Chapter Eleven

"This is a picture of my mom and Dad on their wedding day" Liz said as her and Max flipped through her old photo ablums. "Wow they look so happy" Max said as he looked at the picture.

"I never was one of those girls who dreamed of their wedding since they were little.I don't care about the flowers or dress. I just want my wedding to be a joyious day with all of my close family and friends there and to have a great party and good time." Liz said smiling as she looked at the picture.

"I always pictured mine like that as well with my clostest friends and family. Just everyone haveing a great time and shareing in my special day." Max said smiling as Liz close the ablum.

"Yeah I just want to havefun and dance the night away" She said as she placed the ablum back on the shelf. "Do you still dance?" Max said looking up at her.

"I haven't danced in years. I think the last time was High school." Liz said remembering her distanc memories of dancing ballet as a member of the West Roswell high danced company. "Why?" Liz said glancing up at him.

"Oh I just remembered that you danced in High school. You always used to talk about it with Maria in science lab about your performances." Max said looking at her.

"Yes they were good times." Liz said smiling remembering how she loved it.

"Could you dance for me? I never got to see you dance." Max said softly looking up at Liz with innocent eyes. Liz smiled. "Sure but you are going to have to help me move the couch so I can have room." She said glowing as Max helped her move the couch out of the way.

Liz stood barefoot still wearing her red dress as Max sat cross legged on the floor. "It's been a while so don't you dare laugh" she said smirking as she pushed play on the CD player.

The song Milk by Garbage filled the room as Liz stood in the middle of the floor waiting for her count before she begain.

her hands fluttered out in frount of her while her legs begain to come alive to a dance they had know for years as Liz started to move across the floor letting the music take hold of her.

She spun and twirled as Maz stood in wonder of the creature in frount of him as a power far greateter then her own poured out in every movement.

she jumped and spirrled to the floor as she cretped closer to max before she sprang up and spun around fluttering across the floor as her movements became more demanding.

She then extended her hand towards letting him take hold of her as the two of them danced in rhythm to the music as if they had know this dance for years.

They moved across the floor their eyes locked on each other as they moved deeper and deeper into their own world.

Max then spun Liz around as she fell into his chest and looked up at him as the last cords of the music faded away.

"Liz I can't take it anymore. I want you. I never felt like this before. I want you so much it hurts." Max whispered softy as he held her close.

"Max I have always been a logical person but with you I feel like all my logic is gone and it scares me. Part of me is saying no whileanother part is saying yes. I am so confused." She sighed looking into his eyes.

"Liz I would never ask you to do something unless you didn't want to. You know that I would never pressure you." Max said as he cupped Liz's cheeck with his hand as he brused a piece of stray hair from her face as she nodded.

"Forget logic for a minute and think about what your heart wants you to do." He whispered as he looked into her eyes.

Liz took a deep breath for years she had always wanted to wait she always felt like she would feel guilty if she didn't. She was saveing herself for the one and wanted her first time to be special even if it wasn't on her wedding day. "Liz" Max whisperd as he looked into her eyes searching for answers.

Liz looked up into those amber eyes and her heart melted this ghost from her past she never felt so alive and vurnable all at the same time. Yet she trusted him after all these years.

"Max I...I can't please don't be mad at me. It's just that it's my first time and I always wanted to wait. But my heart is saying yes and I always follow my heart so yes." Liz said as she kissed him hard as he held her close.

"Liz are you sure?" Max said softly. "Max I have never been more sure about anything in my life." Liz sighed as Max smiled as he took hold her her hand and lead her into her bed room.

Candels burned bright as white roses filled the room. "Max what is this?" Liz said in shock as she took in the beautiful sight around her.

"Surprise I did this while you were getting ready right before we left." Max said softly as he lead Liz onto the bed and sat down. "You did this for me no one has ever done anything like this for me before thank you" Liz said softly as tears filled her eyes as she smiled. Max smiled and took hold of Liz's hand.

"This is my first time as well. Are you nervious?" Max said looking Liz in the eye as she glowed in the candel light. "I know I am so post to be but I am just going to leave it in your hands" Liz said looking up into his eyes as she squeezed his hand.

The then started kissing passonatly as a spark ran through them making them feel even more connected as they tumbled onto the bed holding on to each other tight as they ever so slowly started to take off their cloths as the candels flickerd in the night.

Chapter Twelve

They both stared at each other nothing but their flesh and bone glowed in the candel light as they took in the sight of being totally vulenerable for the first time.

Liz sat crunched up on the bed her head turned and her eyes gazed down ward as her long brown hair covered her face.

"This is a dream. How could any man ever want me. He is gorgeious more beautiful then I could ever imagion and he wants me. Me he wants me. That's crazy yet so incredible at the same time" Liz said deep in thought as the candle light danced across her hidden face in the shadows.

"Liz you are beautiful oh so beautiful" Max whispered breathlessly as he tucked her fallen hair behind her ear exposing her radiant face.

She turned and looked at him with innocent eyes and smiled. "This is a dream a goddess hidden for all of these years only for me to find. That's impossible yet amazing all at the same time." Max thought as he staired into her sparkling eyes.

"Max" Liz sighed as she kissed him allowing him to hold her naked body for the frist time. The touch of his skin sent shivers down her spin as their kisses intenfised as they tumbled onto the bed.

"So beautiful" Max whispered as he kissed his way down Liz's glowing body as she sighed in the dimly light room.

Liz then pulled him close and kissed him hard as her hands moved along his back. She then moved her way down his body making his blood boil as she placed passionate kisses along his chesled body.

"Liz" Max sighed with each sensation as he pulled her up and kissed her pulling her down onto the bed. "Max I was waiting for you only you" Liz said breathlessly in between kisses. "Make love to me" She said as she pulled him down so that their faces and bodies melted into each other.

"I have only waited for you" Max said as he kissed her. He then made sure he was protected and looked into her eyes before he entered into her secret world. Liz gasped at the sensation as he slowly made his way further inside her until he reached her barrior and then stopped.

"Liz I don't want to hurt you" Max said looking deep into her eyes knowing that after this final act their was no going back and that both their virginity would be lost to each other forever.

"Are you sure?" he whispered shly knowing he might cause her pain.

"Yes I only have one request could you hold my hand" Liz said sofly looking up a him with dow eyes as her hand rested on the pillow. Max took hold of Liz's hand as they both smiled.

"I love you Liz" Max said breathlessly "I love you Max" Liz said softy as they kissed each other passionatly holding on tight to each others hand as in one singal second they were stripped of their virginity and became one for the first time as their tears milgled together.

Their kisses deepend as they begain their seductive dance. A dance it seemed both of their bodies had known for years as the firer and passion grew inside of them.

"Max" Liz cried as her body arked in the golden candel light. "Liz" Max moaned as he held her close as wave apon wave of pure extisty flooded their bodies as their orgaisms reached full hight as they kissed each other passionatly and fell onto the bed.

They stayed like that for quite sometime as their bodies trembled while they both tried to catch their breath. "Are you alright?" Max said breathlessly as he held Liz close. "I'm fine you?" Liz sighed her body still trembling. "I'm alright. That was incredible" Max said in aw. Liz smiled.

"Thank you for everything. I love you" She said as tears streamed down her face. "Liz oh Liz I love you so much." Max whispered as he brushed the tears from her eyes with his thumb as he cupped her cheeck.

"Thank you for being the one and only one I ever wanted to be with. I am so glad I shared it with you." Max said as he leaned down and kissed her. "Me too" Liz sighed as she pulled Max close to her chest so he could hear the beating of her heart as Max pulled the covers over them.

