Liz's POV
I was the sort of woman who knew when to say no. I had that much respect and dignity for myself that I wouldn't allow myself to be someone's plaything when it comes to sex.
I wasn't questioning my actions when Max Evans had literally made me fall apart without the coitus involved. I didn't want him to stop. I wanted him to continue, I won't deny that.
It felt good that someone could make me feel so much doing barely anything.
He had magic in his fingers and I wanted more. I was shocked when he was touching me. Here in my bedroom, where anything could be possible between the two of us.
I hid my disappointment very well when he let go. I was more curious to know what his intentions were.
"Proposition?". I raise an eyebrow.
Max Evans needing to strike a deal with me was amusing. Why? Because I never expected a well paid model to ever need any help from a simple university student like me. I had heard some things about him. How he considered himself to be a walking god to women.
He tries to snake another hand up my dress again and I push his hand away. My dress falls around my thighs. "I'm not interested." I push him away. I zip up my dress after he tries to unzip it.
"Aww come on Liz." He pouts and pulls the puppy dog eyes. "You know you want to." He winked.
"Urgh." I rolled my eyes, snatching my shoe out of his hands. "Not another cheesy chat up line."
"Not even if I had the latest brands of designer wear to offer you?". He get's more serious, I put my shoes on and head toward the bathroom and shut the door.
He lingers outside the bathroom door. "I'll make it worthwhile for you Liz."
I fix my makeup, hair and get myself cleaned up. "Really?" I feign interest.
"I promise." He says and by the tone of his voice I could sense he wasn't playing around with me this time. "Sorry Liz."
I wash my hands and dry them before opening the door.
"Can you forgive me?". He asks hopefully.
I sigh. "If you take me out to dinner." I said, hoping I was making the right choice in asking him. "To your place." I added, watching the smile fade away.
There was no way he was going to snare me with a paid platter in some swanky restaurant. This guy would have to work for my respect. And he would have to do it the hard way.
***************
When we reached his 'bachelor pad' as he liked to call it, he flicked on the lights and the darkness was gone with a click to reveal beautiful furniture. Everything was spotless and well beautiful.
"Wow. Your maid goes a great job." I looked around, peeling off my coat. Max immediately takes my coat for me and hangs it on the coat hanger next to the door.
I stare at the crystal chandelier. "So pretty." I smile. The co -ordination of his furniture was flattering. It seemed like everything was positioned in the right place.
"Why don't you take a seat Liz?". Max asked, ushering me to the sofa and handed me the remote after switching the TV on.
"I might have a look around." I said, putting the remote down. "I hope you don't mind." I traced his lips with my index finger.
"Of course not." He smiled. I let go of his lip.
"Well, better start get cooking then." I teased. "I'm famished."
He hurries into the kitchen to get started. He's completely changed from the jerk Max back in my bedroom to a shy Max. I wondered if I had a part to play in his sudden change. I look around his lounge and decide to explore his den.
I start with the photoframe which sits near the crystal lamp. I notice a lot of crystal around in Max's place which tells me he doesn't usually bring women home.
I pick the photo up and it's a picture of a beautiful blonde haired woman in her early forties with a man in a suit who looked like he was in his middle forties. I was guessing they were Max's parents. I was surprised. For a bachelor having a picture of his parents at his place.
Maybe Max wasn't so bad after all...
I couldn't help but think about the other side to him. The side that not many people have seen.
I almost drop the photo when I hear a loud bang coming from the kitchen and Max
cursing.
"Shit." I mutter, slowly putting the photo down and rushing towards the kitchen, I try my best not to laugh as I see Max covered in flour. His whole face in white flour. He looks so funny that I can't help but giggle.
"What happened Max?".
"The stupid flour fell on me." He snapped. Waving his hands in the air causing puffs of flour.
"What were you trying to make Max?". I asked. "Cake?, What ever happened to the starters and main course?". I pondered innocently.
"I don't know how to cook." He muttered.
"Huh?". I decided to tease him.
"I don't know how to cook." He said a little louder. It was so cute seeing an angry Max.
"Oh really?" I mused. "Too bad." I shrugged.
"You think this is funny don't you?". He asked.
"Mmm-hmm." I nodded, not expecting Max to charge at me with a handful of flour and lightly throw it on my face.
"Max!". I stagger back in shock. The flour hits my neck and travels down the valley of my breasts and on my strapless black dress.
Why did I choose to wear black out of all the colors? I don't know..
"You ruined my dress!". I gasped. "That was a dolce and gabbana dress.."
He smirked. "Looks like I'm not the only one covered in flour."
I relax. "Oh Max." I step towards him. He watches me as I push lightly against him. "Did I ever tell you how..." I drift, making sure his entire attention is on my face while I pinch the packet of flour lying on the counter. "how...goood..you look...in..." And at the right moment, in one swift motion I push him back and chuck the excess of flour on him. "Flour!".
