Chapter 1
Saturday Morning September 4, 2004
The Bellagio Resort

She woke with nausea and a pounding headache. Why did she drink so much last night? She didn’t want to admit it, but her boyfriend was not the marrying type. He wasn’t being romantic when he suggested that the group celebrate her 21st birthday in Las Vegas. He just wanted an excuse to come to Vegas and party. She stumbled out of bed to make to the bathroom. She needed to vomit now. She just made it to the toilet and emptied the contents of her stomach.

He awoke to the sound of vomiting. What was going on? His own head was pounding. He should have listened to his protectors and avoided all alcohol. The one woman that was made for him had rejected him. He wasn’t in love with her, but he was tired of being alone. He didn’t want to spend the rest of his life alone not knowing the joy of sharing his life with someone. She wanted to find herself before she agreed to his proposal. Did she change her mind and return to him? He quickly used his powers to cure his hangover. He had to see if she returned to him.

Once he made it to the bathroom, he knew it wasn’t his girlfriend. She was a vision. Her beautiful chocolate hair was draped around her face. He quickly went to her and pulled her hair from around her face so it would not be in the way. It felt like silk strands to his fingers. He used his powers to remove her nausea by placing his hand on her back. He was immediately assaulted with what they did the previous night. He then placed his hands on the base of her neck to take care of her headache.

When he made the connection, she had flashes of what they did the previous evening. She then looked down at her left hand and saw the most exquisite engagement ring and wedding band. They looked so much like her grandmother’s rings.

“Good morning, sweetheart. Are you feeling better now?”

“Good morning. Who are you?” She asked him.

“Max Evans, your husband.”

“I guess that makes me Liz Parker Evans your wife.”

Chapter 2

Chapter Two
One month prior
Roswell, New Mexico Crashdown Café

After working the breakfast shift with her best friends, Maria DeLuca and Alex Whitman, Liz Parker and her friends were going to meet her current boyfriend for a late lunch. Liz and Kyle Valenti dated while they attended West Roswell High School their junior and senior year. Liz had always been honest with Kyle her schooling was priority number one. He would always come second. She needed a scholarship to Harvard University to follow her dreams of being a molecular biologist. She was also clear she believed that sex should be between a married couple. She wanted her wedding night to be special.

Liz did get the scholarship to Harvard that she worked hard for. Kyle got a baseball scholarship to Texas Christian University (TCU). Liz was fortunate that her two best friends would be able to join her in the Boston area. Maria was admitted to Berklee School of Music and Alex was accepted at MIT to major in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Liz and Kyle agreed that is wasn’t fair to either one of them to try a long-distance relationship. So, they agreed to see other people after their high school graduation.

Although Liz had plenty of offers for dates while at Harvard, she turned them down. Her next goal was to get into the graduate program and work on her doctorate degree. She knew she would need to be at the top of her class to make that happen. At least once a month her Maria and Alex would all get together face to face. Between their classes, homework, studying and part-time jobs and anymore would have been impossible.

Kyle’s life took a turn for the worse. He injured his pitching arm. He had surgery but it wasn’t successful. He hated being surrounded by all his teammates that still had a shot of their dreams of playing major league baseball. He made the decision to transfer to Boston University where he would have a few friends and his new stepsister, Maria. Maria’s mother the town hippy had married Kyle’s father the county sheriff after the kids graduated high school. The two now shared a baby brother and there was another sibling on the way. With Kyle now in Boston, he convinced Liz they should try dating again.

“How is my favorite girl, stepsister and best friend doing today? See any aliens? Dad said that Milton called into the station again last night with another siting.”

“Milton is a nut. We all know that aliens aren’t real.” Liz told her boyfriend.

“Liz, you dress as an alien waitress. Your father runs an alien themed restaurant.” Kyle told his girlfriend.

“Kyle, my dad is just a businessman. He doesn’t believe in aliens. He does like an alien siting though because it increases tourists to the area. And the tourists are hungry and must eat somewhere. And as far as the alien waitress uniform, let’s face it some men love the short skirt of the uniform. The tips pay for the textbooks in the fall.”

“I can’t believe we have to return to school a few days. I was enjoying my summer even if I had to work here with all the crazy tourists. Liz is right they some of the guys give great tips.” Maria told her stepbrother.

“Don’t you want to get back to Berklee, so you can see Billy?” Kyle teased his stepsister.

