“How do I know that they aren’t already dead?”
“I’ll prove it to you Elizabeth. But once I do then you will have to do as I say understand?”
“I’ll give you an answer once I know that my parents are ok.”
“One hour you will have your proof.”

Kivar left the room and Liz laid on the bed and started to cry. She cried until she fell to sleep.

Part 31

Isabel laid down on her bed with the old photo of Liz and closed her eyes. It didn’t take long before she was in.

Liz’s dream

Isabel looked around and found Liz sitting by a lake crying.

“Liz are you ok?”
“Isabel I have never been so glad to see you.”
“Max is worried about you.”
“Kivar kidnapped me Isabel!”
“That is what he feared happened. Has he hurt you?”
“No. But he said if I don’t do what he wants he is going to kill my parents. I told him to prove to me that they are still alive.”
“Liz do you know where you are?”
“Uh I think that I’m in the palace.”
“Liz don’t worry we will find you and get you out of there.”
“Isabel tell Max that I love him.”
“He knows.”
“I know. Be careful I don’t want anything to happen to any of you. You’re as much my family as my parents are."
“If you can get word to my parents that Max and I love them.”
“I will. You should go Isabel I don’t know when Kivar will be back.”
“Be careful Liz. Don’t let anything happen to those babies of yours.”
“I won’t Isabel promise.”

Isabel woke from the dreamwalk and found Max waiting for what she had learned.

“She’s ok for now. She thinks she is in the palace.”
“Has he heard her?”
“Not yet. But he has threatened to kill her parents unless she does what he wants.”
“I’m going to kill him.”
“Max she is going to be ok. We both know that Liz can take care of herself.”
“I know but sometimes I wonder if it would have been better if Liz never learned that we are aliens.”
“Max if you hadn’t saved Liz’s life. Not only would you be unhappy but so would Michael and me. We would never have made the friends that we have now. Besides Liz and the others are more than our friends they are our family. Even Liz sees it that way. So don’t you ever dare regret saving Liz’s life.”

Max knew that his sister was right. But he was still worried about Liz. He knew that Kivar hadn’t killed her but he hated that Liz was in danger from the evil alien. They needed a plan to save her and their parents he hope that they would come up with one soon.

Liz woke after the dreamwalk to find a gentle hand rubbing her back. She turned and found her mother sitting next to her.

“Mom?”
“Lizzie I’m ok. What about you?”
“Been better. But he hasn’t hurt me. How are dad and the others?”
“Diane and Amy are doing as well as they can. I don’t really know about your father or Philip. We haven’t seen them since we were brought here.”
“Mom, Max is going to get us out of here I know it.”
“Does he even know you are missing?”
“Yes. In fact Isabel just dreamwalked me. They are going to come up with a plan to get us out of here.”
“Soon I hope. I kind of miss Roswell.”
“You want to know something mom?”
“What?”
“Ever since that night we left. I have dreamed of the day that we would return home.”
“You the one who wanted more than life in Roswell?”
“Yes. So has everyone else. Maria and Michael both want to go back and live there and raise a family there.”
“What about you?”
“I would love to have dad make my daughter wear that stupid Crashdown uniform. I missed you mom.”
“Liz I love you so much. I can’t wait to see Max and thank him for saving your life that day.”
“Mom?”
“Liz if you are wondering if I know about Serena. Then the answer is yes. Honey I never told anyone about my abduction. I was scared but part of me knew that I would one day see the aliens that took me that night again. I just never thought they would tell me that I have a daughter whose destiny is to protect her half sister.”
“Serena is scared to meet you.”
“Why?”
“She doesn’t know if you will like her or not.”
“She doesn’t have to worry. I know I will love her.”
“I try and tell her that but she is stubborn. Kinda like Michael.”
“Liz why do I get the feeling that you don’t want to tell me something?”
“Mom I’m pregnant. I don’t know how long I may live after the babies are born.”
”Babies?”
“Yeah uh twins. Or that is what Serena tells me anyway.”
“Honey don’t worry. If I know Max he won’t let Kivar anywhere near you or your children.”
“Well seeing as Kivar has me, Max has a lot of work to do.”
“Everything will be ok. I promise. I know it maybe a day or two, but Max and the others will be here and get us out of here.”
“Hope your right mom.”

Nancy kissed Liz on her head and prayed that she was right. She could see the fear in Liz’s eyes and knew that they were all still in great danger.

Part 32

Serena paced she knew that she had to do something to save Liz. But she had to admit that she was scared to face Kivar. She had never spent much time with him. But she knew he hated her. But she also knew that if she didn’t do something that Liz might end up dead, and that was something she couldn’t let happen. She knew that Liz was more than her Queen, she was her sister by more than just blood. The sister she wished she had grown up with. She also wished she had grown up with Michael and stopped Hank from hurting her brother. She could only hope that Alex would understand the choice she was making. She was going to go to her brother and try and get him to let Liz go, even if it would cost her the only thing she had to give. Her life. She took a deep breath and sat down and wrote a letter to Alex.

Dear Alex,
You know when I fell in love with you? It was that night on the highway when I was saving your life. I saw part of you that you hadn’t even shown Isabel .Before that moment I told myself that I was saving your life for Liz. But I know now that it was just as much for me. I had never loved anyone before that night and I know in my heart that I would never love anyone the same way that I love you. But the fact is Liz is in trouble and I might be the only one that can save her. I want you to know that I love you with all of my heart. But I can’t let Kivar harm Liz. I know you love her like a sister. But the fact is she is my sister. I have to do something to save her. Even if it costs me my life. I know that telling you this way is going to hurt. But I can’t let you try and talk me out of this. I hope that you understand that I am doing this for the greater good. Without Liz Antar will never be freed from Kivar and it will never matter if your parents never learn that you are alive. Because Kivar will go after Earth and kill everyone. Please forgive me for doing it this way. I hope that I live to see you again but I know that may never happen. I want you to know that while I know that I wasn’t your first love. Serena looked at the letter she had written she knew that she had never used a last name much. But it felt so right to put down Parker. It was the name her mother had when she was born. She could only hope that Michael could understand her reason for doing it. She picked up the letter and placed it on Alex’s pillow grabbed a jacket and headed out praying that this wouldn’t be the last time she would see this room. She walked down to the woods and headed into them. She knew that the base was only three miles from the palace. She had been walking for an hour when she was grabbed from behind.

