Chapter 11

Max slipped into the back room after Maria came out in her uniform. He needed to talk to Michael. Maria came back over to the table with the two girls drinks and a bottle of Tobasco.

“Thanks,” Tess said sweetly as she sipped her drink.

“Oh, so Maria, do you have any of those alien ties in the storage room?” Isabel asked. She giggled inside as Maria looked at her confused. “I wanna see one,” Isabel said.

Maria laughed, “ummm, ok. I can check.” She said dissapearing in back.

Maria walked into the storage room and the door shut behind her. “Shit!” she exlaimed, before she noticed that Michael was also in the stroreroom.

ON the otherside of the storeroom:

Max, Isabel and Tess listen closely to the interaction inside the room. Tess mindwarped the rest of the resturant, so that they couldn’t hear what was going in on the back.

Inside…

“Great,” Michael muttered as he went for the door. The handle was jammed. He tugged and turned on it, to no avail.

“You have to be kidding me,” Maria said. “Well, do your Samantha, geine, alien thing!” she demanded.

Michael huffed and tried to unstick the door. Due to his uncotrolled powers and Maria’s scent wafting to his nose, All that happened, was that he blew up the doornob.

“Ohh, God. We are never going to get out of here.” Maria said pacing the room.

Micahel felt bad. It was his fault they were trapped. “Help!” he yelled. But no one heard. No one, that is, excelpt, Max, Isabel, and Tess.

“Great. I’m stuck in here with you.” Maria mumbled sitting on the floor and pulling out a bottle of cypress oil. She sniffed it once, twice, three tiems. It didn’t seem to be working. Michael looked at her with fondness that he was trying to hide. He thought it was so cute the way she belived in that herbal stuff. “What are you staring at?” she asked, annoyed.

“Nothin’” Michael grummbled before looking away.

“What is wrong with you?” Maria asked.

“Me? What are you talking about?” Micahel asked.

“I mean, why can’t you just…uhhhhh” Maria sighed in frustration.

“Why can’t I what? Be normal? Cause I’m not, Maria. Get it through your head that I’m not normal. I can never be normal.” Michael yelled.

“That’s not what I was going to say.” Maria said quietly. She wanted to get some things off her chest. She wanted to understand why he avoided her.

“Why can’t I be enonugh, Michael. Why is some destiny that you don’t remember more important to you than me?” She asked looking him in the eye. He wanted to look away, but her greep pools drew him back in.

“Maria, it isn’t that.” Michael said, shoulders slumping.

“Then what is it Michael? Tell me. We are locked in here, alone. No one will be able to hear you, tell me why you can’t be with me!” Maria pleaded.

“Because I Love you! And I can’t watch you get hurt!” Michael yelled at her.

Maria got up off the floor and walked over to Michael. “Michael! I AM hurting. Beucase you keep pushing me away. Don’t you understand? I’d rather face death everyday and be with you, than to have you push me away.” Maria said, tears springing to their eyes.

Michael’s heart was breaking. He hated seeing her cry. Before he could stop himself, he wrapped his arms around her. Maria quickly moved away. “I don’t need your pity. You don’t need to try to make me feel better.” She said angrily swiping away her tears.

“That’s not what I’m doing,” Michael said walking to her. “I hate to see you cry. Don’t you know how hard this is for me, Maria? I love you. I want to be with you. And that scares me. But I can get past that, you have to be patient with me. But if you get hurt because of me, I would die.”

“Than be with me, Michael. Be with me and I wont ever be hurt.” Maria pleaded, closing the gap between them. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled his face down her her’s locking lips with him.

Michael resisted for only a second, but then gave in. He pulled her into him and probed her mouth with his tounge. “Maria,” he breathed through parted lips.

She opened her eyes and looked into his as her hands toyed with the hem of his shirt, slowly lifting it. Before Michael could stop himself he lifted his arms alowing Maria to pull the shirt off of him. They had long forgotten where they were, they needed each other.

Michael’s hands moved up and down Maria’s uniform clad body. “Michael I need you.” Maria whispered into his ear.

“We see it worked,” Tess said with a grin 10 miles wide. Everyone laughed except Michael and Max.

Chapter 12

“Isn’t it great how Michael and Maria made up?” Tess asked looking at Max as he drove back to her house.

“Yeah. It’s awesome.” Max said. “Though, I really didn’t need to hear them having sex.” He said with a grin.

Then he remembered something. “So, my mom wants to invite you to dinner, tonight. I mean, you don’t have to. But Isabel is bringing Maria, and Michael. I thought it would be nice.” Max said looking back at the road.

