DISCUSSION FORUM RULES

It has been brought to our attention that this forum is becoming too large to really be efficient. This is mostly caused by duplicate requests, and the myriad threads started for posts that should be in one of the sticky threads at the top of the forum.

To help us maintain control of the forum, please do the following before posting:

1. Check the sticky threads at the top and determine whether or not your question or comment belongs there. Below is a list of the sticky threads, and what belongs in them. Remember, each thread has ‘thread specific’ rules in the first post, so make sure you read them first.

  • Looking for a fic – Any requests for a fic you can’t find, a fic you can’t remember the name of, a fic you read, but can’t remember where, a fic you want the sequel to, or any certain type of fic, such as polar, bad-boy Max, best friends that fall in love, teen preganancy, etc that you are looking for goes into this thread. Readers browse this thread often, and usually, someone can help you out.

  • Beta Request Thread – Writing a new story, need help with an idea you’ve got, just looking for someone to tell you what you’ve done wrong? Post a request for a beta in this thread.

  • The Roscanon Thread – This thread if full of info about the characters, episodes, and the show in general, such as birthdates, marriages, middle names, addresses, timelines, etc. Have some information to add, or want to know if anyone knows something you need, like a height, eye color, dad’s name, etc., then post your question and or your information here. This thread is also helpful to writer’s when they are looking for information for their story.

  • Challenge Thread Information – If you are looking to write a story, and don’t have an idea, you can find one in one of our Challenge Threads. If you have an idea, but don’t want to write the story, and would like to suggest it to someone else, then this is also the place for you. In this thread, you will find Rules for the challenge threads, and Links to each of the individual challenge threads. There are links for Conventional/Cannon Challenges, Alternate Universe Challenges, Unconventional Challenges, and Crossover Challenges threads. Please stop by, read the rules, and feel free to browse, post a new challenge, or accept one you like.

2. If you are looking for a fic, please check the Archive before posting a request. The vast majority of the fics people request can be found here, and there is no reason you can't find it yourself. Plus, you'll have the added bonus of maybe seeing some older fics you had forgotten about and would like to reread. If you don't know the title or the author, or can't find it in the Archive, then go ahead and post your request.

3. If your question or comment does not belong in a sticky thread, please scan the forum to make sure you are not repeating another poster's issue.

What does belong in Fanfic Discussion?

Glad you asked!

Obviously, any and all discussions about fanfiction should be posted here.
As a matter of fact, we love it when you discuss!

Anything that’s not in a sticky, and isn’t listed under Rule number 1, belongs here.

What does not belong in Fanfic Discussion?

Samples or descriptions of fics you plan to write, Plugs for non-Roswell related websites. Please post these in the Shameless Plugging forum.

Discussion about Roswell, the SHOW, and not a Roswell fic. Please post these things in theRoswell General Discussion and News forum.

Discussion or questions about the ACTORS and ACTRESSES, not the show, or the characters they play. These should go in the Cast News and Discussion forum.

Discussion about anything not Roswell related. Check out the Life Outside of RoswellForum

Requests for banners. There is a thread for this in ourMultimedia forum, and the artists are usually very quick to respond there.

Problems and questions about the site. The mods keep a close eye on ourHelpforum, so please place this kind of post there.

Please note that due to the volume of this forum, we will be unable to copy and paste all misplaced posts to the correct thread. If you create a new topic that belongs somewhere else, a moderator will delete it.

Any questions or comments you have, feel free to post them here, or PM myself or any other mod or admin.

Thanks for your cooperation!
I once heard that dust is made up of human skin cells. If that's true, I think there's a naked man under my bed!
