*MAX*

I tighten my grip on the steering wheel and try to get some control. Part of me wants to just hand Kyle the keys and then walk back to the house and pack up my bags. Just give it all up for a bad idea. But the truth is, those are not my things and I don't want to lose this opportunity for something that isn't my fault.

I take a deep breath and then reach over to pat Tess's hand. Thank goodness she, at least, believes me. And I think Alex. He seems to be helping. I don't know about anyone-else's opinion, except for Michael, who seems almost gleeful, apparently certain that this stuff is mine.

I then step out of the car and close the door. "All right," I say, feeling a little like a TV cop. "I know those condoms were not in the glovebox when I got the car. And I know that I didn't put them in there." I come around the jeep, collecting the magazines as I go, taking the last one from Michael just before grabbing the condoms. My embarrassment is fading as anger starts to set in.

"I don't know where these came from, but they're not mine. I haven't put the top on, so the jeep was open. I don't know when or how it could have happened, but all I can think is that someone-else must have put them in the jeep. Maybe by mistake when we were shopping this afternoon. I don't know. But I don't think someone would put them there on purpose, just to embarrass me."

As soon as I say it, I wonder if maybe that is the reason. I glance at the cameramen for a moment. Could this have been something the producers planned to make the show more interesting? I'll save that question for later, because right now, I'm a bit too angry to discuss it. If they chose to jeopardize my job for ratings - I don't know what I'll do. Maybe I can sue them. Who knows?

I wish I had a plastic bag or something, but the car is too new. I haven't put anything in it yet except some gas and my friends. I shove all of it in the back next to the compartment where the top is. Biting my lip, I unlock that and check to make sure there are no more 'surprises' in there and I'm glad to find only the jeep top.

I lock it up again and look around at the others again. "Since they don't appear to belong to anyone-else here, I'm going to burn all these things in the bonfire when we get to the beach."

nice part, Isabelle :)

Alex

Looks like Max snapped out of his stupor. Not that I can't blame him, I'd probably would shoot myself if that happened to me. Max collects the stuff, still a bit red in the face but he doesn't seem deadly embarrassed anymore, which is surely a good sign.

Would be really weird if someone put that stuff in his car just for fun ... I doubt that even the tv producers would get so far. If that came out, it would be the end of their career at tv, I guess. I take a look at the cameramen who seem to enjoy all the action. Maybe this will get them to forget about our little shop adventure this afternoon.

"Since they don't appear to belong to anyone-else here, I'm going to burn all these things in the bonfire when we get to the beach." Max states calmly and no one argues. It's quite an unusual silence, everyone thinking about what happened, I guess.

After a few moments of *really* uncomfortable silence and everyone just standing around, I realize that it's probably up to me to break the silence.

"Well, then we better head to the beach to get the bonfire started." I say. The others agree more (Max and Liz) or less (Michael) enthusiastically with me.

Stepping past Isabel and Jake, not paying attention to them in the least (and patting myself on the shoulder for that), I notice the cameraman immediately following me.

"Scared of getting lost again?" I ask with a grin.

"You wish!" he shots back. "I won't let you out of my sight again, buddy."

Me and my big mouth! I bet he had already forgotten about this afternoon but I just *had* to remind him. Stupid!

now that that situation is cleared (more or less), Michael has to think of something else! :D
... like ... porn videos, whips, leather and latex, dirty underwear ... hope that helps :D

<<Kyle>>

I felt really bad for Evans, I mean small sized condoms whoo!! that really sucks.

Guerin is over there acting like he had nothing to do with this whole situation. He's doing a mighty fine acting job too I might add. But I know the truth. This is a sure fire way to embarass Evans In front of the girls.

Well while he's out of the car declaring his innocence it's time to score a few with Tess.

I lean over near her and whisper. Loud enough for Liz to hear too.

"Burning condoms and magazines in a bonfire. I mean can you imagine what the guy would do if we found a long lost baby or something in the glove compartment."

Liz simply turns even more reddish. hmpf!! Virgin.

When I hear Tess stifle a giggle, I know I socred a few points. hmm helping Michael sabotage Max might not be such a bad thing for me to participate in after all. Well I won't do anything this drastic

"Evans calm down ok. Just get back in the car man. I mean, If this stuff really is your extremely kinky mags and, well, extra small...I mean regualar small condoms, than it's your personal business."