“I think Billy was disappointed I didn’t move in with him and spend our summer together working on our music. You know mom would have blown a gasket. She would have cut me off financially if I did that. Changing the subject, aren’t you excited about seeing Leanna again Alex?”

“I don’t know. I think I’m more in love with her than she is with me. I don’t think she is ready for a commitment.”

“Now for the brilliant idea that I came up with. No comments from you, future engineer, or you, future scientist. I can still have great ideas even if I’m not going to save the world with my scientific discoveries. Miss Parker here is going to celebrate her 21st birthday in one month. Luck for her it falls over Labor Day weekend this year. I think we should do it right. We should go to Vegas. I already checked we can get a cheap flight out of Logan direct to Vegas on one of the no thrills airlines for $100 each with one checked bag and one carry-on. Alex, does your Uncle still work for one of the casinos doing their IT work?”

“Yes, he does. He can most likely get us a great deal on two rooms. One for the girls and on for us.”

“Wow, this is a great idea brother dear. I can finally see Circ de Sol in person. Maybe I can audition for a singing gig. It’s going to be so much fun.”

“I have to say Kyle; this is one of your better ideas. I would love to try my hand at some blackjack. I would have to avoid the hotels my Uncle Steve works for so there is no conflict. I can call my Uncle and make arrangements for hotel rooms.”

“I don’t know about this. It is just at the start of the semester. This is my junior year and my classes are only going to get harder.”

“Liz, live a little. I think it is an excellent idea. You don’t have any classes on Friday. Just ask not to be scheduled to work that weekend. You only turn 21 once. Besides my dear brother here can take you to a nice restaurant and dancing one night.”

<Meanwhile in Las Vegas>

Another group of friends were meeting for lunch. It was the first time the group had the opportunity to meet in person for the last month. Twenty-five-year-old, Max Evans had been busy most of the summer prepping for the bar exam. He graduated top of his class from Stanford Law School. He spent his summers working at the same firm as his parents, Philip and Diane Evans. They were partners in the largest firm in Nevada, Patterson Johnson. Both his parents were partners in the firm. His father was a well-respected corporate contracts attorney, while his mother was known for her financial work. His mother also served on the Las Vegas City Council. There was talk of her running for mayor, but she didn’t want to give up her law practice to accomplish that task. The last two years he has been dating Tess Harding exclusively. Max had dated before Tess, but he always felt trapped by his secret. He wanted to be honest with the women he dated but how could he tell anyone about his history.

Tess Harding was returning from a vacation with her parents, Ed and Sheila Harding. Her parents were independently wealthy. She didn’t have to work for anything. With her Art History degree, she volunteered at a local museum. She went to Stanford and was a cheerleader. Although very beautiful, she never dated anyone other than Max.

Max’s twin sister, Isabel, went to Stanford with them. She majored in business. Currently she was hard at work for next week’s charity ball she was coordinating for the hospital’s pediatrics wing. Isabel recently completed her MBA. She was working at the hospital as one of the lower level administrators but there was talk of her moving over to run the charity foundation. Her parents at first were disappointed that she didn’t go to law school with her brother Max and follow in the family tradition. Their disappointment was soon replaced with pride for her accomplishments at the hospital. Like Max, she dated but never got serious.

Max’s best friend, Michael Guerin, had just returned to the Las Vegas area to work for his father’s security firm. Michael broke from the group and attended college at Virginia Military Institute, VMI. He could have earned an appointment to a service academy but couldn’t risk the medical exams that would be required. It disappointed his father, but it was understandable why he could not start a career in the military.

“Hey, Maxwell how’s it going.” Michael greeted his friend.

“It’s going well. Isabel and Tess should be here shortly. How is the security work?”

“We are revamping the system over at the Bellagio next month. I’m currently designing the new system. You would be surprised by the number of people that try to scam the casinos. So, how do you think you did on your bar exam.”

“Unless I totally messed up the last section, I will pass. It is just the waiting that is unbearable.”

“Did you make a decision about proposing to Tess yet?”

“I’m going to after I get my results. I’m tired of waiting around for everything. We don’t know if we will ever return. I want the American Dream. You know wife, kids, house, and a dog.”

“Do you love her are you just buying into the crap that Nasado is shoving down our throats. You and Isabel were adamant that you wouldn’t be following your density. How many girls did you date in high school?”

“I dated enough to know that I will never find the perfect woman for me. Tess is as close as I’m going to get. I do love her Michael.”