"Good night and sweet dreams." Liz sighed as she threaded her fingures through his hair before closing her eyes.

"You too. Good night" Max said as he leaned in and kissed his sleeping beauty one last time before he snuggled underneath her neck and fell asleep.

Chapter Thirteen

Candels were extinusted as their wax made pools along their holders as white rose petals were scattared next to a pile of green,brown, and crimson cloths that lay on the wooden floor as mornings golden rays peeked on to the sleeping couple.

Liz sighed and streached as she peered on the beautiful man who made her become a woman. For the first time in her life she was happy and content she was in love.

She snuggled closer to him as Max opened his eyes. "Morning" he whispered as he reached up and kissed her. "Morning" Liz sighed as she smiled glowing from head to toe.

"Do you feel differnt?" Max said looking into her eyes. "Not really I am still the same it's just that I feel so alive for the first time in my life." Liz said smiling.

"I think that's what being in love is" he said smiling as he kissed her. "I love you" Max sighed as he pulled her down on to the pillows an started kissing her as their passion grew. "Max" Liz sighed as she claimed his mouth making it her own.

And then the phone rang. "Just let the machine get it" Liz moaned as they went back to kissing. However the piercing ring was to much to handel as Max got up and reched for te phone.

"Hello" he said as Liz leaned over him and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Transmittion problem. So it won't be fixed til then. OK ten O'Clock I will pick it up then. Thanks bye." Max said as he click the phone off.

"Who was that?" Liz said looking up at him. "My jeep. There was something wrong with the transmition so it woun't be ready til monday morning." Max said as he looked into Liz's lustful eyes. "Now where were we" he said as he pulled her down on to the bed and started kissing her.

"Michael have you talked to Liz at all I can't reach her!" Maria said as she followed Micheal who was busy following workers around as they hung paintings for his exhibit.

"No I haven't look Maria now is not a good time I am sure Liz is fine." Micheal said as he looked at a drawing and shook his head giving the man directions as he ran with his blue prints to show the designers.

"But Michael She hasn't picked up her phone since friday night it's so unlike her" Maria said panick took over her voice. Michael turned and placed his hands on her shoulders.

"Maria clam down I am sure she is in good hands. Relax try calling monday she has to work some time. Stop worrying ok." Michael said softly.

"Your right." she said taking a deep breath. "It was silly of me to worry. It's just I have some really important news to tell her and I can't wait." Maria said as she watched Micheal look over his exhibit.

"Why am I not surprised you always have something excting to tell her. Your phone bills must be up to a billion dollars by now with the amount of times you call her. " Michael said laughing.

"Funny Michael really funny. Well I got to go back to work. The exhibit looks amazing! I can't wait to see it's uncovering next week." Maria said as she kissed him good bye. "See you Maria and try to relax he said as she ran outside.

Micheal then glanced at his blueprints and looked up. "Maria's painting will be hanging there?" one worker asked Michael as he looked at the master plan. "Yes" Michael said looking up at the empty space.

"Speaking of Maria's painting Max should of gotten it by now and should be heading back to good old NY today I might just have to give him a call." Michael thought as he watched his vision come alive.

For the rest of the day Max and Liz stayed in bed making love and just enjoying each others company as they snuggled in the warm sheets.

"It's raining again." Liz said as she dried her long hair after her and Max made love in the shower. "Yeah looks like we are stuck here for the night." Max said as Liz got dressed in pajamas.

Max then got dressed in Pajamas and helped Liz changed the sheets to her bed. "So what do you want to do?" Max said glancing Liz up and down. "Not that. We just did that" Liz said laughing.

"Right" Max said smirking. "Well have I ever introduced you to "The Evans date"? Max said smiling as he made his way around her.

"The Evans date? Whats that?" Liz said trying to figure out what he ment.

"My sister and I used to do this all the time on saturday or sunday nights when their was nothing else going on. We would order pizza or chinese food and rent movies. Yeah I know really exciting. But that is what we would do and just hang out and talk about life." he said shruggling his shoulders.

"That actually sounds nice I could use a night of relaxing." Liz said as she smiled. "We could watching movies in my bedroom and sit on the bed." Liz said as she made her way into her room. "Sure I will order the food you get the room set up." Max said as he reached for the phone book.

"What do you want Pizza or chinese?" Max said as he flipped through the book. "Chinese I am so in the mood for it" Liz said as she grabbed some blankets while Max ordered.

"What movies do you have?" Max said as he went into Liz's room. "Tons. Lets see we have One flew over the cook koo's nest a Whitman favorite might I add,They are among us really bad but funny at the same time, Matrixs,Crouching tigar hidden dragon...

"My favorite" Max said smiling "Really yeah amazing movie we can watch that if you want?" Liz said looking up at him.

"No I have seen it too many times. Let me look. Star wars aw classics, Attack of the pod people another sci fi classic but no not for tonight,Let me see..." Max said as the thumbed through Liz's video collection murmering under his breath. "This we are watching this" Max said excited as he pulled out the case.

"Romeo and Juiet interesting didn't think you were the Shakespear type" Liz said looking up and Max with big eyes as he laughed. "No I haven't seen this version in years. The 1960's Franco Zeffirelli one it's the greatest version ever made I my opinion. Max said smiling.

"I have to agree it's just amazing. I haven't watched this one in a while." Liz said as she opened the box and placed the video inside the player. By that time the food had arrived and Max and Liz got everthing ready.

The two snuggled up close in Liz's bed while they eat chinese food and watched the classic love story of all time as rain tapped on the window pains.

Chapter Fourteen

Monday morning came all to fast as Max packed his bag and got ready to leave. "Do you have everything?" Liz said watching him pack.

"No I don't have you" He murmered over his breath before he answered. "Yeah I think I am all set." He said zippering up his bag and started towards the door.

"So I guess this is goodbye" Liz sighed as she looked up into he deep soulful eyes.

"Liz thank you for everything. This was the best weekend I ever had. I really liked Boston. It was just incredible." He said looking at her.

"I am glad you liked it. Will you come back?" She said looking
up at him with innocent eyes as her heart was crying out for him to stay.

"Of course I will" Max said smiling as he kissed Liz on the forehead. She smiled "See you later Liz." Max said looking at her one last time before he turned towards the door.

"Max" Liz cried out as he turned to looked at her before he ran and kissed her hard pouring as much love and passion he could into his kiss as they held each other close.

"Stay please stay" Liz whispered softy. "Liz I wish I could but I have to go." Max whispered horsley as he looked at her before he grapped his bag and headed for the door.

Liz then ran and engulfed him with the most pssionate kiss she ever gave a man. "I just wanted to remember" Liz said breathlessly as Max smiled looking at his elegant beauty of a woman who could sill bring him to his knees after all these years before he closed the door.

A chill was in the air or was it the chill in his heart as he shuttered hearing that door slam shut was almost like closing off the light in his soul.

Numness filled his body while he walked down the cold steps of the apartment and got into his newly fixed jeep ready to start back to his dull and dead life back in New York.

Liz sat in her empty apartment. The sound of excitment and laughter was dead and gone. Silence had taken it's tole just like the silencce in her heart as she replayed the events in her head while she looked out her apartment window seeing the man who gave her butterflies and melted her heart get into his car and drive off. He was gone.

Her heat acked feeling as though a piece of her soul was missing as she sighed as she looked at the clock and got ready to go back to her dulling cycle of labs and research as she got ready for work.

"So The Invisible Man finally decided to showed up. Where the hell have you been?" Micheal said annoyed as Max entered his apartment carring his painting.

"Michael here is your painting. I am going to bed." Max said handing his friend the package and fell on to his bed.