“Yeah, that would be great. I’d really like to officially meet your parents.” Tess said smiling warmly. No guy had ever wanted her to meet mom and dad. Usually, they just wanted o get into her pants, and when they realized it wasn’t going to happen, they gave up on her all together.

“Great. So I’ll come get you at 7:00.” Max said.

Tess smiled at him, and changed the subject. “So, have you talked to Kyle yet? He gets home from camp next week. I think it might be a good idea for you to talk to him.” Tess suggested.

Max nodded. “Yeah, I’ve been thinking the same thing. I know he isn’t going to tell anyone. I trust him. It’s just that he is apart of the group now, weather he wants to be or not, and I want him to feel comfortable with us. You know, after everything with Liz.”

Tess nodded. She knew exactly what he ment. “He will come around, Max. I know it. I can feel it.” She said holding his hand.

When they pulled up to her house, Tess got out and kissed Max on the cheek. “Ok, I’ll see you tonight.” She said.

Max quickly pulled her back into the car. “That was my good-bye kiss?!?” he asked incredulously.

Tess giggled and kissed him hard on the lips, slipping her tounge into his mouth. She broke away and asked, “Better?”

“Much,” Max said, grinning at her.

Tess walked with Max to the door her hands shaking nervously. “Tess, whats wrong?” Max asked stopping before they got to the door.

“Nothing. It’s just. I’m afraid that your parents won’t like me. I mean, I’m sure they loved Liz and everything. I’m not like Liz. I’m not on my way to being valedictorian. I’m not perfect or anything.” Tess explained.

Max lifed her face to look at him. “Tess, you are great. My parents are going to love you. I promise. Sure, my mom likes Liz, but they were never close or anything. But she knows that I’m not with her, and that I’m with you now. That’s why she wanted you to come over.” Max explained.

Tess smiled and nodded and Max led her inside. They walked into the living room where Diane, Philip, Michael, Isabel, and Maria were talking. “Max!” Diane greeted.

“Hey. Mom, Dad, this is Tess. Tess, this is my mom, Diane, and my dad, Philip.” Max intoduced. Tess shook their hands and smiled.

“It’s really nice to meet you.” Tess said.

When they sat down to dinner, both Diane and Philip were impressed with Tess. She was sweet, smart, and funny. They could tell their son was happy and they he really cared about this girl.

They talked and laughed and had a wonderful time, and by the end of dinner, Tess was completely relaxed.

After dinner the teens congregated in the living room, and Diane and Philip got ready to go upstairs. Before Max left the kitchen, his mother stopped him. “She is really great, Max.” she said. “I can see a bond between you two.”

“Yeah, I really like her mom. I mean I REALLY like her.” Max said.

Diane smiled and patted her son on the cheek. “Night.” She said before retreating to her room.

In the living room, Michael and Maria were all over each other. Apparently their taking the relationship to the next level was so good, they wanted to do it everywhere. Max just shook his head.

Isabel rolled her eyes and said, “I’ll be happy when Alex gets back from his mom’s hosue. I’m starting to get lonely.” She said jokingly.

Max pulled Tess into his lap as he flopped onto the couch. She let out a little sqweek and kissed him on the cheek. “Get a room! All of you!” Isabel said laughing.

Maria looked up, embarrassed. “Sorry, guys,” she said. “I just can’t control myself.” Then she looked at Michael. “You wanna head to my house, baby? Mom, isn’t home.”

With a growl, Michael picked up Maria in his arms and without so much as a goodbye dashed out the house.

“Damn. I think Maria created a monster,” Tess said.

“So, what are you up to tonight, Isabel?” Max asked. What he really wanted to know was if she was going to be leaving him and Tess alone.

Apparently Isabel caught on, because she grinned and said, “I got some homework. I’m gonna go upstairs.” She hugged Tess and said goodbye.

“She didn’t have to go,” Tess said.

“But if she was here, we couldn’t do this.” Max said leaning in and kissing Tess softly and sweetly.

“yeah, and I really like doing that.” Tess breathed. As she pushed her hands under his shirt, feeling his muscles. “Mmmm, you make me so hot.” She moaned as she closed her eyes. “I can’t belive I just said that. I sound like an idiot. You do that to me.”

Max smiled at her. “I think its’ cute when you say things like that. It’s not like you don’t me me hot.” He said pushing his erection into her thigh.