“Do you really love her, or do you love her like I love Isabel, in a sisterly way?”

“I guess it is a little more than what you and Isabel have but it will have to do since I can never be completely honest with a human.”

“I know society expects us to pair up with someone. I spent four years in a military school. I had plenty of pressure to find a woman. Some of my classmates questioned my sexuality since I didn’t have a steady girlfriend or take up the offers that I got from the sorority girls from the William and Mary campus. I kept a photo of Isabel and I together so people would think she was my girlfriend. Maxwell, you really need to think about it. This is for the rest of your life.”

“I know and I have thought about it. I’m ready to do this.”

Max and Michael’s uncomfortable conversion came to an end when Isabel and Tess arrived at the table.

“I’m glad you could make it. How is the benefit coming along Isabel?” Max asked his sister.

“I’m so glad that Tess is helping me out. I would be lost without her. You have a great one Max. You don’t want to let her get away.” Isabel teased her brother.

“Isabel, Max and I are not really thinking about that yet. We are just enjoying each other’s company. I’m not ready for talk about marriage or family. Max and I are happy with what we have.”

With this comment, Michael just set back. He thought that Max may be ready to start his life, but it didn’t seem like Tess was. Ed and Sheila Harding had sheltered Tess most of her life. They didn’t want her to date since everyone in town knew the family had money. Tess had been scared to date any human. She eagerly agreed to date Max once he asked her out.

“How is the security business treating you Michael. It seems like it has been weeks since Hank let you have some social time.” Tess asked him.

“It’s great. I have another big job coming up next month. It is in the final design stages now. Are you still volunteering at the museum?”

“Yes, it’s great I get to put my Art History degrees to work. I don’t think I would like a full-time job though. If I was working full time, I wouldn’t be able to help Isabel as much as I have been. I have always been meant to be a queen. I’m glad our protectors found me parents that understood that.”

“Did you get your tux, Michael? I’m depending on you being my escort. It wouldn’t look right for the gala organizer to go stag.”

“Isabel, I have I ever stood you up on when we have lived in the same town. I can’t help it that my flight was delayed to due weather for your sorority formal.”

“Hi, my name is Beth and I will be your server today. Today’s special is the shrimp salad with a light citrus dressing.”

“I take the shrimp salad with dressing on the side along with an ice water with lemon.” Isabel told the server.

“I will have the same.” Tess informed her.

“I will do the burger and fries with a coke.” Michael told the server.

“I will do the burger and fries along with a cherry coke.” Max requested.

“I will get this order in and will be back with your drinks.” Beth informed the friends.

“So, after the Isabel’s gala, I’m going with mom and dad to the Aruba for a month. I’m sorry I will not be here when you find out about the bar exam, Max. We can celebrate when I get back.”

“That is fine Tess. We will have the perfect evening when you get back.” Max told her.

He couldn’t help but think maybe Michael was right. He might be ready for the American Dream, but Tess may not be ready. She loved the jet-setting lifestyle that her parents offered her. He enjoyed his previous summers working at the same law firm as his parents. He found fulfillment in working. Yes, he was an alien king, but would he ever return to his home world. If that never happened, he wanted to make the best life possible on earth. Would she settle for being a wife and someday a mother?

The group of four enjoyed their meal and Isabel talked about her charity gala coming up on the following weekend.

So very glad you posted this story. Wow it seem Liz is going to have a hell of a birthday in Vegas. It seems they are all happy they will be spending Liz's birthday together. Poor Max he is ready to start his life while it seems Tess isn't ready to start her life yet. Guess Max might be changing his mind about asking Tess to marry him. Love how both of the groups are so close like family. Can't wait for Max and Liz to meet and to find out what will happen between them.

Chapter Three
Thursday September 2

<Las Vegas>
Max made his way to the jewelry store his father had used over the years. Philip Evans was always surprising his wife with jewelry over the years. Sometimes the gifts were for special occasions like the heart locket he purchased when they adopted Max and Isabel. Most of the time he would just see something he knew that Diane would like, and he would pick it up. They were as much in love now as they were when they first started dating in college. They had very little money when they decided to marry before starting law school. They struggled financially until they got out of law school and started working at the largest firm in the state of Nevada. Both quickly made partner at the firm. It was then they found out they couldn’t have children. They jumped at the chance to adopt Max and Isabel. They didn’t let their careers keep them from spending time with the kids or each other. He longed to have a relationship like his parents.