"Not so fast Maxwell. I have been waiting here since 10 O'clock this moring it's now 3. Do you have any idea as to how much this is going to set me back. I am now going to have to work over time." Michael said frustrated.

"Look Michael my car broke down." Max said sleeply. "Look I am really sorry but you could of called. I tried calling you like 50 times. What happened to you in Boston?" Micheal said looking at his friends dishevled state.

"Look Micheal I don't want to talk about it. Ok! I just want to sleep." Max said annoyed as he closed his eyes trying to sleep. "Fine when ever you want to talk give me a call. But you might not hear from me in a few days. Thanks again max see you later." Michael said taking his painting as Max groaned before Micheal shut the door.

"Did the world come to an end? Beth You are never late for work?" Elieen Burrows said looking at her coworker in shock.

"Well there is a first time for everything" Liz said hurrying to sign in. "So hot date this weekend?" She said looking up at Liz as she filled out her chart. "Sorry Doug told me. You should of seen his face when he told me it was priceless." Elieen said pinning back her long blond hair.

"No just an old friend." Liz said glowing as she looked at her. "Yeah right sure just a friend then why are you glowing?" Elieen said smirking as Liz laughed. "Elieen" Liz said blushing. "I am glad your weekend was great Liz. My weekend was the usual go to the bars and such with the usual crew. I was so drunk. Anyway thats another story.

I was going to ask you if you wanted to come. But I see now that you obvisiously had other plans when you didn't answer your phone. I hope to meet this msytery man of yours sometime." Elieen said "I hope so too Elieen. Is Dr. Holt mad at me?" Liz said as they walked down the long hall way to the lab.

"Beth you are as clueless as me." Elieen said as she stopped dead in her tracks. "Burrows Parker" Dr. Holt said to the two girls. "Morning Dr. Holt" Elieen said caught of gard. "Morning. Parker can I see you for a minute." Dr. Holt said taking Liz aside as Elieen whispered "Good luck".

Liz feared the worst as the two walked down the hall. "Doug told me Liz. I am happy for you. Just next time please call and let know you are going to be late." Dr. Holt said looking into her eyes.

"Of course." Liz said relieved. "So whats he like" Dr. Holt said eyeing her. "Differnt." she said as a huge smile light up her face.

"You have to tell me all about it later." Dr. Holt said smiling as her and Liz entered the lab.

"Mr. Evans the Olsens called you have a meeting with them today." The law firms secartary voice drond as Max nodded trying to concentrate as he day dreamed about Liz while he tried to catch up on missed work from monday.

"OK anything else?" he said organizing paper work as he leaned the phone against his ear.

"Oh your 12 O'clock apointement is here. Should I send them in?" The secartary said. "Sure" Max sighed placing the phone down as he waited.

A tall woman with blue eyes dressed in a long black skirt, blue low cut shirt with curley blond hair entered his office.

"Max Evans it's been a long time" The woman said in a sweet voice. Max's eyes opened wide in shock. "Tess Harting. What brings you here?"

Chapter Fifteen

Max got up from behind his desk as Tess embrased him with a hug. "Wow you look great" Max said smiling as he sat back down in his huge black swival chair.

"Please take a seat so what brings you here?" He said extending his hand and offered Tess one of the comfortable office chairs.

Tess sat down and smiled "Well actually I just moved to NY I got a job working at one of the local business firms. It's so exciting I love it." She said glowing from head to toe.

"Really thats great Tess. What brought you to NY in the first place?" Max said eyeing the woman of his past. "Well you know how I always loved the city. It was my dream to live here. I talked to Vicki Delaney the other day and she told me you were a lawyer here in NY so I just had to see you." Tess said smiling.

"Well it's nice to see you. You look great Tess. God the last time I saw you was right before I left for college. Do you still talk to Kyle?" Max said as he put a stack of papers away.

"Kyle Valenti. Aw Kyle Kyle Kyle." She murmered as she fumbled with her purse and took out a pack of cigerates and lit one inhaling the smoke as she breathed it out in one long drag. It filled the room with it's ashy sent as she sighed.

"Tess you can't smoke in here." Max said in shock. "Oh sorry bad habit I picked up to calm my nerves down. I am trying to quit." She said feeling destressed as she put it out quickly.

"Since when do you smoke?" Max said in shock as he watched look at the cigerate burning out in the tray.

"I never used to until the whole money thing" She said staring at the tray as her mind wondered

"Tess what do you mean?' Max said trying to figure out what she wanted.

Tess looked up and blinked her eyes breaking her trance as she looked up at him "Well you see Kyke and I dated for a while. While in college we used to hang out with Kyles buddies and bet on games hourse races and such. It was fun and exciting. However I should of seen it coming.

Kyle got so addicted to gambling he spent a fourtion through the years. We went to Vegas and gambled our way until both of us were bankrupt. Then Kyle owed money to some people and it was hell trying to get it. We tried everything to make a buck. Vegas was the perfect place to make some fast cash."

Tess said as she looked through her bag and took out another cigerate and lit it. However this time Max didn't say and thing as she took a few puffs and then continued.


He was a card dealer and I was a show girl. It was hell trying to pay everyone off we eventually did but aw what a life it was among the glamor and lights. Eventually I got sick of the lifesyle and told him I wanted out." She said taking a long puff.

"He didn't hurt you? Did he?"Max asked concered as he watched the frail creature in frount of him.

Tess smiled "Kyle no, Kyle loved me he really did. Heck he even wanted to marry me at one point but by then we both just drifted apart. So when I told him I wanted out he let me go.

I went back to Roswell for a while and worked there. So when my friend Ava told me about this job offer in NY and that I could live with her I decided to go." She said as she put her cigerate out.

That was less then six months ago I haven't heard from Kyle since He probably owns his own hotel by now with the way he was moving up in the business. Sorry I ddin't mean to come and tell you my sad story." Tess sighed looking up at Max.

"Tess I had no idea." He said looking at her with sampathotic eyes. "Oh don't be sorry for me. I am a survivor. I just wanted to stop by to thank you." Tess said as she reached over and placed her hand over Max's.

"For what?" he said not pulling away. "I wanted to thank you for helping me and for believeing in me. You were the only person who gave a dame about me. I never got to say thank you. I have been sober for 6 years now and have a whole new life thanks to you." Tess said smiling.

'Tess I always knew you were ment to live for so much for then to wast your life away." Max said smiling.

"Thank you. You know my king we had some great times in High school." Tess said cointing the nickmane she had given Max after they won prom king and queen as she started to run her hand up Max's arm.

He quickly pulled away. "Yes we did Tess. But that was eight years ago a lot has changed." he said eyeing her. Tess laughed as she nodded her head "Aw Max your funny." She said looking up at him.

"So where are you staying?" Max said as he looked at the vixion in frount of him. "My friend Ava lives in the city with her friend Zan in the villiage. Ava and I go way back. Her other friends Rath and Lani live in Brooklyn.

So I know some people here. It's nice to know that you are here as well. I mean I am new to the area so it's nice to know people." She said looking up at him as she gathered her things.

"Well I have to go. Can't be late to work first impressions are everything. Look Max if you ever want to get some coffee or something sometime here is my number." Tess said as she handed Max a business card.

Max looked at the card quickly and placed it on the desk as he walked Tess to the door. "Thanks Tess" he said looking at her. "Sure anytime. It was great to see you again Max" She said smiling. "You too" Bye Tess Max said as he opened the door.

"Bye Max" She said waving goodbye as Max closed the door and sat down at his desk. He picked up the business card Tess hand given him and glanced over it one more time before he placed it down. Shacking his head as he filpped though papers.