Chapter 13

“So, let’s get girls night officially started with some Steel Magnolias.” Isabel said whipping out the DVD. The girls had decided, once Alex got back, that they should have a girls night, while Michael, Max, and Alex had a guys night with Kyle. They wanted Kyle to feel a part of the group. Besides, Isabel noticed that Tess and Maria were spending all their time with Max and michael. It was time to regroup.

“Yeah, I love this movie,” Maria said getting comfortable on the floor.

“I’ve never seen it.” Tess admitted plopping down next to Maria. Isabel and Maria’s jaws dropped at that.

“Never? How is that possible?” Isabel asked.

“Well, Nesado never let me watch ‘chick flicks’. He said they are too emotional. That they would make me weak.” Tess said rolling her eyes. She was starting to realize that Nesado didn’t know anything.

Finally they started the movie.

Meanwhile at Michael’s apartment…

“So what are we doing tonight?” Alex asked Max and Michael. Kyle looked kinda bored, and the whole point of this night was to get him to feel welome in their group.

“Breavheart?” Michael suggested.

Kyle perked up, for the first time that night. “You have it?” Kyle asked.

“Dude, it’s only the best movie ever made!” Michael said pulling it out as Alex and Max rolled their eyes. They had both had to sit though Breavheart too many times to count with Michael. But they wanted to make Kyle happy, so they smiled and nodded as Michael started the movie.

At Tess’s house…

“That was sooo good,” Tess said whiping her eyes.

“I know,” Maria said sobbering up from a full sob.

“I mean, It’s so sad, but at the same time, it is a happy ending.” Isabel said. Then she shook her head. “Ok, enough of that. It’s time for girl talk. We havn’t gotten a chance to talk a lot since our relatioships developed.” Isabel said looking at Maria spacifically.

“What? It isn’t my fault. You are the ones who locked us in the room together.” Maria said.

“Anyway,” Isabel said changing the subject. “So, how are things with you and Max?” she asked turning to Tess.

“Well, they are really good. I really like him. Its still really weird to know that we were like Married in anouther life.” She said.

Isabel and Maria nodded. “Yeah, but I mean, you shouldn’t think about that too much. I mean, it was anouther life. You shouldn’t let that get to you.” Maria said. “I mean, Michael and isabel were married in that last life, but they don’t have any feelings for each other now.” Maria reminded her.

“yeah, you are right.” Tess said nodding, “So, how are things with you and Michael?” she asked changing the subject.

“Really good. He has really opened up to me. I love him. I really do. I never thought I would fall in love, but here I am. In love with the last guy I thought I would ever even be attracted too.” Maria said.

Isabel and Tess smiled at their friend. She was so happy, and they were happy for her. “That’s great,” isabel said.

“So, what is it like? Sex I mean,” Tess asked blushing. She really wanted to know. She and Max were getting closer and closer and she wanted to be prepared if things went that far. She wanted Max, but she also wanted to be able to offer him something worthwhile in bed.

Maria giggled. “Amazing.” She said. Both Isabel and Tess listened intently. Maria sat up straighter and began, “It’s a totally amazing feeling. I mean, I don’t know if it is different with Michael because of his alien status, but he always seems to know what to do. God, it’s hard to explain. You kinda have to experience it.” Maria said.

“Wow.” Isabel siad. “Interesting. I’ll have to keep that in mind.”

At Michael’s Apartment…

“So, Kyle, are you ok with all of this?” Max asked. There was no point skirting around the subject.

“Well, yeah. I guess so. I mean. It’s a lot to take on. But you guys saved my life. If you were disgusting blood sucking aliens than I think you would have let me and my dad get caught and die.” Kyle explained.

“We just want you to be comfortable with all of this,” Alex explained.

“Yeah, I mean, I am.” Kyle said. “I got into buddhism after I was shot. I’m coming to terms with this stuff more.” He siad. “But anyway, enough about me, whats going on with you guys?” he asked.

“Well, Isabel and I are good. I think she is finally ok with us being together,” Alex answered.

“She really likes you, man. She just doesn’t want to get hurt,” Max said.

“How about you and Maria?” Kyle asked Michael, “Her mom and my dad have started dating, so she is kinda like my sister. So if you hurt her, I’m going to have to kill you.” Kyle said half-seriously.

“We are good. I love her.” Michael admitted. Everone respected that. Michael was not one to admit to being in love with anyone. And here he was telling a room full of guys that he was in love with a girl.

“What I want to know is how Max and Tess are developing,” Alex said with an evil grin.