He had picked out the ring last week. The resizing was complete. He had reservations at the restaurant for 6:00 PM. Tess returned to Vegas last night. He was giving her time to rest from her latest vacation with her parents. Everything was ready. Tomorrow night’s dinner would be the biggest day of his life. He knew he was making the right decision, despite Michael’s reservations. How could this be a mistake? He did love her. He enjoyed her company. She was one of his best friends. There hadn’t been a human that he dated that he even wanted to tell the truth about himself. Him and Tess had a special bond. They were the same, alien human hybrids. Tess was made for him. They had been married in their past lives. This had to be the right decision.

<Boston>
Logan Airport

“Boarding for all rows for Spirit Airlines Flight 1001 non-stop to Las Vegas is now beginning. Please have your boarding pass and identification ready for the gate agent.” The gate agent announced.

“I guess we are really going to Vegas.” Liz said to her friends.

“Yes, we are. I can’t wait to get there. I can’t wait to see Circ de Sol. By the time we arrive in Las Vegas you officially will be 21 and legal in every state in the union. What are you planning to do first, slot machines or a glass of champagne?”

“I just need to get through the flight first Maria. You know I hate flying. I hate losing all control. It is even worse now with the increased security. I would rather drive when possible. It not just that. I have a feeling something is going to happen. I don’t know if it is good or bad.”

“I will hold your hand the entire flight if you want me to. It’s going to be fine Liz. You have your ear plugs and eye shade you can try to get some sleep on the flight.”

“Blackjack tables here I come. I don’t think they are ready for Mr. Alexander Charles Whitman.”

“You do know that counting cards is illegal don’t you.”

“Yes, I’m aware of that Kyle. That is why I going to be going from casino to casino. I’m not going to stay any casino more than three hands.”

“Looks like it’s our turn to board.”

The group took their seats. Alex and Kyle request emergency row seating so they would have extra leg room. Liz and Maria were near the back and the lavatory. Liz didn’t like staying in line for the restroom. She always liked to remain in her seat and buckled. As kid on her first flight to Disneyland she experienced severe turbulence. She had never liked to flight since that experience. They patiently listen to the flight safety instructions.

“So, Kyle what do you have planned for Liz’s special birthday?”

“Well, I thought we could have a nice dinner at the Bellagio. I will get us a separate room for the night at Circus-Circus if I can change her mind about sex before marriage. We are adults in a committed relationship. I don’t see what the big deal is.”

“I don’t think Liz will budge unless you are prepared to go to the Elvis Chapel or have an engagement ring. I don’t think she will believe you are that committed.”

“We are not ready for that kind of commitment. It is not like we are ready to have a kid and get a house. I do love her but I’m just not ready.”

“I think you are making a big mistake. Just because Liz is officially 21, I don’t think that is going to change her mind about pre-marital sex. You can’t say I didn’t warn you.”

“I appreciate your concern Alex. I think I know my girlfriend better than you. We have had some very heavy make out sessions that I don’t know how she kept her wits. I’m thinking a little champagne to celebrate her big day may loosen Perfect Miss Parker up a bit.”

“Kyle, you can’t be serious. She would hate forever if you took advantage of her like that.”

“Alex, I’m not a pig. I would never do anything to Liz without her consent. It would have to be a mutual decision whatever we do.”

“Okay, I may be your best friend, but I would never let you take advantage of Liz like that. She and Maria were my first friends when I moved to Roswell. It wasn’t until we had to work on the project in Mr. Handley’s class, we became friends.”

“We should try to sleep. Since you plan on amassing a fortune in Vegas.”

“Yes, I will need my rest for Operation Blackjack.”

Meanwhile in the back of the plane’s cabin

“Liz are you okay. I know you hate to fly. You told me all about the trip to Disneyland. Are you sure nothing else is going on?”

“I don’t know. I know something is going to happen. Has Kyle said anything about proposing on my birthday to you? Did he talk to my dad and get my grandmother’s engagement and wedding rings?”

“As far as I know, he has not. You look relieved.”

“I am. I just been thinking that Kyle and I are not ready for that. Don’t get me wrong. I love spending time with him. He makes me laugh. He is not as serious as some of the guys that asked me out my Freshman year. I do love for him, but I don’t think I love him like a woman should love her husband. I think there is someone else out there in this big world. I think I would be settling if I ended up married to Kyle.”