He then stopped when he saw the scripple handwritting of an address for a Mr. Broady Davis written hastly on a card and smiled.

Tonight he was going to call Michael to tell him what exactually happend to him in Boston and how he had to thank a Mr. Broady Davis for making his dreams come true that fateful rainy night.

Chapter Sixteen

The next few days flew by as coffee was brewed and piles apon piles of work were looked over written on and placed aside as the hours ticked by.

Liz looked up at her clock and started to day dream of the man who had showed up on her door step that stormy friday night. She smiled remembering Marias reaction.

"So I called like 20 times!!" Maria said annoyed on the phone as she finally got in touch with Liz that tuesday afternoon.

"Sorry about that. I had a really amazing weekend!!" Liz said smiling on the phone. "What are you so happy about? I have never heard you this giddy!" Maria said trying to figure out what was going on with her friend.

"Anyway I have something that will make you ever more excited I have been trying forever to tell you!! It turns out that Micheal does still keep in touch with Max. He is a lawyer in NY. " Maria said smiling.

"Yes Maria I know." Liz said as she rolled her eyes. "Wait how do you know?" Maria said confused.

"Let just say that Max had something to do with the really amazing weekend" Liz siad grinning as Maria screamed. "What!!! You meet, like he was in Boston, at your apartment , Max Evans in the flesh!!!! Maria said in shock.

"Yes Maria it turns out the former owner of my apartment a Mr. Broady Davis was a client of Micheals and Max had to pick up a painting for the exhibit. His car brok down so he spent the weekend here." Liz said glowing.

"Oh my god Liz this is incridible!! Wait he stayed at your apartment as in like sleep over!!! Maria said not believing her ears.

"Yes well he slepted in my bed because my furnature didn't come until saturday." Liz said as she looked over at her bed and smiled.

"Wait he slepted in your bed you guys didn't have out of this world passionate sex did you?" Maria said half jokeing and half seriously.

Liz hestated for a minute and then answered "Yeah Maria It was incredible!! I saw stars!!!" Liz said laughing as her cheeks turned beat red.

"I was going to say. Your still a virgin right?" Maria said trying to get some answers knowing her best friends answer all to well or so she thought.

"No." Liz said smirking as their was dead silence over the phone. "My own Liz Parker lost her virginity to Max Evans!! Wow I never thought you Liz out of all people. I guess the right one finally came along." Maria said smiling at her friends right of passage.

"Yes he did. Oh my god Maria he hasn't changed I am more in love with him then I was before. He grew up really nice." Liz said beaming.

"Thats great Liz I am so happy for you!!! I laways thought Max was a great guy. Now I want details about you seeing stars. Liz laughed "Maria"

Oh come on Liz you can't leave your best friend hanging here." Maria said all excited to get the jucy details.

" Ok Fine" Liz said smiling as she started to tell maria about her weekend with Max of course there were some things she would hold back after all some secrets she would keep lock up in her heart for only her and Max to know.

Max glanced up a the clock as he sat at his desk fileing the last of the weeks report. He sighed as his mind drifted back to his encounter with destiny in Boston as he started to day dream.

Micheal had been shocked to hear the news over the phone. "Yeah right Max sure Liz Parker Your dreaming again Max. Next thing you will be saying is how you two had sex." Michael said trying to knock some sence into his friend.

"Thats not funny Michael." Max said defensively. "Wait so your not making this up. Wow Max I am sorry. So how is she?" Michael said in shock.

"Liz is really well. She has a great job and she showed me around Boston. Micheal did you know she lived there?" Max said trying to figure out if he knew.

"Maxwell I was as clueless as you as to were Liz Parker lived. I honestly had know idea. Thats so weird you meet her after all these years. So how was your weekend?" Micheal said smiling.

"It was amazing. Michael she is gorgeious. Oh my god she is beautiful." Max said glowing.

Michael just laughed "Your hopless man" he said shacking his head. "I am so happy for you I always liked Liz." Michael said smiling. "So is that all she showed you Boston?" Michael said smirking.

"Michael" Max said rolling his eyes and smiled. "I figured you would lose it to Liz. I am sure it was amazing. You don't have to give me details unless you want to." Michael said respecting his friends feelings.

"Thanks Michael." Max said smiling. "But can you tell me how you meet I am dying to hear the story and about your time together." Micheal said hoping his friend would give him some details.

"Sure Michael I think I can do that." Max said sighing as he begain the tail. However some things he was glad he could keep locked away in his heart for only him and Liz to know.

Liz sighed as she put the last of her rest of her research away. She streached and looked up at the clock and then the phone rang. "Hello" she said as a cheerful voice graced the other line.

"Liz it's Elieen I was wondering if you would want to come out with me tonight with the usual crew I think they wanted to go to the bar Cheers tonight. Anyway it should be interesting to see how Doug acts around you being you now have a boyfriend." Elieen said laughing.

"Actually Elieen I was wondering if you would want to go some place to talk and maybe get something to eat. We can hit the bars and meet up with everyone later." Liz said as she smiled. "Sure thing Beth besides I want to hear all about this man of yours." Elieen said smiling.

"Trust me there is much to tell. You can some over and then we can head over to the Black Rose for dinner and meet up with everyone at Cheers later." Liz said smiling.

"Sure thing Beth see you at eight." Elieen said as Liz clicked off her phone and went to get ready for her Thrusday night out on the town.

Max sighed looked at the minute hand tick away as he filpped a business card with a Mr. Broady Davis address scribble onto it. and then the phone rang he jumped as the ring broke his train of thought as he answered it.

"Hello" he said "Hi Max. It's Tess look I know it is last minute but my friends are throwing me a welcome to New York party tonight downtown and I was wondering if you would want to come." Tess said bubbly over the phone.

Max thought for a minute "What the hell." He thought besideds he needed a night out after the busy week he had and then answered "Sure Tess where is it at?" Max said "Trinity The cab should know where it is." Tess said smiling.

"Ok sounds good. What time?" Max said as he glanced down and glanced over his notes. "Eight. Oh I can't wait it's going to be just like old times!!" Tess said beaming.

"Ok so eight at Trinity. See you then Tess bye" Max said as he hung up the phone.

He then sighed and gathered up his things as he got ready to leave. He walked out of the tall office building and on the to busy streets as he hailed down a taxi.

The yellow cab came to the curb with a hault as Max climbed in the back giving the driver the name of the bar as he shut the door and the cab picked up speed and drove faster down the busy streets as night started to weave it's web over the city.

Chapter Seventeen

The nosy bar was in full swing as a cloud of smoke filled the air as Max made his way into Trinity and worked his way through the weekend crowd. "Max you made it" Tess yelled as Max made his way over to the crowd around Tess at the bar.

"Won't miss this for the world" Max said as he gave Tess a hug and handed her a red rose. "This is for you. Welcome to New York." he said smiling. "Thank you." Tess said smiling.

"Yo Tess who is Mr. Prince Charming?" A tall woman with a short cut tossled blond hair, heavy dark makeup, a black dress and spiky boots said as she made her way towards her. "Oh Lannie this is Max. Max this is Ava's friend Lonnie." Tess said as the two shook hands.

"Nice to meet you" Max said as they shook hands. "The pleasures all mine" Lonnie said as she glanced Max up and down and smiled. "Hey Lonnie we got a booth and I got our drinks if you want to come"

A man with dark spiky hair dressed in a long green shirt and back paints came over and placed his arm around her and he started to kiss his neck. "Quite it will ya" Lonnie said as she brushed him off. "Names Rath nice to meet you." he said as he shook Max's hand.

"Max Evans" Max said as he watched the two make their way to the back as Lonnie smacked him on the back of the head saying "What the fs wrong with you" as they sat down at the tabel.