“Well what do we have here.” said Nicholas stepping in front of her.
“Let go of me.”
“Serena you know Kivar wants you dead.”
“Gee you must think I am as stupid as you are Nicky.”
“Let’s see if you still have this spunk after you see Kivar.”

When Nicholas was standing only inches from her Serena spat at him hitting him in the face.

“Bitch you will pay for that.”
“Go to hell Nicholas.”

Nicholas slapped Serena across her face.

“Bring her. She has to see Lord Kivar.”
“Lord my ass. If Kivar is a Lord then I am the Queen of England.”
“Where the hell is England?” asked Nicholas
“It’s a country on Earth.”
“Let’s go.”

Serena fought the guard that was holding her the whole way to the palace. When they reached the Throne room where Kivar was waiting two guards forced Serena down to her knees. Kivar grinned an evil grin as he walked up to her.

“Well if it isn’t my traitor half breed sister.” said Kivar
“Go to hell Kivar.” said Serena
“Serena I take it you came after your sister?”
“Let Liz and the humans go.”
“Why would I let Elizabeth go? She is going to be my Queen.”
“She is already Max’s Queen.”
“So all I have to do is kill him and she will marry me if she doesn’t want her parents to die a slow and painful death. One that you will not escape dear sister.”
“You will never win.”
“I already have. Those half-breeds will be crushed under my boot. I am stronger than they will ever be.”
“You are forgetting that they have one thing that you will never have. Love. Love can make you do things you never thought that you could. Love makes you stronger. If you love and are loved in returned you are stronger than someone who doesn’t know love.”
“That is a human weakness. They are too tied up in their emotions.”
“I believe that is what makes them strong.”
“You would think that. Your mother is a human. Take her to her sister’s room.”
“Sir you know the human is still with her.” said Nicholas
“I know that. Let Serena bond a little with her mother before she dies.”

Two guards picked Serena up and dragged her out of the throne room and threw the palace to the room that Liz was being held in.

Part 33

Alex walked into the room he shared with Serena looking for her. He was worried no one had seen her in a couple of hours. He hoped that Serena was ok. But he knew she did at time act without thinking like Michael use to do. But that was one of the things he loved about her. But he also knew that was something that would get her into trouble.

“Rena are you in here?” Alex called out.

He looked around the room and found it empty. He walked over to the bed and sat down. He didn’t know what to do. That was when he found the letter. He read it then ran from the room. He wasn’t watching where he was going and ran right into Michael and Maria.

“Alex watch it.” said Maria
“Sorry. But we have to do something.”
“What is going on?” asked Michael
“Your sister when after Liz on her own.”
“Damn. Serena is really hard headed.” said Michael
“Just like you Space boy.” said Maria
“Maria, I am scared for Serena’s life. She is willing to get herself killed and in case you hadn’t heard. She is pregnant! I would like her to live long enough to see our child grow up.”
“Let’s go find Maxwell. You know he will want to know about this.” said Michael

The three of them walked down the hall to Max’s room. Alex opened the door without knocking and walked in.

“Alex what’s wrong?” asked Max
“Seems that your wife’s sister has taken off on her own to try and save Liz.” said Alex
“What?” asked Max
“Read this.”
Max took the letter from Alex and read it. He knew Serena was stubborn but he never thought that she would do something like this. But he knew that there was little they could do at this moment. They needed a plan. But he had no idea how they were going to get both Liz and Serena back. He didn’t want to be King. But that is what he was. He needed Liz. He knew that he wasn’t the same man he was with her as he was without her.

“Max you ok girl friend?” asked Maria
“Yeah. Just worried about Liz and Serena. Kivar is willing to kill them both as well as our parents to get what he wants. I don’t want anything bad to happen to any of them. Liz just met Serena and I know that they want to get closer.”
“We will get them all back Maxwell. Liz isn’t stupid. Serena just did something without thinking. But the fact is they both know how to take care of themselves. So do your parents. Don’t worry too much they will work on their own plan. Hopefully Isabel will be able to dreamwalk one of them and we can work together on the plan.” said Michael
“Ok who are you and what have you done with the real Michael Guerin?” asked Alex
“Watch what you say Whitman. I can still make you pay for knocking up my sister.”
“This isn’t the time for fighting. We need to come up with a plan to get everyone out of there. I don’t know about anyone of you want either Liz or Serena to have their babies where Kivar can get his hands on them.” said Maria
“She’s right dude.” said Michael
“I know. And for the record Michael. I would do anything for Serena. I love her more then you will ever know.” said Alex
“I know dude. Just keep her happy. I don’t want to have to hunt you down and hurt you.”
“Guys let’s find Isabel, Jesse, Ava and Kyle so that we can work on getting them all back soon.” said Max

Maria and Michael left in search of Isabel and Jesse. While Alex and Max when to find Ava and Kyle. Then they were all going to meet in the dinning hall to work out a plan.

Part 34

Liz and Nancy had been talking when they heard the door open and turned to watch as two guards brought in a young woman and dropped her on the bed on the other side of the room then left.