"Huh!". A shocked Max is totally unprepared for an ambush from me.
The flour smacks him across the face and in no time, he's pinned me against the big fridge, pushing the flour down on me. I could feel the cool powder slip down between my breasts, his hot breath on my neck.
"That was not funny." He tells me.
I laugh a little. "Max it was funny." I insisted. "Seeing you all covered in flour. I bet mommy would want to take a picture too." I teased.
Under the flour covered eyelids, his dark hooded eyes felt like they were looking into my soul. He slowly releases my wrists and almost withdraws.
I hope to god I didn't hit a nerve.
"Max?". I watched him. "What's wrong?".
"Nothing." He said, wiping the flour off his face. "Just look at us." He chuckled. "Acting like school kids."
I chuckled with him. "Yeah." I had never behaved this way with a man before. Never. It surprised me so much that Max and I were like this. That I was seeing a side to him that I believe not many people had been allowed to see.
"Let's get cleaned up." He said, going to the sink and grabbing a clean dish cloth from the drawers. "I would have called my maid to help you out but she'd kinda busy and everyone's doing their own thing.." He babbled. Slightly damping the cloth under the tap.
Shutting the tap, he trotted towards me and began wiping my face clean of the flour. "What a waste of flour huh?". He joked and I just watched him clean me up.
Softly he ran the cloth over my forehead and all I could do was stand still.
"Is that better?". His soft voice fills my ears.
"What?". I asked a little bit dazed.
He's about to say something but I beat him do it. "I think I need to hop in the shower." I said. "I need to clean my dress and-"
"It's okay, I'll let you borrow some of my clothes." He tells me with a smile.
"Okay." I nod.
Half an hour later, he leaves me in his bedroom after he laid out some clothes for me. A nice cream shirt and blue jeans which I hoped would fit me and he leaves me with a belt.
Damn, this was awkward.
I take a shower, I very quick one. I was scared Max might join me, not that I didn't want him to but that..if he did and things between us changed..it could be fatal. I had endless disasters with men when it came to dating. It was a nightmare. And I didn't want things to be over with Max. I was enjoying this strange relationship we had. I didn't know whether to call myself his friend or girl or whatever...
It was confusing.
I leave the shower and dry myself before getting dressed again. My black dress is gone. Max walks in the room just as I was about to button up my shirt and he catches a good glimpse of my bra clad breasts.
"Oh, sorry." Max tells me and turns around, allowing me some privacy. I quickly button myself up.
"Oh hi Max..you can turn around now." I tell him.
He turns around. "Liz, I just sent your black dress to the dry cleaners..is that okay?".
"As long as they don't shrink it." I joked.
"Wow...you look nice." He uttered in a breathless manner.
"In your clothes?". My eyes widened. A guy only said that when he started to like the girl. Well, no guy would actually let a girl wear his clothes if he didn't like them..
But it was kinda his fault for getting my dress dirty...but he could have taken advantage of me...but he didn't. "Yeah. You look very good in my clothes." He folded his arms and nodded.
"Thanks I guess."
"I kinda need your help to make dinner." He admits. "I can't cook to save my life."
I bite my lip. "What do you have in mind for us?".
"Italian?".
My smile spreads. "Okay.".
***********************
After we cooked the dinner together, we laid the table together and I couldn't help but ask for a couple of candles and a lighter. Max didn't mind. As long as we enjoyed our dinner together. It was hard teaching him the basics but fun.
He pours the glasses with some expensive wine. I don't normally drink, but tonight I'd make an exception. We sit in our respective seats and I thank him for handing me the glass of wine. He responds by giving me a cute smirk.
"Well.." He says, picking up his fork and knife. "Bon Appétit."
We tuck in the delicious dishes of linguini and other various types of pasta and cheese. Max licks his lips as he sucks in a spaghetti coated in molten cheese. "Mmmm, this is heaven. Bliss. We make a good team Liz."
I nod my head in response. I'm happy he's enjoying this meal as much as I was. He was right. We did make a good team.
"Liz, I think I should keep you here. You can cook me my meals." He teases.
"Hey!". I threw back playfully. "What ever happened to equality?".
"It's still there." He says. "But not many people recognise it."
"Tease." I pouted.
"Besides, who needs equality when you have money?".
"Jerk." I stick my tongue out at him. "Money can't buy everything." I almost choke on my own words as I realise I was saying this for the first time.
"Can't it?". He takes another mouthful of linguini. "That's a shame." He tells me.
"Why is it?".
"I had a proposition for you."
"And that would be?".
"Do you know Tess?".
I almost stop chewing the food in my mouth. "Yeah." I swallowed. "Why?".
"I need your help to make her fall for me."