“I can understand everything you’re saying Liz. That is the reason Billy I slowed things down. He wanted to live together. I wasn’t ready. I didn’t want to take a chance and get pregnant. I can’t risk that I’m as fertile as my mom. Who would ever believe that Mom and Jim are having another child together, at her age? I do love my little brother, Ryan, and I will love the new baby as well.”

“Your mom is not that old. She had you at 17. Some women just begin having families at 40. Ryan is the cutest boy ever. He is going to be a heart breaker in a few years with those blue eyes he got from Jim. I would love to continue to chat but the 8:00 am organic chemistry lab is catching up to me.”

“Get some sleep Liz. A great adventure awaits us in Las Vegas.”

Chapter 4

<Stratosphere Hotel>
It was a tired Roswell group that arrived at the front desk to check at hotel close to 1:00 am local time. They had to wait for luggage and a cab to the hotel. They agreed they would get a few hours of sleep and meet for breakfast at 9:00 am. This would give them plenty of time to do some site seeing in the area. Liz and Maria had a room with a king size bed. They had shared Liz’s full-size bed many times, so it was no issue. Kyle and Alex would be sharing a room with two full-size beds.

“Congratulations, Liz you are now officially 21 years old. How do you feel?”

“Tired, I didn’t sleep well on the airplane. I had strange dreams that I can’t remember. Night Maria, I need some sleep if we are going to celebrate this birthday later today.”

“Good night Birthday Girl.”

Liz drifted off to sleep. The dreams continued but she was able to get some rest.

Liz was up first at 8:00 am and hit the shower. Maria had never been a morning person. This is how they always managed sharing a bathroom during sleep overs. Liz still couldn’t understand her dreams, but she could remember her last piece of advice that Grandma Claudia gave her “follow your heart”. She knew after the trip was over, she had to tell Kyle they could only see each other as friends. Kyle would hopefully always be a friend, but she did not see him as a husband. He wasn’t the love of her live. She did know that.

<Harding Mansion>

Tess also had a difficult night of sleep. She had done a lot of thinking about her and Max’s relationship. Max was the only boy or man she ever dated. How was she to know if was the one for her? He treated her with the up most of respect. He always valued her opinion. He saw more in her that her surface beauty. She was made for him, but they were different people now. He wasn’t raised as a prince. She wasn’t raised as a princess, but some would argue that her parents treated her as one.

She didn’t believe in the all the destiny crap that Nasado had shared with the four of them. She knew that Isabel and Michael thought of themselves as brother and sister. Neither had any romantic thoughts of the other. She knew that Max always thought of her as a sister when they were teenagers. She was shocked when he asked out on their first date. Until they started dating, she didn’t think his feelings for her were romantic. She still didn’t think he had romantic feelings for her after dating for the last two years. They were both considered twenty-five by earth standards although they had only been out of their pods for 21 years. She knew that Max was restless to get on with his life. Unlike her he had tried to date humans.

Their protectors had been training them for years to return to Antar and reclaim Max’s throne. They didn’t know if they would ever return. Their ship was badly damaged in the crash the US government had taken the ship to Area 51. There was no way to communicate with Antar to see if the planet had survived the war that had killed their predecessors. Their lives were in limbo.

She was dreading tonight’s dinner with Max. She had some things to tell him about their relationship. She only hoped that he would understand her point of view.

<Stratosphere Breakfast Buffet>

Liz and Maria went down the hall to the guys room four rooms away. Maria did the honors of knocking on their door. If she had to be up this early the guys better be ready to get breakfast. She loudly knocked on the door.

“Rise and shine. It’s time to get this birthday celebration underway.” The group hit the breakfast buffet at one of the restaurants in the hotel. Kyle and Alex tried to see who could get the most food on their plates.

“You boys do know that it is a buffet. You can go back and get a second or third plate if you would like,” Maria told the guys.

“What’s the fun it that. I bet Kyle I could load my plate higher than his without anything falling off before reaching the table. And I won. He lost a piece of sausage over by the juice bar.”

“If this place had patties instead of links, I would have won.”

“Kyle, this was your plan. Where are we going to first? There is a bus we can take bigger casinos. I think we should go Treasure Island and watch the pirate ship battle. Then we can see the foundations at the Bellagio. There is a chocolate shop inside the Bellagio I’m sure you girls would love.”

