Reaching for the tray, Rath said, “I had Trent makes ya a mushroom pizza just in case ya didn’t like what Iz wanted.”

Rath lifted the lid to reveal two plates with black beans, rice, Habanero cornbread, and thinly sliced meat with garlic and parsley, another plate with four slices of mushroom pizza, two plates with chocolate pie, two mugs of coffee and one large glass of coconut milk. Maria could smell the garlic and said, “That’s testicles.” Picking his fork up, Rath nodded his head yes and said, “You would never have known what the meat is if I hadn’t told you about Criadillas being my favorite dish.”

Setting her glass down, she said, “I can’t eat any more now.” Rath nodded his head in agreement placing the lid back on the tray.
