Michael

I'm rushed at the door by a sobbing Isabel, and a chill runs down my spine. What on Earth is going on? Hugging Isabel close, I pat her head and look around. I can't see much because Isabel is just as tall as me and blocking much of my view, but I see Alex looking solemn out of the corner of my eye.

"Isabel, what's wrong?" I ask at a near whisper, not wanting to hear her answer. She doesn't cry over much. It has to be bad.

Michael strokes my head and tries to calm me down...I let the sobs subside and only when my body is once again still and not being wracked by sobs do I pull away and look at his face.

"Remus...Remus is dead." I state quietly

"Remus...Remus is dead." Isabel says, and as I look at her tear stained face I shake my head in disbelief.

"No he isn't. I just saw him last night." I say in defiance, shutting my eyes for a moment.

Remus? I say in my mind, trying to find his connection.

"He's not-" I open my eyes and see Remus on the couch behind Isabel, laying deathly still.

"No."

Isabel/Calypso

As if not hearing me he insists that he saw Remus yesterday...I am about to tell him that he's wrong when his gaze travels further in to the room and lands,no doubt,on Remus's still form.

I continue to wtch Michael's eyes,while he looks past me at his best freind now lying lifeless on the sofa.

"I'm sorry Micahel." I say as I let go of him

"Remus...?" I say quietly to the air as I walk to the sofa.

"I'm sorry Michael," Isabel says, sounding far away, but I ignore her.

I place a hand on his arm and pull it away quickly, feeling how cold it is.

"Isabel..." I say in shock, staring at Remus's cold, lifeless body. I feel as though I'm having an out of body experience, as though I can see myself staring at Remus.

"Don't worry, I can fix him," I tell her, sounding too calm. Placing my hand on his chest, I try hard to focus.

"I healed him before, remember?" I say in the same dull voice, purposely not looking at her face.

As if ignoring the reality of the situation he walks towards Remus purposefully and kneels down next to him in order to try and heal him.

"Michael...it's not going to work." I say in a louder tone of voice than one which I had been using

But he ignores me and places his hand on Remus's chest,trying hard to concntrate and bring him back to life.

I watch...helplessly.What can I do to ease the pain?I know Michael is suffering just as much as me...they were best friends who had just found each other again.

Ignoring Isabel again, I stand up and start to pace the room. I know it isn't going to work. I'm not stupid.

"When?" I say quietly, stopping once I can lean against a wall. I shut my eyes again, hoping that if I open them none of this would have happened.

Who would kill Remus? And why? He hasn't done anything. If anyone should be dead, it should be me.

"I don't know" I reply wringing my hands "We found him outside the door...barely alive.He just said a few things."

"What did he say?" I ask Isabel, surprised at how calm my voice still is. My eyes are still shut, and I don't bother to open them.

"Did he say who did it?"

I look at Michael and see the hurt and fury in his eyes...Sebastian is going to rue the day he crossed our paths.

"He said Sebastian took him by surprise." I say with venom