“I want to go to Hershey World and the M&M place. I already have us discounted tickets for tomorrow night to Circ De Sol. We can ride some of the roller coasters at New York New York before lunch. We also must ride the roller coaster on the top of this hotel. We should also see an Elvis impersonator. You haven’t been to Vegas unless you see Elvis. We should stick to the old ones; we might see the real Elvis. I still believe he faked his own death to get out of his life.” Maria excitedly told the group.

“Maria, you need to breathe. We can do all of that. We have plenty of time.” Liz tried to calm her friend.

“Okay, but first I present you with your first gift of the day. Your grandmother wanted you to have it to enjoy on our adventure.” Maria gave Liz a box with wrapped in silver paper with a silver bow and small card.

Dear Liz

I hope that you are enjoying your 21st birthday. I’m so proud of the woman you have become Liz. I thought you might like to document your journey to the city. With the enclosed Visa card, get yourself a nice dress to celebrate your birthday. Remember to always follow your heart!

Love Grandma Claudia

Liz found a digital camera, extra memory cards and an extra battery. The camera was already charged and ready to use.

“That’s great Liz. Now you don’t have worry if you brought enough film.” Alex told her.

“Alex, did you have anything to do with this?”

“Yes, your grandmother asked me for some recommendations. I got the camera all charged up. Maria was responsible for the presentation.”

“Okay, everyone please get close together so I can get you all in the shot. Smile and say Vegas, baby.” Liz told the she took the first photo.

The four friends finished their meal and made their way down the strip as the Vegas adventure got underway.

This is a shorter chapter but we have the first meeting of the two groups.

Chapter 5

The four friends made their way down the Vegas strip. They rode the roller coasters at New York, New York. They watched the pirate battle at Treasure Island. They posed for photos in front of the Eiffel Tower and the Bellagio foundations. Liz took tons of photos of the glass chandelier at the Bellagio registration desk. Maria convinced them that they needed to do the gondola ride at the Venetian. More photos were taken at the Venetian. They explored Hershey and M&M world. They had lunch at the Hard Rock Café. At Circus-Circus, Liz and Maria played the slot machines while the guys tried their hand at Blackjack. Liz hit a $500-dollar jackpot on the slot machine and decided to quit while she was ahead. This would almost pay for next semesters books. Maria lost the $30 dollars she played in the slots. Liz and Maria stopped in a dress shop and used Grandma Claudia’s gift card to find Liz a knockout dress. It was a deep purple and fix Liz perfectly. Maria insisted that they stop at Victoria’s Secret to get Liz so new undergarments to go with the new dress. Both Kyle and Alex didn’t have much luck at the Blackjack tables. They decided it was time to head back to the hotel and change for dinner. Liz asked Kyle to take her to the bank so she could deposit her winnings. Maria and Alex headed back to the hotel.

Maria was pushed out of the way by a big body as a Segway scooter nearly ran her over.
“Hey, what was that for. I think I hurt by ankle.” Maria yelled at her savior.

“Don’t thank me. Next time I will let the Segway hit you. I’m sorry you got hurt in the process. You should probably look where you are going. Maybe you should go to the hospital and make sure nothing is broken. Look my friend works in the administration I can help you pay for your visit.”

“Wait a minute buddy. What makes you think I can’t pay for my ER visit?”

“Well you are wearing hippy clothes. If you can’t pay for something new, I thought you might not have health insurance.”

“I have health insurance you jerk. I have you know this hippy outfit you are ragging on came from the little store I work for in Boston. It would be wise for you not to make assumptions about people. I don’t need any help from you. My friend Alex will take me to the ER, thank you very much.”

“I will take care of her from here. Which ER do you recommend Maria go to?”

“Go to Mercy, its where the locals go. It shouldn’t be too busy this time of day. My friend Isabel Evans works in the administration. If you have any issues tell her Michael Guerin told you to come. Here is fifty that should cover the cab fare there and back to your hotel if you are staying on the strip.”

“Thanks Michael, Maria can be a little over dramatic.”

Michael leaves the pair to get to his meeting with his father.

“Come on Maria, there is a cab stand over there. Lean on me while we walk over to the stand.”

“I still can’t believe the nerve of the jerk. He insulted me. He didn’t look like he stepped off the cover of GQ. Why did he think he could insult me like that?”

“Do you want me to call Liz and Kyle?”

“No, I don’t want Liz to spend hours on her birthday while I get checked out at the ER. Just tell her that we will get dinner and her and Kyle can have a romantic dinner by themselves. Besides we are all going to Circ de Sol tomorrow night as a group.”