"Sorry about that. They sometimes get that way. I can't believe they have lasted this long together." A woman with a short black hair with pink streeks that was cut into a bob,wearing a short black skirt, long balck boots, and dark blue sweater said as she looked at Max. "It's alright and you are?" Max said looking at the woman sitting next to Tess.

"Ava. Nice to meet you" She said smiling with kind shy eyes as Max shook her hand. "Ava this is Max Evans a friend of mine from way back" Tess said beaming. "Oh is this the Max you talk about alll the time. It's nice to finally meet you.

Tess has told me so much about you" Ava said smiling. Max looked up at her and raised his eyebrow. "I hope only good things" he said smiling as Tess hit him on the arm as the three laughed.

"Well if it isn't the man himself" Rath yelled as a tall dark and handsome man with tossled brown hair dressed in a black sweater dark paints and leather jacket man his way into the bar.

"Don't you forget it" he said as he patted Ralf on the back and made his way towards Ava kissing her on the cheek. "Zan you made it!" Ava said as she embrased him with a huge hug. "Zan this is Max. Tess's friend." Ava said as the two exchanged introductions.

"Drinks are on me! I got this round after all it's time to celebrate Tess moving here to the Big Apple" Zan said as he placed an order to the bar tender and sat down next to Tess handing her a drink.

"Tess are you sure?" Max said looking at her concered. "Oh Max always the protector. One drink will not kill me." She said looking up at him with innocent eyes. "Come on lets go join the others." Tess said grabbing Max's hand as they made their way to the back.

"Here is to finally finding a man and to womanhood." Elieen said as she handed Liz a shoot from the bar. They both downed the liquide feeling it burn in their thoats as they made their way to the booth where their freinds where sitting.

"Oh don't look so sad Doug you will find someone." Elieen said as she took a swig of her drink and sat down. "I'm getting a drink." Doug said as he got up and made his way to the bar. "Elieen you are so bad." Liz said as sat down across from her. "After all it's not my fault he is so shallow." Liz said looking at Doug as he glanced at her quickly as Liz and Elieen laughed.

"So Beth when is this dream guy of your coming to visit again?" Elieen said as she sipped her drink. Liz hestated her and Max really didn't exchange phone numbers let alone say if they would ever see each other again.

"Soon. Kowing him he is just full of surprises." Liz said as she took a sip of her drink trying to forget her loss of being away from the love of her life. "Oh well will you look who it is?" Elieen said eyeing a man with short black hair and a straight face came in smiling wearing a tan coat and button down plaid shirt. "Non other then freakin Eddie!!" Elieen said smiling.

"This should be an interetsing night." She said smiling as she ran up and huged him. "Wow Elieen stop it your suffacating me!" Eddie said laughing as he smiled and made his way to the booth Liz was sitting at.

"So Parker I hear you have a man." He said smiling. "Does the whole world have to know!" She said eyeing Elieen as the three laughed and ordered some drinks.

"So Tess and I are locked out of the school right and Kyle Valenti is in trying to get the final exams only problem is Tess knows the password to get into the computer..." Max said. "So the idiot then goes into the earser room to find something to break the window to let us in. The jerk thinks earsers will break it so he is flinging easers at the window." Tess said laughing.

"Meanwhile his friend Malamoot breaks into the guidance office and gets a basket and throws it at the window breaking it. We climb in however by that point the schools alarms was going off and we grabbed what ever we could and fleed.

Turns out the next day we grabbed the wrong file and had to bring it back. It was priceless trying to place it back on Tropolskies desk. So much for trying to get out of finals" Max said as he took a sip from his drink as he and Tess laughed.

"Dame I had know idea our sweet innocent Tess was such a trouble maker I thought she was more innocent then this one over hear." Lonnie said pointing to Ava as she shrugged her shoulders. "It's always the quite ones that surprise you." Zan said pulling Ava close as she blushed.

"Mind if I join you guys?" A short man in a business suit with short spiky hair said as a tall woman with blond hair a sullen face wearing a black business suit sat down. " Well look who the cat dragged in. Nicholas Crawford and Vanessa Whitager. How the hell are you?" Zan said as he greeted the two.

"Tess I see you are having a great time." Nicholas said as Tess smiled. "Max this is my coworker Nicholas and his girlfriend Vanessa Whitager."

"Whitager as in congresswoman Whitager." Max said shacking her hand. "Wow he is a smart one Tess. Yes. Nice to meet you." She said smiling. "It's an honor to meet you." Max said smiling as he shook her hand and then Nicholas.

"Sorry we are late but you know how it is. We will have another round. I'll have a gin and tonic and a scotch for the lady." Nicholas said placing his order in to the waitress.

"So Liz whats the new Apartment like? I am dying to see it." Eddie said as he took a sip of his beer. "It's incredible. You all should come and see it." Liz said smiling.

"Hey we all should throw you a house warming party." Elieen said beaming as Doug smiled. "Yeah thats a great idea Elieen I can cook dinner." Doug said smiling. "I'll bring the dessert" Eddie said "And I'll bring the wine." Elieen said. "You guys really don't have to do this." Liz said humbled by her friends reactions.

"Hey for you Liz it's nothing. Look Liz I am really sorry about the way I have been acting. I have no right to it wasn't like we were going out or anything. Can we still be friends?" Doug asked looking at Liz. "Sure Doug as long as you stop being so annoying towards me. Ok." Liz said looking up at him.

"Sure thing. Yeah we can throw the party one day after work. You can even invite that boyfriend of yours." Doug said smiling. "Yes so invite him. I would love to meet him!" Elieen said beaming. "OK well we shall see." Liz said smiling.

"Quite it will ya." Lonnie said as Rath satrted kissing her neck. "Your hot what can I say." Rath said in a slurred voice. "I am serious you won't get any tonight if you keep on doin that" Lonnie said as Rath moved away.

"Oh know not those two again." Ava said shacking her head. "I am going to go and get a drink." Max said as Vanessa followed him to the bar. "So Max are you having fun?" She said as she took a sip of the amber liquide as the scotch burned in her thoat.

"Yes. I am glad Tess invited me. her friends are too funny. Nicholas is a great guy." Max said as he watched Nicholas tell another joke making everyone laugh. "That he is. So anyone special in your life?" She said eyeing him. Max slightly smiled. "Yeah their is." He said glowing.

"Do you treat her well." Vanessa said as she ordered another drink. "Yes"Max said. "Good and does she love you?" Vanessa said as she paied the bartender. "Yes more then ever." Max said beaming. "I was dating this guy named Pierce and I thought he was the right one for me so I thought at the time.

I was new to the whole political world and he helped me a lot. But there was nothing no spark or common interest. He treated me bad I was lucky to get out.I thought I would never love again and then Nicholas came along and changed my life. And why and I telling you this. I must be really drunk. Sorry" She said rubbing her head.

"No go on" Max said looking at her. She sighed "Anyway whats her name?" "Liz" Max said shocked by how soft his voice sounded when he said her name as his eyes glowed.

"Well Liz must be really lucky to have you in their life. One thing I can tell you is that when you find the right one don't let them go no matter what." Vanessa said smiling as she patted Max on the back as she walked back to where Nicholas was.

"Yo The bar is closing in 10 minutes lets move it!" Lonnie said as her and Rath got their coats. "Look Ava I am coming back to your place right?"

Zan said as he started to kiss her passionatly. "Oh course you are!" Ava said smiling. "Where is Tess?" Ava said "Over'a there" Lonnie said as Tess stuggled to get up. "How much did she have!" Ava said in concern.