I continue

"And hey look on the bright side man. If someone accidently put that stuff in your car, just remember, small Condoms and these mags aren't cheap. So you really are the one that benefitted the most in the long run."

It's hard to finish the last sentence because I have to keep a straight face and not busrt into laughter. I really do feel bad for Max.

*Max*

I shake my head as I start up the car. "That might be so, Kyle, but I'm not about to go trying to hunt down the real owner. Maybe it's not fair, but that's too bad. And I really have no use for small condoms or the magazines." For a second a smile crosses my face as I suddenly think of the OJ Simpson trial - If the glove don't fit, you must acquit. But then, I'm not about to try them on in front of everyone just to prove they're not mine.

Still, Kyle does seem to think they have some value, so I add, "If you think you can use them, and you have an interest in the magazines, you're welcome to have them."

Great parts everyone

TESS

Max reaches over and pats the hand that I have placed on his arm and I give him a small smile in return. But then he gets out of the Jeep with a determined if not ticked off look on his face and lets everyone know that there is absolutely no way that these things could be his and that he plans to burn them in the bonfire when we eventually reach the beach.

And I don’t blame him. This is either a big misunderstanding or someone’s playing a cruel joke on a nice guy for no apparent reason. Kyle on the other hand, seems to find this rather amusing, now that the situation has been mostly diffused. He leans over to me and says, "Burning condoms and magazines in a bonfire. I mean can you imagine what the guy would do if we found a long lost baby or something in the glove compartment." I know Liz must have heard him too because she has another uncomfortable look on her face, but I think it’s actually kind of funny, and can’t help giggling a little tiny bit.

Well I’ll say one thing for Kyle, he sure knows how to make light of an uncomfortable situation. Damn man, he’s starting to look better all the time. I can’t wait to see what he does at the bonfire.

Kyle finishes his rant. "And hey look on the bright side man. If someone accidentally put that stuff in your car, just remember, small Condoms and these mags aren't cheap. So you really are the one that benefited the most in the long run."

“Kyle!” I say, more in a teasing way. “Leave Max alone, I think he’s been through enough in the last 15 minutes, k?”

Kyle just grins at me and waits for Max to say something. And he gets him back with a zinger of his own. "If you think you can use them Kyle, and you have an interest in the magazines, you're welcome to have them."

My mouth drops open in an O shape as I try to stifle an ‘oooh burned!’ snide remark, but I do glance behind me as Max pulls back onto the street to follow Alex’s car and I see the indignant look on Kyle’s face as he crosses his arms over his chest, as if to say ‘No way man do I need any small condoms thankyouverymuch.’ “No thanks man, I’m good.” He finally replies.

I look over to Max to see his reaction to Kyle’s less-than-witty retort, but he’s not looking at Kyle. His sparkling amber eyes are fixed on Liz through the rear-view mirror as we wait at a stoplight. “Are you okay?” He asks Liz quietly, lifting his eyebrows in concern.

I hear a meek answer from behind me, the first thing Liz has said since this whole fiasco started. “Yes, I am fine Max. But are you?” Huh. That’s odd. I glance in the mirror of my sun visor and I see that instead of looking elsewhere to answer him as she usually does, Liz is looking straight at him through the mirror from where she sits behind his seat.

Okay, I put the part about Max pulling back on to the street to follow Alex's car in there as taking place about 3 or 4 minutes after Max's little annoucement outside the car, just so no one is robbed of time for the other people to get back to their cars. If anything's amiss, just let me know and I'll change it.

Perfect part, Morpheus! That's exactly where I was gonna go with Max. :D
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

*Michael*

I follow Maria back to the Jetta and climb in. There didn't seem to be anything to say after Max's little rant. I couldn't exactly complain about the good money I spent on those things. Still, I think it did the trick. He put on a good show, but there has to be some doubt in people's minds. I'm sure I can build on that now.

Maria doesn't say anything as she starts out towards the beach behind Max and Alex. Seems to me that she should be the one in front if she knows where she's going, but I guess the guys have directions.

"Do you really think those weren't his?" I ask Maria, trying to sound thoughtful.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

*Max*

Kyle shuts up after my comment and I'm glad. I'm still angry about this situation. I understand everyone assuming they were mine at first, since they were in my jeep, but they kept on thinking it even after I told them it wasn't true. If I find out someone put them in here on purpose, they're going to be sorry they ever thought of it. I'll be glad when they're destroyed.

