"Yes my lady..." I say as I put my arm around her waist carefully, in a way that wasn't too improper. I smile at Liz and say, "Will you be alright Princess?" I ask, hoping she would request my presence or come with us or something.

I sigh. "I'm not going to leave you in the dark, Lonnie, because it's for your protection that you know what's going on. It seems we have a traitor in our midst, someone planning an uprising to take over the throne and even take you as part of the package. The worst part about this is the fact that it's someone on the council."
I wince a little at a particularly sharp piece of glass in my hand and the sharp pain in my head. I wish I had been a little more careful with that glass.

I smile at Max's concern. "Of course, Michael will be here." I don't want to seem eager that he return and I really don't have a reason to come with them, unless..."Maria, will you need help changing?" I ask her. Why is it that suddenly I don't want to be out of the presence of this guard? What spell has he put on me?
~MARIA~
I shake my head, pretending not to notice exactly why Liz wants to come with us. "Nah, I'll be fine, thanks, Lizzie. I'll just get my maid to help me. Stay and enjoy your tea and getting to know more about Antar. I'll send Max back out to you as soon as I'm settled and you can talk to him since Michael isn't a conversationalist." I wink at Max to let him know that I was pretty sure he would want to be back in Liz's presence. I still haven't gotten any kind of reaction from Michael since my outburst. Glancing at him now, I can't tell what he's thinking and I sigh internally. Oh well, so much for making friends with him.
"Come on, Max. Let's go," I tell him.

"I'm sorry to have to tell you that it is Lord Moxon, my love. I've been told that he has quite fallen in love with you. I know this news is upsetting and I'm hoping that it is just what you called it, a rumor but I have to investigate it. Your safety as well as that of the entire kingdom's is at stake." I gently carress her face, hoping she will forgive me for what I think I'm going to have to do. "I cannot fault him for falling for the most beautiful and wonderful woman on all of Tagorra but I cannot risk my throne or your life, Vilandra."
I wait to see her reaction to this news and hope that she will support me in everything I will have to do while these charges are investigated thoroughly.

I stand up, somewhat angry at her words, but not surprised that she is standing up for Moxon. "Something rash? You don't want me to do something rash? Vilandra, if I had wanted to do something rash, I would have had him taken to the keeps below and executed right away!" I take a deep breath to calm down a little. "Where I got my information is of no consequence. I know that you consider him a friend, Lonnie, but I cannot...no I will not let this simply slide. I cannot appear weak and too trusting. I'm not going to do anything other than have this investigated for now but until I have proof either way, I think it a good idea that you limit where you go in the palace and not leave the palace at all until this is resolved."
Uh oh. I didn't mean for that to come out that way and I know she will be unhappy with my decision but I'm not going to waiver on this. It is my duty as her husband and king to protect her and to investigate any threats to her and my throne.

I didn't mean you couldn't leave the palace at all as long as you have an escort and ride in the closed carriages. I am asking you to give me some time to look into this and keep you safe in the process. You know I love you and if anyone took you, it would be fastest way to get my attention. I'm trying to be patient with you because I know this is difficult and not fair, but really, must you act like a child? I'm doing the best I know how!"
I'm trying very hard not to lose my temper but she's pushing and with the concerns of this parasite and my headaches and the cuts in my hand as well as this newest possible threat, my head is spinning.
