Roswell Reboot

Given the popularity of reboots and remakes these days (e.g. James Bond, Star Trek) do you think a reboot that follows the books more closely would be a better option for a Roswell Movie?
Don't get me wrong I liked the series, but things went down hill for me with the second season. I know we all wanted to see the series resolve alot of things, but that's why we write fanfiction. Not to mention after almost ten years (damn has it really been that long?) all the original actors are much older and have moved on to bigger and better things, well some of them at least.
Now given the success of other movie series based on teen books such as Harry Potter and Twilight I think it could work.
Who would you cast as the characters this time around?
