Re: How was your day/week/weekend?

I've just had a pretty crazy (and exciting) couple of days - I spent a couple of days staying at an RAF (Royal Air Force) base with work (I'm going to be forecasting the weather for the military) and I got to experience a flight simulator, see a Typhoon fighter jet up close (the same type of jet tha...

Re: Pulling fanfics from the internet - your opinions?

I think the Twilight fandom really got to you  Yeah, I think it did! So, much so, in fact that I really think I need to get out of there. I'm only reading about 10 Twilight fics at the moment (on FF.net), and as I'm not really a big fan of the fandom or the books in general (I just went there ...

Re: Pulling fanfics from the internet - your opinions?

Is it a case of just getting too big for their britches? Someone else mentioned (can't remember who) the natural evolution of fandoms. Rosdom certainly went through some crazy times the first few years, and I wonder if publishing had been as easy then as it is now with self-publishing if we would h...

Re: Pulling fanfics from the internet - your opinions?

But they DO have a right over the storyline, I guess. Definitely a gray area when it comes to the law and there are definitely emphatic opinions on both sides of the issue. What's bugging me about the publishing thing right now is that there are stories being 'pulled for publishing' almost every da...

Re: The Official "Complain About Life" Thread

I'm official in my late 20's...does this mean I'm going to start getting greys or does that happen in your late 30's? I've only got 2 years and 3 months until I'm 30 (I'm actually scared to type it!), but thankfully there are no grey hairs yet... I'm hoping it'll be at least another 5 years or so b...

Re: Pulling fanfics from the internet - your opinions?

That entire fanfic fandom is insane... I've been trying to ignore the craziness for the last few months (mostly because RL has been too busy to worry about it), but I just had to post today. I mentioned about this in the first post: about 15 months ago one of the massive fics in the Twilight fandom...

Re: The Official "Life is Good" Thread

I hope so too... although I think Djokovic is going to be hard to beat. I really hope Murray can win though... it would be amazing to finally have a male British Grand Slam winner - it's kind of pitiful that we invented the sport, yet we never seem to do very well at it! Oh God...I am ashamed. I re...

Re: The Official "Life is Good" Thread

Yeah, definitely... it just bugs me a bit that Federer never really shows emotion, like winning is a breeze and he never has to struggle (even when he's having a bad day, it barely shows on his face), so it make you want to root for the player who you know really wants to win! Or he shows emotion o...