Max blushed. “We are great. I really like her. I just don’t want to move too fast But some times it is hard. You know. Its like everytime I’m with her, I’m a walking hormone.” Max said chuckling.

“Yeah, I know how that is.” Alex and Kyle said at the same time.

“I don’t have to worry about that anymore.” Michael said grinning from ear to ear.

“Hey, rub it in.” Alex said.

“So, is it as awesome as we think?” Kyle asked getting into the conversation.

“You don’t even know man.” Michael said.

Chapter 14

The next night, Tess was sitting at her house alone. Max and Isabel had to go to dinner with their family, Maria and Michael were having ‘alone’ time, and Alex was in Sante Fe with his dad.

She flipped on the TV and started watching Real World. It was worthless TV but she found it amusing. All of a sudden, Tess heard someone in the house. Could that have been one of their enemies? She reached over and picked up and umbrella next to the couch and got up to investigate.

She heard the noise again. “Who’s there?” she asked tentatively.

Finally, Nesado walked through the arch leading into the Kitchen. “It’s me, deary.” He said with a sly smile.

“What are you doing here?” Tess asked putting down the umbrella.

“Just checking up on progress.” Nesado said.

“What the hell do you mean by that?” Tess asked. She didn’t like the way he said that.

“Well, you see, Tess. It is my job to ensure things are running smoothly between you and King Max,” Nesado said.

“What the hel business of yours is it?” Tess asked, defensivly. He had no reason to care about her love life.

“It’s my business,” Nesado started, coming toward her, until she was backed into a corner, “because I need to ensure that you lure Maxxie boy to your bed so that you can get pregnate.” Nesado said as if it was no big deal.

“What?” Tess cried outraged.

Nesado came closer, grabbing her arm and squeezing it tightly. “You need to get pregnate, then you need to tell Max the baby can’t survive her, so we can go home, and get off this god forsaken rock.” He elaborated.

“No, that is rediculous. I’m not going to do that. You know Kivar wants him dead.” Tess said defiantly.

“That is no concern of yours. You will deliver Max, Michael, and Isabel to Kivar, and he wil instate your child as the next King of Antar. You will live in the palace, and I will get my old job back.” Nesado said with a grin.

“No! I’m not doing it. I will never give up Michael, Isabel, and Max.” Tess shouted.

Nesado smaked her hard across the face. “You will do it, if I have to force you. You and Max with have sex, and you will get pregnate, or I will kill each of them one by one.” He said smaking her yet again.

Tess whimpered and grabbed her face. “Stop it. You are our protector. You can’t kill us. You have to do what Max says. So if I go to max and tell him your plan, he will have to force you to leave us alone.” Tess said raising her nose in the air like the true queen she was.

“You tell Max, and I will make sure you never see him again.” Nesado threatened with all his anger.

“Get away from me. Leave us alone!” Tess begged and he pulled her back to him. His grip on her arms was painful, and his cols callous eyes scared her.

“No, I will not. Now you go to the boy, use that hot body we created for you. Get him in bed. And then…well…you know the rest.” Nesado said with a wicked grin.

“No!” Tess screamed. It didn’t matter what Nesado said. She wouldn’t do that. She wanted her first time with Max to be special, and this was not special. Besaide, she would die before she let her friends be turned over to Kivar.

Nesado backhanded her, and she fell to the ground. He was using his alien might, and it hurt. Bust she rushed her her feet and grabbed the umbrella and pointed it at him. “What are you going to do with that,” Nesado spit out as he tried to grab for it. But Tess rushed him pushing the metal end deep into his chest.

Nesado gasped for a minute And grabbed the umbrella now sticking out of his chest. But it wouldn’t budge. He collapsed on the ground reaching for Tess her was whimpering on the floor. After a few moments, his movements stilled and he fell over onto the floor.

Tess moved to him tentativly to check his pulse. But before she could touch him, he collapsed into a pile of ashes in front of her. Slowly, she got up. Her head was pounding. She dialed Max’s cell phone.

“Hello?” Max said.

“Max, I need you. I…” Tess got out, before she collapsed on the floor.

Chapter 15

Max hung up the phone and rushed into his sister’s room. “Isabel, I have to go,” he said panicked.

“What, whats wrong?” Isabel asked getting off of her bed.

“It’s Tess, something’s wrong. She called. She sounded hurt, then she just passed out.” Max said.

“I’ll come with you,” Isabel said coming to the door. Max nodded and the two headed out the door.

