Author’s Note:
The year is 2014. Post “Destiny’s still calling” Antar is no longer ruled by Max. Instead, Antar has embraced Democracy. Unfortunately the “ EOTW” still occurs thus Max and Liz realize that its not their relationship that causes it, but rather a pact made between Tess, Lonnie and Rath back when we believed Tess had mysteriously, killed Lonnie and Rath. Max and Liz had three children, Maria-Alora (10 years old) Gabriel (8 years old) Jonathan (5 years old) Alex and Isabel married and have a set of blonde haired twin girls (8 years old) Cassandra and Alexandra. Kyle and Ava are currently on Antar expecting their first.

Maria-Alora stood in front of a full length mirror frowning. Her mostly antarian body was already starting to blossom into an adult’s, but that was not the cause of her foul mood. Nor was the fact that, she was moving to earth, for the very first time, in her life.
No, the very source of her distress was incased in a glass display in the dark corner of her room. It was her first husk, and age appropriate for a ten year-old earthling. Maria-Alora held back the tears that threatened to spill down her cheeks. The husk would completely hide her newly acquired curves. It was bad enough to be a late bloomer on Antar, but to be a slow poke developing human, was adding insult to injury. She gave one last glance at herself. She really couldn’t complain too much, at least she still got to have the same luxurious black hair and dark eyes her mother’s DNA bestowed upon even her antarian form. She took a deep breath, took the husk from its encasement and stepped into the husk. Immediately the husk fitted to her form, flattening out any inappropriate curves.
When she stepped back in front of the mirror, she let out a small sob.
Liz standing outside her daughter’s bedroom door, her ear pressed to the door. “How are things coming along?” Max voice whispered suddenly from Liz’s side. Liz was startled, but recovered quickly. Liz sighed sadly. “As well as can be expected. I think I heard her crying.” “Really?” Max asked feeling a slight pang of guilt. She nodded. Max’s shoulders slumped. After twelve years of marriage, Liz recognized the look appearing on her husbands face. He was about to cave in. “No Max, she can’t! What ten year old earthlings do you know look like they are practically seventeen? There is no way! Besides, it took forever to grow that husk.” Liz had that stubborn look on her face, and when she had that look, there was no changing her mind. That’s when Max felt the butterflies. After all these years he still got them. There was just something about Liz when she got mad she looked so…alluring and almost dangerous. Max bit his bottom lip, he had let his thoughts stray to far, and his body began to respond. Max smirked down at Liz. When Liz noticed the smoky look in Max’s eyes, her protesting died in her throat. “What?” She asked curiously, but it was no use playing stupid because, she was already grinning. Max was still biting his bottom lip, when he closed the little space between them. “UGH! Gawd! Are trying to permanently blind me!” Maria-Alora shrieked, covering her eyes with one hand and waving the other in front of her. Max and Liz rolled their eyes and laughed quietly.
When Maria-Alora was in their full view, Max was the first to comment on her husk.
“ The husk doesn’t look bad at all.” She crossed her arm angrily. “ I look like a child!” Max raised an eyebrow. “On earth, a ten year old is a child.” Maria-Alora let out an annoyed hiss “I’m only half human. Why do I have to look like one? I thought you said earth has finally excepted the idea of extra terrestrials.” Max was laughing inwardly, if he hadn’t known better he would have sworn Maria-Alora was Michael’s offspring instead his and Liz’s. She was equally determined and stubborn as his former second-in-command. “Yes, earth has excepted the idea, but that doesn’t mean its safe to expose ourselves just yet.” She was about to throw another protest when a young boy comes storming down the hall, his face dark and dangerous with anger. Any Antarian or hybrid could feel the energy of his anger building up around him.
Gabriel was a spitting image of his father, even down to the facial expressions. When he was angry he always gave the same dark and dangerous look his father gave. “ Mom, Dad! Jonathan broke my classic train model again!” the young boy complained. Gabriel’s younger brother Jonathan comes running down the hall. “It was an accident!” the younger boy replied breathlessly as he caught up with his family.
Noticing that the attention was no longer on her Maria-Alora throws her hands up in defeat “Why do I even bother?” Max and Liz looked at each other and rolled their eyes. Once again, any romance they were intending to have was going to have to be put on hold. “You take care of Miss Alora, I’ll take care of the boys” Max suggested. Liz threw him a curious look. “Miss Alora?” Max smirked “Yeah, she wants to be called Alora from now on. Says it sounds cool” Liz’s face went pale “Gawd! Max it’s happening!” Liz said mimicking her daughter way of speaking. Max frowned “What?” Liz leaned in close “Our daughter is turning into a teenager!” They both laughed again. “Lets get this show on the road.” Max replied kissing Liz on the fore head.
Moments later the entire Evans family was waiting at the glowing portal. “Everyone accounted for?” Liz smiled and nodded. “Okay then,” Max replied let’s go.” Liz looked at Alora and gave her hand a squeeze. The two of them stepped into the portal together. Soon after, Max and the boys followed. Moments later, they were in the granolith cell in the pod chamber. The boys looked around with no emotion, but Alora looked around amazed. It was her very first time seeing the infamous granolith. And only a few feet away, was the pods her father, uncle Michael and Aunt Isabel was born from. All resentment of being a ten year old was forgotten.
“Wait here,” he ordered to Liz. “ I’ll check to see if it’s safe.” It was the same routine.
Max always checked to make sure there was no activity going on around the pod chamber. If they came out of the pod chamber at the wrong time, it would bring unwanted attention to the area.
Max was thinking of his daughter’s personality as he walked past the pod holder and their remains. He looked up as he approached the chamber door, and when he did he felt his blood run cold. There, leaning against the wall stood a mortally wounded Kal Langley.