"I am not sure" Lonnie said. "Lonnie I asked to look out for her she has a problem you know!!!" Ava said as her and Max drapped Tess's arms around there shoulders.

"Whatever Ava. See you later" She said as her and Rath left. "I hate it when they do that!" Zan said annoyed as he helped them outside. "Nice to meet you Nicholas and Vanessa" Max said as he waved them goodbye. "You too. Take care Max." They said as they left.

"Look Ava if you and Zan had plans for tonight I can have Tess stay at my place. I am used to her like this in the past." Max said as Ava looked at him with gental eyes.

"Are you sure?" Ava said concerned. "No problem. Ava I don't mind you and Zan have fun." Max said smiling at them. "Thanks man. I owe you one." Zan said smiling patting Max on the back as he hailed a cab for them.

Liz walked into her new apartment and shut the door. "What a night" she thought.She was really drunk and all she wanted to do was get some rest. she sighed as she got ready for bed. Once she was changed she snuggled into her bed and closed her eyes soon she was in a deep sleep.

Max opened the door to his apartment and helped Tess inside before he closed the door. "Max" Tess groned as he helped her out of her cloths and gave her a t shirt and sweat paints to wear to bed.

"Had a little too much to drink their tiger" He said as he pulled down the covers to his bed and placed her down onto the bed. He then tucked her in.

"Max I am so sorry.God I feel like hell. My head. Why is the room spilling." She said groggy as she closed her eyes. "Get some sleep Tess." Max said as he kissed her forehead.

In a few seconds Tess was out like a light as Max made his way into the living room and made his way towards the coach where he sat down and rubbed his eyes.

He then went to take his keys out of his pocket when he felt something inside his pocket as his eyes widened as if he forgot something.He then looked at the clock and quickly scribbled a note leaving it by his bed side where Tess slepted and quitly shut the door as he quickly ran out of the apartment.

Chapter Eighteen

Liz sighed and opened her eyes in the dark room as a pair of two amber eyes greeted her. "This is a dream" she whispered softy. "Then it is a good dream" Max said as he pulled her into a passionate kiss. "Max" Liz sighed. "It's 3 in the morning." she said smiling.

"I know I drove all night I just had to see you again." He said as he kissed her. It was the business card of a Mr. Broady Davis Max had felt inside his pocket that sparker his interest to take a midnight drive to Boston. "I missed you" Liz sighed as she rubbed her hand along his cheek.

'Liz you have no idea how much I missed you" Max softy said as he threaded his hands through her hair as he pulled her close and deepened his kiss as he ever so slowly started to remove Liz's shirt in the moon light.

Max sighed as the sent of strawberries filled the air as he breathed in Liz's sent that was lingering on her hair. "Morning." he whsipered as Liz blinked her eyes open.

"What time is it?" she groaned. "It's seven." Max said as Liz smiled. "Don't you have work!" Liz said in shock rememering it was friday. "I took the day off." Max said smiling as Liz laughed and kissed him as he held her close.

Liz then threaded her fingured through his as they both lay naked under the sheets. Liz then sighed. "Um...Max" she said looking up into his eyes. "Yes" Max said smiling. Liz then bit her lower lip. "Well is it ok we take things slow. Not that I regret anything. It's just...It's just...."

"You want to get to know me on a deeper level first before we get all psychal." Max said finishing Liz's sentance. "Exactually" she said in shock as to how Max could read her mind.

"I want to know all of you your hopes and dreams what makes you tick your desires your fears all of you." Liz said softy. "Me too" Max said as he rubbed Liz's arm. "I just want my wedding night to be really special and know that I love that person with my whole heart body and soul." Liz sighed.

"You deserve that Liz. I want you to be happy with who ever you choose." Max said feeling his heart tighten as he said the words as he got up out of the bed and put his boxers back on.

Liz blinked her eyes and got up holding the sheets around her body. "Who said you wouldn't be there?" Liz said in shock. Max smiled "Liz Parker did you just propose to me?" He said in shock. "No it's more like a promise between you and me." Liz said smiling.

Max smiled and then got down on one knee as Liz laughed. "Max" Liz said blushing. He then took hold of her hand and looked into her eyes.

"Liz Parker I make a vow that I will take things slow and allow you to get to know my soul and that we will not make love until your wedding. This is my promise to you." he said softy as he kissed her hand and then pulled open the covers around her exposing her stomach as he softy
kissed it.

"Max" Liz sighed as she pulled his face to hers and kissed him. "I love you" she whisperd softy. "I love you" Max said as he pulled her into another kiss. They stayed like that for sometime. "Don't you have work?" Max said as he looked at the clock.

"Oh my god I foregot. You can come to work if you like." Liz said as she hurried to get dressed. "Sure I would love to see what you do." Max said as he grabbed his cloths. "Everyone is really nice oh yeah and don't worrry about Doug we worked things out and are friends. So you don't have to worry." Liz said as she brushed her hair.

"Thats good I can't wait to meet them all." Max said as he fixed the tie on his shirt. "ready to go" Liz said as she grabbed her bag. "More then ever." Max said as he placed his hand into Liz's as they left the apartment.

Tess groaned and opened her eyes. her head was pounding as she blinked open her tired eyes. She enjoyed the confortable feel of a t shirt and sweat paints that graced her as she snuggled back down into the bed breathing in Max's sent.

"Max" she called hoping he would greet her. But no one came she then glance over at the clock and saw a note next to the bedside.

Dear Tess,
I had to go to Boston for an emgerency business trip. Be back on Sunday.
Take two excedrin and drink the glass of water. Feel better.
Max

Tess placed the note back down on the night stand and took the excedrin and drank the glass of water Max had left for her. "Boston?" she thought. "Must be some hot case if he left this eary? I wonder what it is about? I can't wait to hear about it" she thought as she slowly got up and made her way towards the shower.

The water felt good against her body as she started to wake up. while she was in the shower the phone rang but she didn't hear becasue of the running water. The answering machine got it.

"Hi you have reached Max Evans. Leave a message. Beep" a cheerful voice graced the line.

"Hi Max it's your sister Isabel. Look I know you are not there but I just wanted to tell you that I will be coming to New York this week for Michaels art exhibit with non other then Alex Whitman. Long story I will tell you later. Anyway I was wondering if we could stay with you my fight gets in sunday night around 7. Let me know hope all is well. Miss you love you bye." Isabel said as she hung up as Max's answering machine went flashing red.

Tess quickly got out of the shower and looked at the answering machine blinking. She figured that being Max was away she would respect his missed phone calls and quickly got dressed. She then opened up her cell phone and gave Ava a call.

"Hi Ava" Tess said. "Tess" Ava said sleeply as Tess could hear Zan voice in the back ground. "Look I am at Max's I think I am going to stay her for a little while. If that is ok." Tess said as she scanned his apartment.

"Sure stay as long as you like. Have fun" Ava said as then hung up. Tess grinned as she closed her cell phone and then went to make some breakfast.

"So Beth I finally meet that mystery man of yours." Elieen said as she shook Max's hand. "Nice to meet you" She said cheerfully. "Same here" Max beamed. "Max this is Eddie" Liz said as she watched the two shack hands. "Nice to meet you." Eddie said as he smiled and then got his chart.

"Hey Liz." Doug said running up to her and then stopped when he saw a rather tall fimilar looking man holding her hand. "Hey Max. Nice to see you again." He said smiling "Same here" Max said as the two shook hands.

"Oh hey are you coming to Liz's house warming party tonight right?" Doug said. "Of course won't miss it for the world." Max said as he squeezed Liz's hand. "Great see you guys later." Doug said as he grabbed his chart and rushed off to the lab.