“Serena are you ok?” asked Liz
“Yeah.” mumbled Serena
“Mom meet Serena. Serena meet mom.” said Liz

Nancy looked at Serena for a minute. She didn’t believe that she was meeting her daughter for the first time. Serena bit her lip as she pushed her long strawberry blond hair back from her face. She couldn’t tell what Nancy Parker thought of her.

“Serena you’re beautiful.” said Nancy
“Thank you. I never thought that I would ever meet you.” said Serena

Nancy pulled Serena into a hug. Liz watched as Serena started to cry. She had never in the short time that she had known Serena seen her cry. After a minute Nancy pulled away from Serena so that she could pull Liz into the hug as well.

“My two girls.” said Nancy
“Mom I can’t breath.” said Liz
“Sorry honey.” said Nancy
“Serena how do we get out of here?” asked Liz
“Wish I knew. But this is my first time in the palace.” said Serena
“Did anyone come with you when you planned this rescue?” asked Liz
“Uh no. I didn’t tell anyone. Well I told Alex in a letter.”
“Serena why would you do something like that?” asked Nancy
“Because if she told anyone what she was up to, Max, Michael and Alex wouldn’t have ever let her out of their sight.” said Liz
“How do you know that Liz?” asked Nancy
“Because Serena is pregnant with Alex’s kid.” said Liz
“What?” asked Nancy
“Liz is telling you the truth. I’m pregnant. Before you ask no Alex and I aren’t married, but he did ask me and I said yes.” said Serena
“That’s great Serena.” said Nancy
“Uh I don’t know what to call you. I don’t think that I am ready to call you mom. But Mrs. Parker doesn’t seem to fit either.” said Serena
“Why don’t you just call me Nancy.”
“Ok that will work. You can call me Rena. Most people do.”
“I like that.”
“Rena there has to be away out of here.” said Liz
“Liz if I knew we would be out of here. But I don’t know. So we are stuck here until the others come for us.”
“Great.” Liz mumbled
“Honey it will be ok. You know that Max is coming for us. He will do everything in his power to save you.” said Nancy
“I know. I just hope that it will be soon.” said Liz
“Liz don’t worry. If I know Alex he has already told Max and the others that I took off.” said Serena
“Hope your right.” said Liz

Liz got off Serena’s bed and when to her bed and laid on bed with her back to her mother and sister. Nancy started to go after Liz but Serena stopped her.

“Let her be. Being upset like this isn’t good for the babies.”
“Will she be ok?”
“I think that the sooner that she is back in Max’s arms the better she will be.”
“I pray that it will be soon.”
“Me too. Me too.”

Nancy hugged Serena and watched as Liz tried to fall to sleep.

“Ava do you plan to go back to Earth when this is all over?” asked Kyle
“Don’t know.”
“Would you go back if I asked you too?”
“Why would you ask me too?”
“Because I want to get to know you better. I think that maybe we could be something more than friends.”
“I would like that.”

Kyle leaned down gave Ava a kiss when the door to the room they were in opened and Max and Alex ran in.

“Sorry to brake this up but Serena when and did something stupid.” said Alex
“What are you talking about?” asked Ava
“Serena took off after Liz and didn’t tell anyone.” said Max
“So she really is Michael’s sister.” said Kyle
“Shut up Valenti. No one finds you funny.” said Alex
“Alex we don’t have time to fight with each other. We have to work out how we are going to save Liz, Serena and our parents.” said Max
“Why did Serena go after Liz alone? She knows that Kivar wants her dead.” said Ava
“What do you mean Ava?” asked Alex
“Kivar thinks that Serena is a traitor. Cause she shares the same father as him. He thinks she should have sided with him.” said Ava
“Alex we can talk about that later. Let’s go meet everyone and work on a plan.” said Max
“Max you don’t seem surprised that Kivar is Serena’s brother.” said Kyle
“I already knew. She told Liz who told me.”

Max left the room and the others followed.

Kivar was sitting at his desk when Nicholas walked in.

“Sir you might not want to kill your sister for a while.”
“Why would I let that bitch live?”
“She’s pregnant.”
“Really? That human boy she saved the father?”
“Yes.”
“Nicholas, your right I will let my dear little sister live. Long enough to give birth to her child. Then I will kill her and raise the child as my own. I will raise the child as my heir.”
“Sir you know Serena isn’t going to let you near her baby without a fight.”
“Oh she will do as I say. Unless she wants to watch me kill her sisters children who will also be raised by me.”
“Sir You know that human bitch of Max’s won’t let you near her babies as long as she is alive.”
“Elizabeth will do as I want if she doesn’t want to watch her parents die a slow and painful death.”
“I don’t know why you are keeping those humans alive. They are weak.”
“Nicholas the humans are what are going to give me what I want. Elizabeth as my bride and Max’s children as mine.”
“I like the way you think Kivar.”
“Nicholas get back to work. I think I will pay a visit to Elizabeth and my sister and their mother.”

Nicholas when back to his post and Kivar left his office and walked the halls of the palace until he came to the room that he locked Liz and Serena in. He opened the door and found Serena talking to Nancy while Liz laid on her bed lost in thought.

“Good day ladies.” said Kivar
“What do you want?” asked Serena
“Oh I just came by to tell you that you get to live for the next three and half months sister dear. Oh and that you shouldn’t worry about your baby I will take good care of it. Just like I will take good care of Elizabeth’s babies.”
“You will get my baby over my dead body.” said Serena
“Look half breed. You are going to die within an hour of the child’s birth. You will never get to see it grow up.” said Kivar
“Leave her alone Kivar.” said Liz
“Elizabeth this is between me and my sister.”
“Serena is my sister. Let her and my parents and the other humans go and I will stay.” said Liz
“Liz what are you doing?” asked Serena

“Elizabeth you are willing to give up to me as long as I free those you care about?” asked Kivar
“Yes.”
“You get what you want. One hour to say good bye to your mother and sister.”
Kivar left the room and Nancy when to Liz’s side.

