It's too bad that there's only one fic dealing with the repercussions of the healing on the Phoenix kids. They could be "Roswell, the next generation".

There's also a lot of fics where Liz has a past life on Antar. Why not having a human character having a past life, but on Earth? no alien related? Oh, it gives me an idea, time to go to a challenge thread.

Hm, interesting.

I think there are a few things covered in the show that aren't explored in fics; such as the whole 'powers are human' thing Nasedo told Michael when they were rescuing Max from the White Room. The relevance to Milton and why he disappeared and was replaced by Brody according to Max 'the UFO centre was his life'. Finally the whole Human Donor thing, that's not really explored in fics. There have been one or two over the years that I've read that do go into that but not really that many stories. It's a shame becuse a lot of these stories could really open up in fics.

I know that I am not a popular writer, but I did do a story about teen pregnancy. It was the first multipart story I ever did. I took the incident about 15 minutes into the pilot where Liz came to Kyle’s house and he asked her to not go to the festival but to stay with him.

I had Liz shot and healed by Max. Then I made Max get scared. He left town followed soon by the rest of his family. With Max not in the picture Liz stayed with Kyle and she got pregnant. Parents forced a marriage on her. She gave up school, dreams and Kyle also gave up any chance for a college athletic scholarship. Kyle became a drunk and Liz became an abused mother. The important part of this story was when her daughter asked if Liz was sorry she had slept with Kyle. Liz said that that had been a mistake but she was not sorry about having the daughter. They had a conversation about making bad choices and how you made the best of them. Yes things ended happily ever after. She married Max and her daughter grew up.

Talking about depression I think “Empty” by Evelyn is one of the best. Here there is an organic cause for the depression. You really feel the pain, especially if you have suffered from depression your self.

There are stories about prostitution and adult movies. I did write one about Liz falling under the white room. She drifted into porno movies and then into prostitution. I was trying to show how easy it was to fall into this. It wasn’t the pretty side of prostitution like “Pretty Woman,” but the down dirty side where she was beat up and she had a pimp. This story was “Liz Come Back.” It even for me had a fairly large following.

I have worked hard to bring other cultures into my stories. With the help of Misha I have written a series where there are several Hispanics involved in leading roles.

I avoided drugs because as a cop I do not feel that you can return from this trip.

As I said I know not too many people are familiar with my writing but I am trying to make each story explore different ideas.

I'm just poping in here because this thread actually gave me an idea for my current fic. Which is basically a CC look into the life of Jennifer aka Leanna. (It will be A/I) there's a link to it in my signature (the one that has my fics) and it's Without You.

So yeah I am taking you guys thoughts on this. It's a very interesting topic. Also you don't really see fanfics where people other than Max/Isabel/Serena and Liz go back into the past. What about Tess or Michael going back? Or even Maria?

Actually... that gives me a slight idea...

Has there ever been stories done that show what actually went down with the Royal Four and Khivar on Antar? You know everything that lead up to their clones being sent to earth?

I mean there's got to be a great story out there showing how Rath was so into his miltary life and Vilondra(sp?) most likely felt all alone....which was why Khivar was able to get to her.

There's so much drama, agnst and pain there that someone has had to write it!

WR had a great story that covered this. He always surprises us with his convoluted reasoning.

Well, there's also the Shapeshifter Series, by Kathy W, that tells in great detail what happens from the moment the Shapeshifters leave Antar and through all their time on Earth. It's not exactly what you want, because this tells the story from their guards perspective, but you do get to see what were the dynamics of the Royal Four, the policitcal conflicts and power struggles. It's brilliantly written :D

Here's one I've never seen. The kids act in a seemingly very poor manner (probably due the alien drama), the parents get upset and act as obstacles to whatever they want to accomplish, and the kids frustratedly vent about what pains their parents are, but the parents are actually portrayed as being reasonable and appropriate in their actions. They are likely wrong, because they don't know the important bits, but the author depicts them as good parents. So that's what I almost never see in fics - obstacle-causing parents as good parents with children who are behaving very suspiciously and telling them nothing. I've never seen one where they continue down their "reasonable punishment" path and don't get told the truth about aliens. That would very consistent with their season 1 depictions. I never saw season 3 and understand the parents got crazier there. But then, so did the kids.

Admittedly I've read almost no Roswell fanfics because I'm a writer and I do not want to inadvertently borrow anyone else's stuff (my brain never knows my sources of knowledge or ideas - where did I read that? Wait was that my idea or did I see that somewhere else? and so on), so anyway I'm wondering if any fics have been written about amnesia and/or Alzheimer's of one of the main characters in Roswell? Like what if Michael got a head injury and didn't know he was an alien? How do you tell someone something like that? Or what if Maria got amnesia, would Michael ever tell her himself all over again about being an alien or would he just leave well enough alone? I use Michael and Maria as my examples because I'm heavily Candy biased but I'd still find this premise interesting no matter which characters were involved. "You should sit down for this. You aren't from around here." I'm just imagining the reactions of all of the royal four/dupes in that situation!

Also, what I really want to read is super cracky fic (because no way would I ever come up with such stuff on my own, so I'd know if an idea like that got borrowed and therefore such fic would be a safe read for me.). The more bizarre and weird and hilarious the better.

One I read in another fandom was about how one of the group dies in a stupid way, feels lonely and so he starts killing off the rest of the group to keep him company and as more join him they all help to off the others until they are all back together again except now they are all dead and a bit annoyed about that. It was written so in character and it made me laugh so much despite that, well, I mean death fic should have made me feel sad but it just didn't - cracky goodness, all the way, lol.