"Miss Parker. And you are?" Dr. Holt asked as she smiled at the couple in frount of her. "Oh Dr. Holt this is Max Evans." Liz said. "Pleasure" Max said as he shook her hand. "Nice to meet you too." Dr. Holt said smiling.

"Dr. Holt is it ok that Max spends the day with me?" Liz said. "Sure but I don't know how interesting it is going to be with research and labs." Dr. Holt said as she pushed the glasses futher up to her face.

"Oh thats alright I have always had a love for science." Max said smiling. "Well then maybe you can help Miss Parker out with her lab today. She seems to still be having trouble in the chemestry part of the research." Dr Holt said eyeing Liz.

"I think I could help her out with that." Max said as he looked at Liz. "Good have the report on my desk by five today." Dr. Holt said smiling as she handed Liz her chart and walked away.

Liz smirked "Come on Mr. Scientest. The lab is this way." Liz said as she walked down the hall.

"So you really have trouble with Chemestry? I never would of thought you out of all people, I mean Miss A student and all?" Max said smiling.

"Don't try me Evans!" Liz said defensively as she glared her eyes at him. "Oh really is that a threat Miss Parker?" Max said smirking "Dame she she looked so sexy when she was angery". Max thought as Liz staired up at him

"I wouldn't be the one to talk Max considering you didn't even know what the periodic table of elements was until you were lab partners with me" Liz said as she staired him down as they stopped in frount of the lab door.

"Oh really and who did most of the work when we had to combined elements together." Max said as he leaned in closer to her. "Well at least I didn't set myself on firer and almost burn down the school!" Liz said defensively.

"You were the one who set me on firer!" Max said but before Liz could say another word he leaned down pulled her into a passionate kiss. Liz gasped breathlessly.

"So don't tell me I don't know anything about chemestry." Max said softy before he pushed the door open as he walked inside leaving Liz speechless as she gathered her thoughts and quickly followed him.

Chapter Nineteen

An array of cloths and dishes lay over the apartment as Tess looked around the place. Max's place was mostly clean it just needed some tideing up. She washed the dishes and picked up Max's cloths placing them inside his bedroom.

Tess sighed as she finished up and then started to look around his apartment at the array of pictures of family and friends he knew long ago.
She croached down and looked at the books he had placed under the pictures on his bookshelf. She smiled when she saw a fimilar dark blue and silver book shoved in the back as she pulled it out.

"West Roswell High 2002" She said as she read the cover out loud. "It's been a long time" she said as she sat down on the couch and started to flip through the black and white pictures of her past.

Tess Harding and Max Evans were the hight of couple royality as they were crowned King and Queen at the 2002 Senior Prom the caption read as a picture of a boy and a girl wore crowns and shashes saying Prom King and Prom Queen as they posed and smiled for the camera.

"Aw Max such the star player" she said smiling as she flipped to althletics. There under the basketball page was an array of pictures of games the team had played through out the years.

Kyle and Max were in some of them making 3 pointers and free throw shots in their blue and gold uniformas. There were even some of Tess with the Cheerleading squad as they cheered from the sidelines dressed in white and blue uniformas with a hugh R in the frount complete with blue and gold pompoms.

Her eyes scanned over the black and white pictures until they fell apon a picture of the squad cheering on the sidelines as the basketball team defended their undefeaded title during their sophmore year.

West Roswell High Comets soar to new hights as they end their undefeated season winning the 2000 basketball high school championship.

The caption read as Tess looked at the girl with long brown hair cheering next to her as her mind wondered back to the championship game.

She could remember the game like it was yesterday. The whole school had been prepairing for weeks as the basketball team practiced their dribbling and free throws, as the cheerleading squad sharpened their cheers and routines, while the school was busy making flyers, selling tickets and supporting school spirit.

The shouts and cheers were intense as they shomped and cheering their team to victory as West Roswell High took on their rival East Roswell High. It was the 4th quater the scored was tied as both teams took a time out.

"VICTORY IS OURS AS COMETS FLY AND SCORE TONIGHT LETS GO WEST ROSWELL HIGH FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!!" The squad cheered on the side lines.

"Do you think we have a chance of winning?" Liz said as they finished their cheer. "We have a pretty good chance, I think god the suspense is killing me!!!" Vickie Delany said as she clutched her pompoms tight as her nerves raced as she jumped up and down.

"Don't worry we win this! I mean we are undefeated and if I know Kyle and Max they still have a few tricks up their sleeves" Tess said as the buzzad rang saying that the time out was over.

Kyle had the ball and raced down the court as he dribbled it. Max ran towards the basket watching Kyle.

Tess watched intensely form the sidelines hoping they would score.

"Kyle" Max said saying he was open by holding his hands in frount of him as Kyle passed it. he grabed the ball and started running for dear life as he drippled closer to the basket.

Tess then turned and looked over to her left hand side as she saw the look on Liz's face as she stared and watched ever move Max made.

"Come on Max" she murmered under her breath as Tess turned and started shouting

"LETS GO MAX LETS GO!!" And then it happened. Max fell to the floor as he colided with another player falling into Kyle as they both hit the floor.

The buzzard sounded calling a time out as the squad kneeled showing a man was down as the gym grew silent. The moment felt like an internaty as the coach and school nurse helped and looked over the fallen players.

"What happened?" Pam Troy asked concerned. "I think they both sprained their ankels? That was a pretty bad fall." Vickie whispered as the squad watched the display.

Tess looked over at Liz who looked like she was frozen as her face grew white as she watched Max. From the looks it seemed that she was as concerned like everyone else was about what happend as Tess looked at her.

However it was her eyes that gave her away. The glimmer of love and concern flashed deep inside them as if she herself had fallen to the floor along with Max.

It was then that the green light of jeliously flashed and burned bright inside Tess's eyes as she staired at the sweet girl next to her.

Eventually cheers were heard as both Max and Kyle were helped to their feet both limping and brought over to the bench.

Tess broke from her train of thought as she stared cheering "LETS GO COMETS!!" and smiled at Max as he sat next to Kyle on the bench.

The game turned out to be a victorious one as West Roswell High won the title in over time. The gym went crazy as the team rushed onto the court as the crowd cheered. Eventually the crowds started dwindling as the students went out to celebrate their victory.

"It's ashame about my boyfriend getting hurt" Tess coldly said in a sweet voice as she staired at Liz. "I'm sorry" Liz said softy as Tess staired at her before she left to join the others.

The next year Liz tried out for the cheerleading squad but didn't make it.

"Oh I'm sorry Liz. Their were too many people trying out and we could only take a certain amount. We wanted to give the freshman a chance. You can understand." Tess said as she staired at her confused classmate.

"Yeah I understand." Liz said nodding her head. "Bye Tess" Liz said. "Bye Liz" Tess said as she and her friends walked passed her "Freak" Tess yelled as the others smirked and laughed as Liz watched them leave as her heart tightened feeling the hurt inside her as she clutched her books close to her.

"The perfect Liz Parker! Gag oh I think I am going to throw up. I wonder what she is doing now. She is probably some science freak and is dating some drok as boring and as geeking looking as her.

At least I had a real man back in high school. Yeah like she ever had a chance with Max Evans haha thats funny. She propably couldn't even handel a real man if she tried let alone talk to one." She said as her laughter pierced the quite apartment.

"Aw I needed a good laugh." Tess said as she closed the book and placed it back on the bookshelf.

A gorgeious looking man in a white lab coat emerged from the lab and handed in his paper work for the day.

"Well Mr. Evans It seems you missed your calling. I must say I never saw anyone make that conclusion before concering the out come of this research." Dr. Holt said as Max smiled "As I said before I always had a love for science." he said laughing as he handed in his white coat.