“Honey why are you doing this?” asked Nancy
“Mom I am doing what I have too. I know that Max won’t give up until I am in his arms again. But the more people they have to get out the higher the chance they will have of being caught. Serena will get you back to the base safely. Besides I have this feeling that there is someone looking out for me. I will be ok. Mom I love you and dad so much. I don’t want Kivar to kill either of you. I also want to keep Mr. and Mrs. Evans safe and Maria’s mom. Make sure that Mr. and Mrs. Evans know that Max and Isabel love them.”
“I don’t like this.”
“Neither do I Nancy. But Liz is stubborn. I learned that fast. Besides Kivar won’t harm Liz. Not if he really wants her babies.”
“I pray that you are right Serena.” said Nancy
“Mom I know how to take care of myself. Please just leave and help Max with the plan to get me out of here. I will be ok for a while anyway.”

Nancy knew that there was no talking Liz out of it so she gave her daughter a kiss and prayed that she would see her alive again. Serena watched how Liz and Nancy were together. She knew Liz had always been closer to her father but in this moment, Liz and Nancy Parker were as close as mother and daughter could be. She only could hope that she would one day feel close to her mother.

Part 36

Alex paced in the dinning hall. He was so scared for both Serena and Liz. He knew that Kivar wouldn’t kill Liz. But he also knew that he hated Serena. He would kill her in a heartbeat.

“Pacing isn’t going to help.” said Isabel walking into the room.
“Isabel I’m worried about Serena. Kivar hates her. He will kill her.”
“Alex in the short time I have known Serena, I have learned that she is smart. She can take care of herself. She knows what Kivar will do to her. She will be careful.”
“Isabel, she has done things like this before. Acted without thinking. She is smart like Liz. But acts a lot like Michael. But I love her.”
“I know. I see the way you at her. It’s different than the way you looked at me.”
“She is so different than you Isabel.”
“I like her. I wish she had been around when we were in high school.”
“She was she just was watching us. She always wanted to join us but was scared. She saw how we reacted to Tess. She was really scared of what Liz would think of her. When she saved my life she knew that if Hanson hadn’t shown up that it was her first chance to join the group. But it didn’t happen the way she wanted.”
“Alex, Serena isn’t going to die. You know that Liz will do whatever she has too to keep her safe.”
“I know. But you don’t know how hardheaded Serena is. It took me three years to get her to reveal herself to you guys.”
“I can try and dreamwalk her. But if she is awake I won’t be able to get in. I don’t know her that well.”
“Thanks for the offer but Serena isn’t going to be easy to dreamwalk anyway. She doesn’t let anyone in her head awake or asleep. She knows how to block herself from everyone.”

Isabel could see how much Alex was hurting and pulled him into a hug.

“Is there something going on I should know about?” asked Jesse walking in.
“No. Jesse I don’t love Isabel like that. I love Serena.” said Alex
“Jesse he’s worried about Serena. I was just trying to be a friend.” said Isabel
“I know. Alex we will find Serena and Liz. I mean how hard could it be to find them in the palace?” asked Jesse
“Very. The palace is really big. They could be anywhere.” said Max
“How big?” asked Isabel
“Three times the size of West Roswell High.” said Max
“Shit we will never find them.” said Maria
“Maria your not going.” said Michael
“Why the hell not? Michael My best friend is in there!”
“Maria he’s right you’re staying here. It’s too dangerous.” said Max
“Why because I don’t have alien powers?”
“No. Maria, Liz wouldn’t want you to risk getting hurt.” said Max
“Find but I don’t like it.” said Maria
“I’m not going either. Maria we can hang together waiting.” said Alex
“Yeah sure whatever.”

Max and Michael started to look over the plans for the place that they had found trying to come up with the best way to get in.

Liz watched as the guards lead Serena and her mother away. Five minutes before she had said good bye to them. She knew that she would see them both again. But she was scared.

“Mom make sure dad knows that I love him.”
“I will honey. Are you sure about this?”
“Yes. Mom I don’t think that I would be able to live with myself if you and the others died when I could do something to help you.”
“Be careful honey.”
“I will mom. Serena watch out for them.”
“You know I will. Liz, Max isn’t going to like this.” said Serena
“I know. But I have to do this.”
“Liz we will be back for you.”
“I know you will sis.”

Liz was lost in thought and didn’t hear Kivar come up behind her. She jumped when she felt his hand on her shoulder.

“I won’t harm you Elizabeth.”
“Don’t touch me.”
“You don’t make the rules Elizabeth. I do.”
“What do you want?”
“Elizabeth what makes you think I want something?”
“Because your evil.”
“That is how you see it. Now Elizabeth I just came to give you something.”
“I don’t want anything from you other than my freedom.”
“That is the one thing you will never get. I may let you out of this room if you behave but that is something that we will have to talk about.”
“I hope that you rot in hell.”
“Now Elizabeth is that how a lady talks?”
“Where I come from I can talk anyway I want. We have freedom of speech.”
“Here you have no rights. You will do as you are told or you will never see your children after they are born.”
“You are such an asshole.”

Kivar glared at Liz then slapped her.

“You will not talk to me like that again do you understand bitch?”
“Go to hell.”
“I see that I will have to teach you a lesson. You will learn to do as you are told human. Or you will pay.”

Liz could see the coldness and evil in Kivar’s eyes as he grabbed her and shoved her down on the bed. She tried to fight him, but he was too strong. She was scared of what he was going to do to her. Maybe she should have listened to Serena that this was a bad idea. But there was no way to change that now. She could only hope that whatever he was going to do to her he would do it soon and leave her alone.

“Elizabeth you belong to me now. I will do whatever I want with you.”
“Let go of me.”
“Not yet. Not until I have what I want from you.”

