Part 11

Bumani hit Sark in the stomach and face stepping back and pulling out a gun. Liz had finally gotten through the rope and was waiting until Bumani was close enough to attack. “You really shouldn’t have betrayed me” Bumani warned Sark, taking a step closer.

Liz swung into action and kicked the gun out of his hand. Now on her feet she dodged a number punches as she dove for the gun. Once she had the weapon in her hands she spun and immediately shot Bumani’s two lackeys, before pointing the gun at Bumani himself. She shot him in the shoulder and he fell to the ground with a scream of pain.

Liz helped an almost unconscious Sark up and out of the factory. As they began walking, with Liz supporting much of Sark’s weight, she attempted to get Syd on her earpiece.

“Syd, do you read”

“Liz! I am driving back now, what the hell happened to you”

“We’re walking back; make sure you have a first aid kit with you”

“There’s one in the car, what do you mean we?”

“I’ll explain when you get here” Liz stated

Ten minutes later Syd pulled up next to them and jumped out of the car “Sark?! Liz what's going on?”

“Can you help get our aptly named vigilante into the car please?”

“The CIA is going to flip when they find out” Syd stated

“The CIA is not going to find out” Liz stated as they helped Sark into the back of the car

“Come on. I just want to go home”

On the flight home, Sydney offered to write up the report, while Liz patched up some of Sark’s injuries.

“So, what happens now?” He asked. The first thing he had said since leaving the factory

“You get better, you’ll have to stay with me because your house is probably being searched and then blown up. As for once you’re better I don’t know”

“I have a lock box that no one else knows about. It contains details of the Alliance’s office’s and”

“Shut up. I told you first off get better”

The three of them spent the rest of the flight in silence. By the time the plane landed in Albuquerque in was early morning on a Saturday. Sydney headed into the office where as Liz took Sark back to her apartment. After showing him to her spare bedroom Liz sat down and spent the next few hours catching up on over due homework.

It wasn’t long before she received a visit from Weiss.

“Hey, shit Syd said you got beat up, I didn’t think it would be that bad”

“Gee thanks”

“Well it’s not that bad” Weiss replied quickly

“I am guessing you are here to talk about Sark” Liz stated as they sat on her couch

“I have to take him in Liz”

“No” Liz simply stated as if it was final

“No? Liz, he’s… It’s Sark” Weiss reasoned

“He is your so called Vigilante. He has saved my life on countless occasions, even Sydney’s” Liz pointed out

“Look at the moment only Vaughan and I know, and obviously Sydney”

“And it’s going to stay that way”

“Look Liz, when Kendall finds out-”

“He’s not going to. Look you leave now and you tell Vaughan that if Kendall finds out and they take him, I’ll stop being a double agent”

“Get some rest” Weiss stated “Just be careful Liz” He added before leaving

Liz proceeded to get some rest as Weiss suggested

“My god Liz that’s horrible” Isabel gasped as Liz told the group what had happened on Monday.

“Yeah, well I’ll live and we managed to get the drugs away from the bad guys” She pointed out

“And how is Sark?” Kyle asked

“He’s gotten up to go to the toilet but apart from that he stays in bed. I’ve taken him food, but he’ll hardly eat. Listen I know I said I would explain where I saw Kyle’s birthmark but I can’t. You would want more information and if you look into this guy too many people would get suspicious and come after you”

“It’s alright Liz” Max pointed out “It’s bad enough with the Feds after us”

“A lot of my missions are based on this guy. I promise I will at least keep you guys up to date. Oh I almost forgot I’ll need you to come over later Kyle I have a crystal, thing that might be for the… What did you say it was Alex?”

“The granolith”

“You what?” Max questioned

“We were sent to get a key, I was talking to Alex he said it sounded alien”

“And you’re sure its safe with this murderer in your house?” Max questioned sounding very suspicious

“Its fine Max” Liz said calmingly

“We had our own little mission during the week” Alex pointed out

“It wasn’t really a mission Alex” Isabel stated “We destroyed the skins husks”

“You did what in the what now?” Liz asked

“They are the bad aliens” Kyle explained “They need a sort of skin suit to survive our atmosphere. But the husks only last fifty years. They shed skin kinda like snakes so they’re called skins”

“Right. Well I have to go and get an extension on my history assignment so I will see you all later” Liz said before she left

That afternoon she walked into her apartment to find Sark sitting on her couch using Liz’s laptop.

“What are you doing?” She asked as she headed over and sat next to him

“I am up loading the plan to eliminate the alliance”

“You should be resting” she pointed out

“Why are you helping me” Sark asked as he put the lap top down

“I don’t know. But you have saved my life many times, I think this is the least I can do”

“Thank you” Sark said sincerely

“So what info do you have?”

“Well, here you can see locations of the twelve alliance offices, including the two of Sd-6in Roswell and LA and the head quarters. On this disk is a program that will shut down each and every alliance mainframe”

“What's the catch?” Liz asked

“It will first need to be uploaded by a computer with unlimited access at Sd-6”

“Sloane’s”

“Precisely”

“Do you really think this will work?”

Sark nodded before shutting off the computer and handing Liz the disc with the program

“I have to ask you, why did you always turn up and help me out?”

“Because you’re a bad agent who needed help” Sark joked

“I am not” Liz argued “And you’re the one who had my help this time so if I’m bad what are you”

Sark chuckled

“Yeah that’s right. Now you go back to getting better, I am going to take this into the office”