Max drove the whole trip to Tess’s house, clinching the wheel. Isabel was worried too. She was worried about Tess, but she was also worried about her brother. She had never seen him like this. He, the good citizen, was breaking every traffic law in Roswell. So uncharacteristic.

Finally, they pulled into Tess’s driveway. Max turned off the car and ran into the house. “Tess!” he called out.

Finally, hear a whimper in the living room, “Max?” He ran toward the voice. He found Tess laying in the floor, cupping her cheek. He ran to her and kneeled beside her.

“Tess, baby. What’s wrong? What happened?” he asked on the verge of tears.

Tess removed her hand from her face, and Max could see a huge bruise, along with an impending black eye. “Can you fix this?” Tess asked.

Max nodded and placed his hand on her face. He concentrated, and Isabel saw as The brusies and cuts on Tess’s face disolved before her eyes. When he was done, he lifted Tess’s face so that she was looking him in the eye. “Now, tell me wah happened.” He said in a soothing but serious tone.

Tess sat up and hugged Max tight. “It was Nesado. He came back. He said these things. And when I told him ‘no’ he hit me. And I…I…I killed him.” She said bawling into Max’s chest.

Isabel looked around the room for Nesado’s body, and finally found a pile of ashes that must have been him in the kitchen. Max pulled back to look at Tess. “Tess, baby. You have to tell me what he said and exactly what happened.”

Tess whiped her tears and nodded. “I was watching TV. And I head a noise. So I took the umbrella and went to investigate. It was Nesado. So I asked him what he was doing back, since he was supposed to be in DC. And…” Tess began crying again. This time both Isabel and Max held her as she continued. “And he told me that I have to seduce you and have your child…so…so he could go back to Antar. He said the three of you would be killed and our child would be the hier to the thrown.” Tess said. Then she looked intently at both of them, “I could never do that. I mena you guys mean the world to me. I’d never betray you.” She said needing them to understand.

“I know you wouldn’t, baby.” Max said kissing her forhead.

Then Jim left the kids to get some bedding for the couch. “Thank you, Max.” Tess said.

The next morning, Kyle walked out into his living room. He was going to sit on the couch, but he found Tess laying there, half naked. “What the…” he said, scratching his head.

Chapter 17

“So, what are we doing tonight?” Maria asked as she sat down for her break with her friends at the Crashdown. She had been trying to put on a happy face all day. I mean if you, as her best friend, can see how much they love each other, she wil lbe able to see it eventually.” He said kissing her forehead.

Maria wasn’t so sure, but she nodded and smiled. Everything MIGHT be ok. But shit was going to hit the fan once Liz Parker landed in Roswell Airport.

Chapter 19

Maria took a deep breath and got into her car, ready for work. She hadn’t been able to get ahold of Max, Tess, Isabel, Alex, and Kyle to warn them about Liz coming. “Liz is up in her room. She wanted me to send you up when you got here. Just don’t be too long. Your shift starts in 15 minutes.” He said.

“Come in,” Liz called out from the other side.

“I missed you to. How was florida?” Maria asked.

“Here? When did she get here?” Kyle asked.

“Today. She just called me this morning and said she was going to be here when I get in for work. I tried to call you guys, but no one picked up.” Maria explained.

“Well, then I guess we might want to get out of here before she sees us,” Kyle said, knowing that a run in with Max, Tess, and Liz was not something that he though he could handle at that moment.

Just when he finished his sentence, Liz came out into the dinning room. She saw Max, Tess, and Kyle come in, and there was no one around, so she thought she would say hi. “Hey, guys.” She called in a sing song voice. She noticed Max move closer to Tess and turned her nose, but but then caught herself and smiled at both of them.

“Hey, Liz. How was florida?” Max asked, unable to take his eyes off of Liz. She looked so different. It wasn’t like he didn’t recognize her, it was just weird to look at this girl in front of him, and know that it was Liz. She was so different.

“So what are you guys going to have. You know we are going to shut down the kitchen in about 15 minutes, but I can get you guys something.” She said.

“Actually, we’ve already eaten, but we were going to come by and see if you and Michael were coming to the movies with us tonight.” Max said.

Maria shook her head, “No, Liz and I are going to catch up. But you might want to call Michael. He may want to go. But he had kind of a long night last night.” Maria siad with a grin. She forgot Liz was standing there.

Kyle and Max laughed. “Ok, well we will see you tomorrow at Michael’s.” Kyle said as they stood up and walked out. Maria shook her head. That hadn’t gone as badly as she thought, though she was concerned that she hadn’t heard Tess say a word since she saw Liz in the Crash.