An hour and half later Liz laid on her bed crying as Kivar finished dressing and left the room. Her whole body hurt. She didn’t know how much of this she was going to be able to take. She prayed that Serena and the others would get back to Max soon and come up with a plan to get her out of here.

After leaving Liz Kivar walked into his office and looked over the plans to attack the base where he knew from his spies that Max and the others were hiding. After about an hour he heard a knock on the door.

“Come in.”
“Sir why did you let Serena and the humans go?” asked Nicholas
“Because it doesn’t matter about them. They are all going to die anyway. Why not let them be with there loved ones for the last few days of their lives.”
“How do you know that you can trust Liz to stay?”
“She will stay. She knows what I will do to her if she doesn’t do as I say, and I will keep doing it to her until I break her if I have too.”

Part 38

Serena pushed her hair out of her face as she lead the group through the woods.

“How can you leave Liz with that monster?” asked Jeff
“Mr. Parker, I didn’t want to. But you know your daughter. She is stubborn and hardheaded. There was no talking her out of it. But Liz did have a point. It will a hell of a lot easier for Max and the others to get her out if they don’t have to get you out at the same time.” said Serena
“Why should I trust you? You have been spying on Lizzie for years without helping her.” said Jeff
“Jeff leave her alone.” said Nancy
“Nancy we know nothing about this girl. How do we know that she isn’t going to lead us to our deaths?” asked Jeff
“Because Mr. Parker I would give my life to save Liz. I love her!” said Serena turning to face him.
“I’m sorry if I’m not so trusting of aliens.” said Jeff
“I am half-human you know.” said Serena softly.
“Half human?” asked Philip Evans
“Yes. I am as human as Max, Michael and Isabel are.”
“You’re the sister of that monster.” said Jeff
“She is also Liz’s sister.” said Nancy
“What?” asked Jeff
“Jeff I am her mother. I was abducted years ago they used some of my DNA to make her.” said Nancy
“How do you know she is telling you the truth?” asked Jeff
“Mr. Parker there is only one way to know for sure. You have to let me connected with you. You will see for yourself that I would never harm Liz.” said Serena

Serena saw the look of fear in Jeff Parker’s eyes. She knew that he was scared to try it. She bit her lip she knew deep down she was just as scared. But knew that this was the only way to earn his trust. She took a couple of steps up to him.

“Give me your hand Mr. Parker.” said Serena
“I don’t know about this.” said Jeff
“I can’t hide who I am from you during the connection. You will see my memories you may learn things about me that not even Alex knows. He is the only other person I have ever formed a deep connection with. I haven’t even done this with Liz.” said Serena

Jeff took a deep breath and took Serena’s hand.

“I need you to relax and let you mind go blank.”

Jeff did as he was told. Within seconds he was hit with images from Serena.

Serena broke the connection and Jeff wiped a tear from his eye.

“I misjudged you Serena. I’m sorry.” said Jeff
“It’s ok. Liz didn’t want to trust me at first either. Trust takes time. Time we don’t have Mr. Parker I hope that you understand that I want to get Liz out of there as much as you do.”
“Serena it’s Jeff. And I know you will do whatever you have too to help Liz.”

Jeff pulled Serena into a hug. It was in that moment that she knew what it felt like to have a loving father. The one thing she never had growing up. She had a mother type. But she knew Jacquie wasn’t her mother. After a minute Serena pulled away.

“We should keep going.” said Serena
“Is something wrong Serena?” asked Amy
No Amy. It’s just not a good idea to be in the woods after dark. There are some very dangerous animals here.”
“What do you mean?” asked Diane
“Think wolves the size of a small bear. They are called Lenx.” said Serena
“Will they hurt us?” asked Philip
“Normally no. But we are near the night of the double full moon. They are more dangerous the week of the double full moon.”
“When is that?” asked Nancy
“Uh tomorrow. So tonight wouldn’t be a good idea to have a run in with one.”
“You don’t have to tell me twice.” said Amy

Serena lead the group closer to the base. She knew that if they had a run in with a Lenx someone would die. There was no stopping them when both moons were full at the same time. Lucky for them it only happened about three times of the year.


Part 39

Alex sat by the lake watching the sunset. He knew he should be inside but he was worried. In the morning Max, Michael, Isabel and Ava a long with a group of soldiers would make their way to the palace in hopes of freeing everyone. But Alex knew that some of them might not make it back. He didn’t want to lose Serena he loved her too much.

“You ok cornball?” asked Ava sitting next to him.
“I’m worried about Serena and Liz.”
“Alex, they both know how to take care of themselves. Besides you know Liz will do whatever she has to keep Serena safe for ya. Liz is stubborn like that. Serena is willing to die if she has to. But I know she don’t want to.”
“I know that. But I can’t lose her Ava. I love her too much.”
“You know that Rena does stupid things sometimes. But I can tell ya one thing she is one of the most loyal people you will ever meet. I also know that she loves ya more than anything. She will be ok. I know it.”
“You really think so”
“Know so.”
“How?”
“Take a look.”

Alex looked into the woods and saw Serena, the Parkers, the Evans and Amy coming out of the woods.

“Serena?” asked Alex
“Hey sweetie.” said Serena
“God I am so glad you are ok.”

Alex pulled Serena into a hug and held her close.

“Whitman I can’t breath.” said Serena
“Sorry. You ok? He didn’t hurt you did he?”
“I’m fine. Right now I am worried about Liz.”
“Hi Alex.” said Nancy
“Mrs. P. you look great. So do you Mrs. E.” said Alex
“You look great Alex.” said Diane
“Thank you. I will be doing much better once Liz is safely back here and in Max’s arms.”
“Yo Rena we should tell them others you back.” said Ava
“Good idea. Let’s go.” said Serena

Liz laid on the bed. She still had no idea how she was able to talk to Serena in her head earlier. That was something she had never been able to do before. But she knew she would be getting stronger as time past. She just never thought she would be able to talk to people inside of their heads.