"Miss Parker you should have Max stop by more often. You two seemed to make quite a pair." Dr. Holt said as she filed the paper work. "It was all of those years of practice back in high school." Liz said smiling.

"Well I off I will see you tonight at 8 Liz for your party. Max it was a pleasure meeting you. See you two later." Dr. Holt said as she hurried out the door.

"Finally we are alone." Liz said as her eyes glowed. "Yes it seems we are" Max said softy. "You know the whole day I kept on thinking on how sexy you looked in that lab coat and hwo all I wanted to do was just ravish you" Liz said coyling as she moved in closer to Max.

"Oh really Miss Parker is that so?" Max said rising an eyebrow. "Yes" Liz said as she engulfed him in a passionate kiss. "You know Liz if you keep this up I am afraid you are going to be late for your party." Max said inbetween kisses. "Well I was thinking of showing up fashionable late." Liz said as she kissed him again.

"Max do you remember the easer room in high school?" Liz said looking up at him. "Of course thats where people would go to make out and other things. Why?" Max said looking at her.

"Well you see their is this room on the third floor and it reminds me of it. No one ever goes in there so what do you think?" she said as she kissed him again. "Sure I am always up for a little makeout session." Max said as he kissed her again and grabbed her hand as they ran up the staires laughing.

Yes I know they did have sex but after all they haven't seen each other in eight years so I wanted them to build a deeper relationship before they jumped into having sex again. Chapter Twenty

Music filled a apartment as it's tunes hummed from a radio. "I love this song it's so amazing" Isabel said as she listened to the music. "I know the lyrics are incredible" Alex said as he smiled and listened to the song "Your Star" by The All American Rejects

She screams when I'm away

I worried all the time, why worry anymore?

"This music so reminds me of you and all of the concerts you and your band The Whits played at in the backyards of parties that our class threw" Isabel said as she rocked her head back and forth to the music of the alternative sounds.

"Those were the best. I miss that band they were great." Alex said beaming as distant memories of the past came flooding back to him.
"I remember seeing you in the crowd at some of them" Alex said recalling Isabel standing frount row dancing and singing the words to all of The Whits songs.

Laughter was heard in an apartment as friends gather together for dinner as wine was poured and lively chatter filled the room. "Wait our own Beth was a cheerleader. Wow I never would of thought." Elieen said laughing.

"It's ture I played basketball back in high school. The uniformas were great they wore blue and white uniformas and had blue and yellow pom poms. We have pictures if you want to see" Max said laughing as Liz blushed from embarrassment as Elieen,Eddie, and Doug said all at once "Yes get them."

"Alright enough" she said rolling her eyes. " I am glad you had a good laugh over me."

"But know if you want to talk about uniformas you should of seen what she had to wear at work." Max said laughing. "Ok ok you had your fun. How about dessert" Liz said as she got up from the tabel. "Wait I want to hear about this one." Dr. Holt said smiling.

"OK fine. My dad owned this restruant called the Crashdown. It was an alien themed resturant so I had this blue green dress with a silver apron of an alien head and silver antena headband." Liz said rolling her eyes as she went to get her yearbook.

"Here you can check out pictures of me." Liz sighed as she handed Elieen the yearbook as they flipped through the book and laughed.

"Wow these are great. Aw you two were so cute!" Elieen said smiling as she looked at a picture of Max and Liz together in science lab. "Aw thats so sweet" Eddie said as both Max and Liz blushed with embarassment. "Ok ok enough down memory lane. Who wants coffee?" Max said as he got up from his chair.

"I do" they all chimmed as Elieen closed the book and handed it back to Liz. "So Liz you and Max were high school sweet hearts" Doug said looking at Liz.

Both Max and Liz flash a look at each other knowing full well the history of the two of them. They both knew that they weren't going out in high school and barely talked to each other other then in science lab. Yet some how the two always felt a connection to one another.

"Um yeah you could say that." Liz said as her and Max shared a look.
"wow thats great all these years it must be hard you being in New York and Liz being in Boston." Doug said as he helped with the dessert of blueberry pie with vanella ice cream.

"Yes be we manage despite the diatance." Max said as he placed his arm around Liz and kissed her cheek.

"So how is the exhibt going?" Maria asked as her and Michael shared a cup of coffee at the local Starbucks. "Almost there I will just be glad when friday is here. I can't wait for the opening." He said smiling at her. "I know how hard you have been working on it. It's nice to finally get some time with you." Maria said as she held his hand.

"Yeah thanks for stopping by. I needed a break." Micheal said as he looked into her eyes. "Anytime" maria said as she took a sip from her coffee. "I am so happy for Liz and Max" Maria said smiling. "I know I think it's great. It's about time those two got together." Micheal said laughing.

"Yeah tell me about it. Oh my god did you hear that Alex Whitman is coming to the opening! I can't wait to see him!" Maria said as she slapped Michael on the shoulder.

"Really wow! I haven't seen him in years. Thats great!" Michael said as he sipped his coffee remembering the skinny geeky kid who loved music,played the base, and was a loyal friend of Maria and Liz back in high school.

"Well I sent him an invite. I am so happy he can come." Maria said smiling as she finished her coffee. "Yeah should be one hell of a reunion." Michael said laughing.

"Well Spaceboy I will let you get back to your world of paintings and displays." Maria said as she got up from the tabel and gave Michael a kiss. "Thanks Maria for stopping bye. I will call you later." Micheal said as he walked her outside before she hailed a taxi home.

Elieen and Eddie said as they hugged them goodbye. "Max it was great meeting you. Take good care of this one."Doug said smiling as he hugged them goodbye.

"I will" Max said as Doug left. "Well Liz it was a great evening. Max a pleasure. I will see you Liz on monday. Have fun" Dr. Holt said as she closed the door behind her.

Liz fell into Max's chest exhausted. "I am so glad that is over. I am exhausted." She said looking into his eyes as he smiled. "What those midnight visits from strange men wore you out. I thought you would be use to them by now." He said smirking.

"Well their are a few I make an exception for and stay up really late." Liz said rolling her eyes as Max leaned in and kissed her. They broke from their kiss and smiled at each other. "Liz you can go to bed. I'll clean up." Max said. "You will. Oh thank you." Liz said as she kissed him and went to get changed for bed.

Tess climbed into Max's bed as her body shook. She hadn't had a drink in quight sometime and her body was reacting from the other night. She clutched the covers close as sweet dripped down her face.

"Just breath. It will be alright. You just need sleep." She whispered as tears formed in her eyes as she cried for making such a stupid mistake. It was times like this she wish she had someone to be with her.

First she thought of calling Kyle. He would understand what she was going through but she had no idea where he was at this point after leaving him six months ago.

She then thought of calling Max as she got up and started looking for the number of where could of been staying in Boston.

"Oh I just have to talk to him. He will understand what I am going through. He always did." However she found nothing.

"I have to get through this" She whisperd as she hands shook even more as tears fell. She then climed back into bed and closed her eyes praying sleep would help her recover.

Two figures slepted soundly as their heads lay on each other shoulders on the bed as Alex and Isabel feel deeper into their world of dreams.

They had fallen asleep still in their cloths as they stayed up the whole night talking. They sighed peacefully as they held each other close in the dark room.

Max finished cleaning up the kitchen and walked into Liz's bedroom. Liz was passed out in bed and sleeping peacefully. As Max took off his shoes and climed into bed next to her.

She looked beautiful sleeping as he looked at her face in the moonlight as he bent down and kissed her forehead before leaning his head back on to the pillow and hled her close as he closed his eyes as they two fell into a deep sleep.