But I'm mostly concerned about Liz. She seemed to be the most distressed about all this. Maybe even more than me. She's finally moved her attention to the inside of the car, but she still looks tense and uncomfortable.

“Yes, I am fine Max. But are you?” she answers when I ask if she's okay, meeting my eyes in the rear-view mirror.

Somehow, her comment tells me that she knows how upset I really am and that she does believe me. She knows they weren't mine. Those clear brown eyes are so lipid and open I could fall into them. I want to go give her a hug right away.

"Max!" Tess says just as I force my attention back to the road. I'd been drifting into the next lane, but no harm done yet.

Keeping my eyes forward, I nod my acknowledgement of Tess' warning, although I was already responding when I heard it. My words, 'though, are for Liz. "I'll be fine," I tell her. "I don't know how that happened, but I'm really sorry you had to see it."

I'm sorry for my lack of posts lately, all your guys were wonderful though :). But as some of you know and some of you probably don't I've been going through a lot of unpleasent things at home right now and haven't had a lot of time to get on unless it's for homework *sighs* but heres a part

Maria

When we pull up behind Max, I keep quiet hoping to let this whole ordeal soak in before I say anything. I don't know what to believe, I mean it's hard to believe Max had those things, I mean his package looked bigger then a small to me. I know it's judgemental but I can't help but think those are the types of things I could see Michael keeping in his car, not Max. Of course appearances can be decieving, guys can seem so sweet and innocent and really they're just horn dogs underneath all that fake exterior.

"Do you really think those weren't his?" Michael asks, his voice cutting through my thoughts like a knife.

"I'm not sure, the evidence was pretty substantial," I tell him with a shrug, maybe Max isn't the 'nice' guy I thought he was?

good part, baby bre! :D
excuse the possible grammar mistakes but I just got home from being out with friends and since I didin't have to drive myself, I drank a bit and ... well ... it's a small part anyway

ALEX

It's quiet again as we continue our drive after the little sex and Max expierence, everyone surely thinking about what just occured.

"He's really going to burn that stuff in the bonfire?" Jake asks doubtfully from behind me.

"I'm sure you can have it all if you want it." I say seriously, biting my cheek to not burst out laughing when I see Jake's mouth hanging open in surprise at my remark. One point for me, I guess.

Isabel

"I'm sure you can have it all if you want it." Alex tells Jake.

“Maybe you should be asking Max if you can keep them since I’m pretty sure that about the only action you’ll be getting during this show” Jake says with a smirk “Izzy, have you got some hand lotion you could give Alec?”

“Eww, that is just beyond gross” I say with a disgusted tone “And don’t even look at my hand cream, it costs way to much for some loser to use and I don’t like anyone touching my stuff unless its me!”

great part Ruby … had me really thinking about what to write back

ALEX

“Maybe you should be asking Max if you can keep them since I’m pretty sure that about the only action you’ll be getting during this show” Jake says grinning at Isabel. “Izzy, have you got some hand lotion you could give Alec?”

Touché! I'll give him that but damn … did Isabel have to reply so fast - now I can't quip anything back … not that I would know what to say. But still … i should have gotten the chance for a reply.

“Eww, that is just beyond gross and don’t even look at my hand cream, it costs way to much for some loser to use and I don’t like anyone touching my stuff unless its me!”

That hurt. She really knows how to make some hurtful comments … if she even realizes that they hurt, which I highly doubt.

"Don't worry. As if I'd want to touch your stuff." I say to Isabel. After all we were talking about cosmetic products and not body parts!

Not that I'd get anywhere near to touching her body I'm afraid. Not with remarks like that. I have to stop doing that.

"Have to admit taht I didn't think you were the girl who gets it on in front of tv, Isabel." SHUT UP, ALEX! Now before you even ruin your slightest chance! Shut up!

"What's that supposed to mean"? She snaps back.

Reply nice Alex and … NO! Apologize for … whatever - just apologize!

"Well, Jake thinks that I need the stuff from Max's car to "get some action". So, I guess that he - and you - will get some kind of other action and since the camera guy is following us EVERYWHERE … whatevery you do will be caught on tape."

Oh God! Why don't I just shoot myself? And when do we finally arrive?