“Wonder if I can do it now that she isn’t in the room with me. Well there is one way to find out.”

Liz took a deep breath and reached out to Serena.

*Rena you there?*
*Damn Liz stop scaring me like that.*
*Sorry. I just wanted to try and see if I could reach you when we aren’t in the same room.*
*Well now we know you can. Why don’t you try someone that you don’t share DNA with.*
*What do you mean?*
*Try Maria or Max. But you have to remember that Maria might freak on you.*
*Maria will freak.*
*Hey it’s your choice. Now will you let me get back to Alex?*
*Sure. Tell him I’m ok.*
*I will. But I know it’s a lie. He hurt you didn’t he?*
*Rena I don’t want to talk about it.*
*Liz you have to.*
*No I don’t. Night Rena.*

Liz broke the connection and thought about what Serena had said. She knew it was right. But she wasn’t ready to talk. Maybe later she would try talking to Max or Maria right now she just needed to think about things.

Part 40

Serena sat in the dinning hall thinking about what had happened in less then twenty-four hours. She knew that she should tell Max what she thought had happened to Liz after she left. But she wasn’t sure if he would be able to take it. She knew he loved Liz more than life it self.

“Serena how could you leave my wife like you did?”
“Max, I didn’t want too. But you know how hardheaded Liz can be. I knew that was going to be a fight that I wouldn’t be able to win. You don’t have to worry about Kivar killing Liz. He needs her alive for a while.”
“I know.”
“Max if I could have talked her out of it I would have.”
“Isabel is having trouble dreamwalking her.”
“Max she will be in touch when she wants to be.”
“What do you mean?”
“She has a new power. She can talk to me in my head. I told her to see if it will work with anyone else but you know her. She won’t unless she really wants too.”
“I know. How was she when you saw her?”
“Holding the best she can. Max, she is my sister and I love her. I will do whatever I have too to keep Kivar from killing her.”
“I know you will Serena.”
“But that doesn’t mean that Kivar won’t hurt her. As long as she is alive when the twins are born they will be fine.”
“Serena is there anyway we can get into the palace unseen?”
“You will have to ask Grace. She knows that palace better then anyone I know. Only problem is she is almost never here.”
“We will find away. By the way why aren’t you with Alex?”
“Uh he is kinda upset that I when after Liz on my own.”
“You acted like Michael. Liz has done that from time to time too now that I think about it.”
“Like when she was looking into Alex’s “death”? I know that upset you.”
“I don’t know if that was all me. Or what Tess wanted me to feel. I wasn’t thinking clearly then.”
“I know but there was nothing I could do to help you without revealing myself. I couldn’t bring myself to do it then. It was hard enough to get Alex to understand that he had to play dead for a while.”
“Talk to him. He loves you. He knows that you love your sister. I for one am glad that you are on our side.”
“Max, everyone seems to forget that Michael isn’t my only brother.”
“It’s not that we forget. It’s we choose to see you for who you are. Not for who you brother is. You are nothing like Kivar as far as we can see.”
“Thanks Max. I think I will go see Alex now.”
“Let me know if you hear from Liz.”
“You know I will.”

Serena headed off to find Alex and Max sat at the table to think.

Part 41

Liz woke the next morning to find Kivar sitting next to her bed.

“What do you want?”
“Elizabeth I know that isn’t how your mother taught you to speak.”
“Well in this case she would give a damn.”
“Now Elizabeth I just came to invite you to take a walk in the garden with me.”
“Go to hell.”
“You will do what I tell you.”
“I agreed to remain your prisoner. Not to do what you want.”
“Elizabeth the fresh air will do you good. It’s good for your babies.”
“Kivar why won’t you leave me alone?”
“Because you will become my wife. Weather you like it or not.”
“I will die first.”
“Elizabeth, I’m not going to kill you.”
“If you think that I will marry you, then you need help. I am married to Max. I love him. I will never marry you.”
“Elizabeth just because I let your family go yesterday doesn’t mean that they will stay alive. You will marry me after I kill Max or our dear sweet sister is going to die a slow and painful death.”
“How could you do that to your sister?”
“Serena is my sister by blood. She will always be nothing more to me than a half-breed. When I have my way all half breeds will be dead if they do as I wish.”
“Then you will have to kill me. I will never do, as you want. I love only one man. His name is Max Evans.”
“Elizabeth, you belong to me. You will only see Max when I kill him.”
“Max is going to win. I know that he is. He has his friends by his side. All you have is Nicholas and a bunch of scared soldiers who only do what you want because you threaten to kill their loved ones.”
“There is no way you could know that!”
“So you I am right. Kivar you are nothing but a scared boy.”

Kivar slapped Liz before leaving the room. Liz knew she had hit a nerve with him. She knew how she knew all of that. She could read his mind. He was scared to death that he wouldn’t beat Max. Liz knew that most of the men that were working for Kivar were just trying to protect their families. She would have to talk to Max about them. But for now she needed to clam down for her children.

“Isabel why can’t you get through to Liz?” asked Max
“How in the hell am going to know that? Look Max, you know what Serena told you. Liz will reach out to you when she is ready. But Liz knows that she can’t hide anything from you. So she might not. I am just as worried about Liz as you are. I care about her.”
“I know.”
“Go bug someone else. Talk to mom and dad. Just do something.”
“Ok. Let me know if Liz gets in touch with you.”
“You know I will.”

Max left and Isabel took a deep breath and cleared her head. She knew Max was worried about Liz they all were. But Liz was stronger than any of them gave her credit for. She would be able to take care of herself.

*It’s nice to know you think that about me Isabel. Don’t freak just think what you want to say and I will hear it.* said Liz in Isabel’s head.
*LIZ!*
*Yeah.*
*How can you do this?*
*Not a clue at the moment. So when are you guys coming to get me?*
*Soon. We are just finishing working on a plan to get you out.*

*Liz why won’t you talk to Max?*
*Isabel I choose you because I can’t hide anything from Max. He will know that something has happened since Serena and the others left.*

*I know. Serena told me the same thing.*
*Look Liz at lest let Max know that you are ok. You don’t have to talk to him for long.*
*I know that you are right. How is Jesse handling everything?*
*Not bad seeing as this is his first trip to an alien planet and fighting a war.*
*I should let you go. I know Jesse is going to want to spend time with you before you come to get me.*

Isabel felt Liz break the connection. She knew that Liz was right she should spend time with her husband before she left with the others to free Liz from Kivar.

After breaking the connection with Isabel Liz laid on the bed. She knew she should try and reach Max but she was scared. She didn’t know how to tell the man that she loved what Kivar had done to her. She knew Serena was right that she had to find away to talk about it. Or she may never recover from it.

I just can’t tell Max that Kivar raped me. I know Serena knows that is what happened even if I wouldn’t say it.

Liz was broken out of her thoughts when she heard the door open and Kivar walked in.

“What do you want?” asked Liz
“To see you Elizabeth. I thought you might want to take a walk in the garden.”
“Not with you. I don’t want to do anything with you.”
“Elizabeth, I like that you still have spirit. You know Max won’t be able to beat me.”
“You won’t win. I know that Max and the others are stronger than you are. They have the one thing that you will never have, love.”
“Love is for the weak.”
“Love makes you strong. Love is the most human feeling you can have.”
“I’m not human and never will be. Our sister on the other hand is too human. She is lucky that I let her live. Elizabeth don’t worry when I have killed Max and the others I will take over Earth. I will let any human that will follow me live all others will die.”
“You are never going to win.”
“I already have Elizabeth. I have the one thing that makes Max weak, you.”

Liz could feel her anger growing in her the next thing she knew Kivar was flying across the room.

“You little bitch! You are going to pay for that!”

Kivar got up and slapped Liz as hard as he could. Then he grabbed her arms and sat on her legs.

“You do that again and I will do much more than hit you do you understand me?”

Liz just nodded her head. Kivar got off her and left the room. Liz stayed on the bed and cried. She never noticed when a panel in one the walls opened and Grace stepped out. Grace came over to her and held her.

“It will be all right.”
“Grace?” asked Liz through tears.
“Yes honey.”
“Where did you come from?”
“The old tunnels. It’s too dangerous for me to take you out them alone. But I will go and get Max and lead him to you.”
“I just want to go home.”
“You will. You are growing stronger every day, as are your friends. You are right there is no way that Kivar will win. You have love on your side and that does make you stronger than Kivar will ever be. I must go but someone will never be far.”
“Thank you.”

Grace gave Liz a kiss then when back into the tunnels.

Part 43

Kivar paced in his office he never thought that a human would become as strong as Liz was. He knew that she would have powers. But he never thought that she would become as strong as she is. He had always believed that humans are weak.

“Sir is everything ok?” asked Nicholas coming into the room.
“Nicholas that human bitch is stronger than I ever thought she would be.”
“You sure that she isn’t getting a boost from her babies.”
“That is possible but not enough that she could throw me across the room.”
“What?”
“She got mad and the next thing I know I’m hitting the wall on the other side of the room.”
“You going to do something to her?”
“She knows if she tries anything I will hurt her. That I will only keep her alive long enough to give me the heirs.”
“Sir you know I could get through to her.”
“Nicholas if you touch her I will kill you.”
“Yes sir.”

Nicholas left and Kivar sat down at his desk and looked at the map of the nearby towns. He knew he could take all of them easy. But which one first was the hard part.

“Isabel is there something on your mind?” asked Jesse
“I’m worried about Liz.”
“Liz is strong Isabel. She will be ok. Besides aren’t you going to go after her in a couple of days?”
“Yes. But until she is back in Max’s arms we are going to have to deal with him.”
“I know. Isabel I love you. But your brother can be a pain sometimes.”
“I grew up with him then spent the past two years riding around in a van with him. Oh and did I tell you seeing him and Liz so happy together can make you sick.”
“They are in love. I’m sure there were times when we have made people sick.”
“True. Have I told you how much I love you lately?”
“Yes. But I still love to hear it.”

Isabel gave Jesse a kiss. It wasn’t until she saw him again that she realized how much she missed him while she was with her friends.

Serena pushed her hair out of her face. She felt Alex wrap his arms around her. But she didn’t say anything.

“Rena, Kivar isn’t going to kill Liz. He needs her alive.”
“Doesn’t mean he won’t hurt her.”
“Honey, I’ve known Liz a long time. She isn’t going to let him hurt her.”
“Alex you don’t understand. She is going to be getting stronger. As the babies grow she will become almost as strong as Kivar is. She could end up hurting someone she cares about without meaning to.”
“What about you? Will your powers get stronger?”
“Yes. But nothing like Liz’s. She is the Queen Alex. But here is the thing her powers will stay strong. I don’t know how to tell her that.”
“Rena, you know that Liz doesn’t like that you keep hiding things from her.”
“I know. I just never know how to talk about some of these things with her. Alex we don’t even really know each other very well.”
“Spend time with her. Talk to her.”
“Alex you know how long it took me to open up to you.”
“Yeah I do. But I kept pushing you too. But the thing is I believe that Liz once she learns to control this telepathy thing better might be able to use it to read your mind. I’m not saying that she will but do you really want to see what would happen if she finds something out that way?”
“No you’re right. When she gets back I will talk with her.”
“Good.”

Alex kissed Serena and they both fell to sleep.

Part 44

Kyle was in his room when he heard a knock on the door.

“Come in.”
“Yo.”
“Ava what’s up?”
“Uh I wanted to see you.”
“Why?”
“Cause you know I like you.”

Kyle smiled as Ava walked over to his bed and climbed in and started to kiss him. He had never felt this way before. He knew that he was really in love like he had never been before. It wasn’t long before he felt Ava start to pull on his shirt. They broke only long enough for him to pull it off. He was a little surprised when she started to move down his body. But it wasn’t long until he was able to return it. He knew that he had never felt this way about anyone before. Sure he had, had feelings for Liz back in high school, but it wasn’t anything like this.

“Ava?”
“Yeah?”
“You're going after Liz in the morning aren’t you?”
“Yeah. I got to help her. She was the first person that was nice to me other than Zan. But the thing is I think he only did it because no one else was.”
“I want you to be careful.”
“I promise to be. I ain’t ready to die. I want to live a long time.”
“Ava there is something else.”
“What?”
“I think that I am falling in love with you.”

Ava wasn’t sure how to respond to that. She knew how she felt and it was the same way. But she didn’t know how to tell him that.

“You don’t feel the same way do you?”
“It’s not that Kyle. I just have never known how to tell someone what I am feeling. I just need some time to sort it all out in my head ok? But I do care for ya. I wouldn’t have come to see ya if I didn’t.”

Kyle smiled and took Ava into his arms.

Part 45

Serena stood on the balcony outside of the room she shared with Alex. She was lost in thought staring at the stars when she felt someone wrap their arms around her.

“Rena you ok?”
“Alex I’m worried about Liz. There is a chance that she could be hurt during this.”
“So could you.”
“I know.”
“Rena I know that this is something that you have to do. But the fact is I don’t want anything to happen to you or our baby.”
“Alex I promise that I will not take any risks that could harm me or our baby. But I want Kivar to pay for all the pain he has caused.”
“I know you do. I just don’t want to lose you. Rena when I almost died I thought I had lost everything. But the fact is, you gave me something that I had never felt before true love.”
“Alex, you know when I saved your life I never thought that I would fall in love with you. But I am glad that I did. I didn’t think that I would ever fall in love.”
“When did you realize that you had fallen in love?”
“The first time that you visited Isabel.”
“I knew that you were lying to me that you didn’t care that I was doing that.”
“Alex, I couldn’t tell you then what I was feeling. I was still confused then.”

Alex kissed Serena and led her back into their room.

“Isabel I know that you have to go tomorrow for Liz.”
“Yeah I do. Jesse, she would do this for me if I was in her place.”
“I know.”
“I believe that she would do the same for you too.”
“Isabel I just want you to be careful I know Liz wouldn’t want you to die to save her.”
“Your right about that. Liz is one of the most selfless people I know. She was willing to give up her own happiness to save the world, to save my life and Michael’s even when we didn’t treat her very well.”

Jesse wrapped his arms tighter around Isabel and knew that there was the chance that he would lose her when she when for Liz. He also knew that no matter what she would love him and he would love her. He just didn’t want to lose her. He had spent years away from her and didn’t know if he would be able to live that way again. Hell he had even gotten on a spaceship and gone to a planet at war just to stay with her.

Liz stood on the balcony watching the stars. She prayed that her friends would come soon for her. She didn’t know how much longer she was going to last in this place. She was lost in thought and didn’t hear anyone come up behind her until she felt a Shaw being wrapped around her.

“It’s too cold out tonight to be out here.” said a kind voice.
“Thank you. Who are you?” asked Liz turning to face the woman.
“Call me Jacquie. You know my son.”
“You’re Michael’s mother?”
“Yes. They are coming for you tomorrow. Grace and I will get you into the tunnels when the attack starts then make our way to your friends.”
“What was Serena like when she was younger?”
“Your sister was always in some sort of trouble. She didn’t understand then why she couldn’t be with her
family. You see her father was killed shortly after she came out of the pod. Kivar poisoned him. He hated that his father had treated him like dirt. You see Greg, as I will call my husband. There really is no other name close to his in a way you would understand. Was the right hand man to Zan’s father. He was away much of the time. He had a woman in a village far here he would spend time with. I knew about her I knew he didn’t love her. She was just there when he could have me with him. Greg was shocked when Kivar was born. He sent money from time to time. But he was never part of Kivar’s everyday life. So when he became of age Kivar when into training to be part of the Royal Guard hoping that if he did well that his father would notice him and treat him like his brother. But that never happened. When Kivar was sent to work far from his father by the King his anger took over. He then spent the next five years working on his plan to take over the planet. It started when he sent a man to kill Zan’s father. He knew that once the King was out of the way that he could get Zan out of the way without much trouble.”
“He did this because he wanted his father to love him?”
“Yes. Liz, when he found out that his father didn’t want him he just snapped. When Grace and I heard what he was up to we set our plan in motion. When got the DNA samples for Zan, Vilandra, Rath and Ava and had them mixed with human DNA and sent them to Earth. When the seer saw visions of a girl that would show Zan what it was like to truly love. We knew that we had to do something to protect you. We found your mother and used her DNA with Greg’s to bring Serena into the world. I was charged with raising her and training her.”
“Why does she keep so many things to herself?”
“She is afraid to let you close. She wants you to be close but she is scared that you will become close and that she will lose you.”
“I have to remember to talk to her about that.”
“Be ready to leave at a moments notice and get some rest. Tomorrow will be here before you know it. I must go. Stay safe my Queen.”

Liz watched as Jacquie left. She hoped that Max and the others would be safe when they came for her tomorrow.
